Jesus, what a semi-surreal and horrific day- not an eyewitness to the crimes, but still...holy shit.
Half a block away from where I work, someone shot 2 women during a jewelry shop robbery, wounds another guy, runs out into the street covered in blood, runs into police, shoots at them (but misses, luckily), and gets taken into custody when he runs out of ammo.
So all day, dozens of police cars, plus ambulances, fire trucks, the SWAT team/bomb squad truck and some FBI agents have been camped out right on the corner, and everyone in the area was required to stay in their buildings for hours while they searched the area for any accomplices (the police are now saying it was just the one guy, but they wanted to be safe.) The first indication most people got that something was up was an email from a co-worker who'd gone across the street to a sporting good store a few doors down that read something like, "Stuck in [store] because of police gunfight outside, on lockdown."
Once the lockdown lifted, I had to get to my car to get home, but because the lot I park in is right next to the intersection where this all went down, I had to make a loop around the police cordon to get to it. The parking lot attendant pointed to one of the cars sitting there, and told me that it belonged to one of the women who was killed.
I was suggested to move this to the chats, so here it be! I have compiled a fairly extensive list of resources (ie websites) that may be useful to comic creators, especially those who do webcomics. Hosting sites, forum sites, drawing tutorials, merch printers, comic printers, etc. I even made sure to list Penny Arcade in the forums section ! I find the art supply section to be most helpful when looking for stuff. http://webcomicunderdogs.com/resources/
I know some people running Tough Mudder this weekend- you know, the crazy 12 mile obstacle course/physical challenge thing with like scaling walls and crawling under barbed wire and dodging electrified wires and shit so people can go WOW I'M SPECIAL FORCES TOUGH.
Meanwhile, I'm currently being delayed in my attempt at an extremely mild day hike because I accidentally got some sunscreen in my eye and eesh it stings a bit.
This contrast makes me feel like the wussiest wuss that ever wussed wussily.
There are some SPro hotkeys - spacebar for rotate/scale is the one I use most often, the others are a bit silly (do you really need a fast crop key?) BUT if you right click you can get a shortcut tool selection and I THINK in preferences you may be able to tweak what shows up there? I might give it a shot and let you know.
Apparently the furnace here has decided life is not worth living.
Back in January it decided heat wasn't really a thing it felt like producing anymore, and now I have no a/c despite the actual a/c unit functioning fine because the blower motor in the heating system that actually pushes cool air through the ducts is borked. current temperature in house: 89.
You know, when I clearly don't know anything in a given area of expertise, usually googling can turn up some at least half-way decent results.
However, I've come to the conclusion that asking the internet what I should wear is an incredibly shit idea; people that care enough about men's fashion are either going to be the type of person who thinks everyone should wear a full tailored suit at all times ("You can 'dress down' to something more casual like a sport jacket if mowing the lawn, or while in the shower") , or is going to be an advocate for "trendy" hipster shit, and by "trendy" I mean stuff that you will almost certainly never see on an actual human being in real life, except maybe at a costume party.
Hey guys, I work in the ultra-casual dev side of the Bay Area tech industry, and taking the advice of accumulated internet wisdom here is a sure-fire way to make me look like a total out-of-place doucheass. I just want to know how to not look particularly slovenly within the context of a jeans-and-t-shirt environment, which is apparently that's a bar that's so low that no useful advice exists on it. I guess I'll just keep wearing my oversized, paint spattered clothing from high school and hope that look comes into fashion at some point.
(Why am I so paranoid about possibly being seen as incompetent at things I don't actually care about and don't really matter? Stupid 'life is a competition and you are LOSING at it' upbringing. ]:{ )

It amuses me to know that the sims developers are armed to the teeth.

running makes you feel real good
not even joking y'all
Granted, I barely get a mile before blacking out.
I love running, but I could not hate any exercise more than running on a tread mill... this is probably why I get fat in Colorado during the winters.

Bustin'. Bustin' makes me feel good.
its saturday and I'm not going out, so lets drink and draw! Or don't drink if you prefer, but come hang out!
My internet is being difficult. I'll give it another try in a little while.
I guess this is what happens when you only use photoshop for like ten years.

Also I'll be hosting a hangout tonight probably starting around 8 or 9. Not sure what I'll be working on, but it'll be something.
Yup might as well get used to it if you plan on using sbpro
