Yesterday i finished Metroid Prime 2, 100% on hard, so i finally unlocked the boss and sketch gallery(wich are awesome), and while looking at them i noticed this:

1rez.jpg

they wrote "Portal" as "Potal", and not just in this one, but in all the other 5 documents that contain this

mp2002.jpg

mp2003.jpg

mp2004.jpg

mp2005.jpg

mp2006.jpg

is not a major thing, i just think its funny considering that portals are the most important gimmick in the game, and well this sketch sheets look like official documents so it amuses me that they overlooked this. :P

im sure you people have much more interesting stuff to show. :)

Natsume spelled their own name wrong in Harvest Moon 64 I think. Actually, I nominate all of Harvest Moon for spelling mistakes. FoMT is a good example because not only are there typos but one part just wasn't translated and it's still in japanese and another is in german.

As is seen in this video, the old Ghostbuster games for NES and Master System has some bad ones.
"Conglatrations!" and "Prooved" both appear on the end screen, and the MS version spells the villans name wrong several times.

I also recall there being a typo in Perfect Dark (64).
One of the items in the last mission had "infomation" in the description.

Why? Wich word are you talking about?

I can't believe people aren't using Firefox 2, if for no other reason than built-in spell check in text fields.

You MAY want to REveil it until you cut the "width=500&height=80&bgcolor=transparent&color=black" portion.

Also, in response to the OP....we could easily be dealing with every non-English-to-English game ever made.

I like to think of that game as a typo. A typo in an otherwise brilliant sentence.

Thing is, those games aren't just straight translations. The localization team takes enough time to include Fresh Prince references to the dialogue, but forgets the difference between their and they're.

The first one was pretty bad, but the second one was definitely worse.

Seriously, they need to hire someone to spell-check this crap. I bet they ran it through a spell-check program. In fact, are there any spelling errors in the game that a spell-check program would pick up? I can only think of instances where the misspelling results in a similar word (your/you're, trial/trail, their/they're)

If there were, the dialogue team was sure subtle about them - the first part felt all right, but the DS bonus case and onward just feel like a sack full of wierd hitting you when you make the transition.
