It's a little hard to tell in that Cable pic, but the red motorcycle Forge built is a replica of Kaneda's bike. So A-Team, Airwolf, Knight Rider, and Akira. Forge apparently had a lot of time on his hands.
I think it took awhile for CaXF to get its feet, but the more issues in, the more everything clicks together.
Especially the Dr. Nemesis/Forge love/hate romance.

I think I just really like that it doesn't take itself too seriously. Cable's still doing his savior thing but the rest of his X-Force is fairly lighthearted (Forge, Dr. Nemesis, Boom-Boom, and even Domino on occasion).
And yeah, the Blaquesmith stuff from this issue was great.

I didn't get that either, but I assume it's just Ultimate Reed messing with him.
There's something about that Galactus image that resonates with me. I find it creepy. Well played art-man.
This makes me want to read that book so badly, but Hickman.
There is only one way that a battle between a Spider-Man and Galactus should end.
One of, yes.

CaXF feels more...outlaw? Like it has kind of a punk "we are making this up as we go" sensibility which I really enjoy.
Plus there are scenes like Blaquesmith owning a chain of 7-11s which are hilarious

Hopeless is really cementing himself as a strong character writer. I would love to see him get some bigger books.
I would be perfectly happy with him writing both the books he's currently on for long unbroken runs
I can see him writing a big ensemble Avengers or X-Men book really well
