So far games have just been dropping trading cards for those games. What if Valve Math shows that they could sell tons of copies of Bad Rats by having it drop cards for OTHER games with a higher than normal foil rate?
I think the other game devs might object to associating their game with Bad Rats.
Is hotline Miami better played with a keyboard or a controller?
Go KBAM, the game really depends on split second precision.
I beat it with a controller and without ever using the lock-on. I wasn't racking up super high scores or anything, but it is definitely playable on a controller.

I also made it through Hotline Miami with a controller, but I did use lock-on. I should give it a try with KBAM one of these days though. I don't really like playing games 2D games where movement and aiming are independent of each other using KBAM because they make me feel super-uncoordinated. Using the controller works much better for me.
I have $20 in my wallet ready to go for Summer Dale thanks to cards so far, and maybe another $20 other than that. I have to keep it small this year. I think I still haven't played some games I bought in last year's!
Edit: Yep, still need to beat/play Dungeon Siege 1, 2 & 3, Stacking, Trine 2 and Jade Empire (remember that oh jeez)

Oh, just last year's?
Probably some from the year before that too!
I owned Dead Space 2 for two years before I finally played it.
Okay guys, the Summer Dale is coming upon us. If not next week, soon enough that now would be a good time to take some steps to prepare ourselves.
Important Steps:
Learn to Love the Flowchart: http://i.imgur.com/nuzzd.png Don't buy anything for more than you need to, every little bit of money you save can probably get you another game or two!
Wishlist Pruning: Make sure your wishlist is up to date, and if possible sorted. There will be a lot of classiness being thrown around. They will want to get you the best games they can, so its your duty to rank your wishlist and make sure its full of games you really want. Getting a gift from someone is awesome, but getting a gift you really want just from the kindness of someone on the internet is even better. Make sure you help others trying to help you, and when you're looking for potential victims try checking their wishlists. Its always nice to get something they'll like.
Steam Wallets: Are you bad with money, or tend to go overboard on spending and interfere with your financial responsibilities? Put some money in the wallet! Its there being ready for the Dale and you won't have to worry about spending more than allocted! (If you have restraint and dont spend more anyways.)
Steam Groups: Get your requests to join the groups in now. When the Dale hits fully the groups close down because of the clusterfuck of posts and gifts being given away. During the Dale is the prime time that random people attempt to join the group to get in on receiving gifts, and thats just not Classy.
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/PAGT is the G&T Adventure Team group. Despite the name, it is open to ANY ACTIVE PA FORUMER. Active means different things to each Officer, but if you request an invite have a link to your PA Profile ready. 50 comments over 8 years isn't active, but 100 comments in the past 2 years might be. Its all subjective and up to the officer you approach. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/PennyArcade is the default PA Group. Much easier to get into, and also less interesting on a more daily basis.
Have Fun!: While the gift of giving is amazingly classy, not everyone can afford to do so. Don't feel bad, the Summer Dale is a season of enjoyment. While there WILL be gifts flying around willy-nilly, dont forget the enjoyment that can be had out of just playing games. Start multiplayer groups, get some friends together and blast some fools in an FPS, or Crush people in a Civ 5 game. The chats will be bursting with more people, so now is the PERFECT time to get social and make some friends.
Optional Steps:
Start Prefriending Potential Targets: If you friend someone in the middle of the Dale, the jig is up. They'll be on the defensive! They might even be prepared to fire back immediately. If you friend them now, you can catch them during the Dale with their pants down and thats ALWAYS more amusing.
Find the Classiest of Targets: If you want to hit someone who you think really deserves it you can do some research. People who gift out a lot before the Dale tend to get deluged in gifts during it, so you can hit them with a gift and get out without a return fire. Its sneaky, but its always a good strategy!
Potential Classholes include (But are not limited to):
"Big Classy"
Luchaire
"Minor Incident"
Spoit
"Wooden Spoon" (Hes newer, but hes been hitting people and hoping not to get noticed)
Khildith
Viking (Hes australian, so hes dangerous)
iolo
"HiT BiT" (Every post he does is deluged in awesomes, giveaways or not. Just super classy community member)
"Gear Girl"
There are a million more Super Classy members amongst us, but these are just the big hitters off the top of my head. If I didn't mention you, don't feel bad! I am terrible with names and these are just the ones I can remember. These are just a starting guide for easy targets. If you noticed someone I missed hit them with some Summer Dale love! Its the perfect season to spread the class around.
Start installing Multiplayer games: With the excitement of new and old games going on super discount there will be a LOT of games being played. Install your favorites, and try to get some groups together! Even if they're not on sale there will be a lot of people in the chat rooms, so there is a higher chance of finding people to fill out a Game of Hot Pursuit, L4D, SR3, Payday, or any game you like to play! Celebrate the Dale with multiplayer Gaming goodness!
These are my tips to being prepared for the Dale. Have your own? Let me know and I can update the list! Most importantly this upcoming Dale seasaon: Have fun! Thats why we're here, thats what this community is about.
Might as well quote this again because poor Corrigan got bottom paged heh. Also nice job.
Another classy gentleman in this thread has already gifted me Psychonauts. Did you wanna pick another winner? Or shall I hold another giveaway for it?
I just finished Ep 5 of The Walking Dead. Man, what a great game. Much better than the tv show. Will we have to purchase season 2?
Also:
There are a ton of Psychonauts keys floating around right now thanks to the bundle. Why don't you just hang on to that one and slip it into someone's game bank the next time someone looks tragically Raz-free.
Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes (have wanted this for awhile)
Driver: San Francisco (this too)
Kerbal Space Program
Sonic & All-Stars Racing
(probably won't get a sale but it looks super neat) Loadout
I'm hoping at least 50% on these, if not 75% for Driver and Sonic. I shall not deviate from this list!

Sonic & All-stars racing is amazing. Driver San Fran just didn't grab me. If they both go up at the same time, Sonic is the better game.

San Francisco is seriously the best driving game I've played. They do so many neat things in it. I wouldn't even call it a racing game, its kinda like midtown madness but with a really good story and premise.

Just wait a bit for Loadout. Pretty sure it's a F2P game that's currently in beta.

You should add one of the most frequently asked things during sale time - "If gifted, public thanks are always welcome - to give a shout out to a forumer with a space in their name use @ followed by their name in quotes"

Holy Gaben, that GOG sale is incredible. Must stay pure and resist non-Newellian tempters.
Luckily, there's a only a few non-Steamers that are tempting, so I think I'm safe. Pretty sure The Real Texas is on Greenlight right now, so I can probably wait on that.

Island dog in the FE thread said Legendary heroes probably won't go on sale, or it won't stack if with a sale price if you own the original FE. He wrote referring to stacking the discount for owning the original and a sale price I believe.
Also, how the hell did I end up on @CorriganX's hit list? I think I've only dropped one measly giftbomb on him. One, just one!
It wasn't my list, I'm still unemployed so won't be able to gift as much as I'd like. It was a general PA hitlist. Full of people who do things such as "Gift people stuff for mentioning any game whatsoever on the forums" and other oddities.

True this. Since the thread moves so bloody fast during sales (and the @ flags don't always seem to trigger), forum PMs or Steam profile comments are a nice option in addition or instead of thread shoutouts.
Also, for you aspiring giveaway monsters, be advised that your clever contest will be a page old almost as soon as it's posted. I'm not saying you shouldn't post contests or giveaways reliant on people seeing them in thread during the sale. But if you want maximum exposure you might be best served by stocking up during the sale and contesting/gifting afterwards.

Hope you like waiting. Even Valve has admitted that Greenlight has turned into a bottleneck that's doing the opposite of what they intended.
I've never been to GoG, it's probably a good thing right?
I'd avoid it today. One of the games that is in my top three things to get during Summer Sale is half off today and it's taking a lot to not jump on it. The deals over there today are nuts.

Go buy it, dork! It's only $2.50 on GOG and Steamworks!

Nope. I know Summer Dale can love.
I was actually referring to a game no longer available on Steam.
