And you can always ask for help or explanations of WTF you're looking at. I don't bite (most of the time)

The best way to get into the mods is to slowly work through the very basics. Learn how to use NEI to drill down through recipes, play around with basic power generation for both IC2 and BuildCraft (and by basic I mean really basic. Coal/Charcoal powered). Once you get to know how cables and pipes works, then you can start to think about machine processing or head off into the world of Bees. Don't jump into the deep end immediately because you'll drown or you'll miss out on the critical fundamentals which can lead you to a very awkward start up when in a new world. Funky automation is only really when you start to get to know all the little quirks with Minecraft mods and machines. And ask for help! There's lots of stuff that isn't immediately obviously and isn't documented. GregTech centrifuging lava and redstone for example isn't obviously unless you've dug through the entire recipe list or read up about it. Or had someone tell you about it.

Also direwolf20 does a let's play of this modpack (kinda). Its a good idea to play along with him and I believe he's relatively polite and lack of swearing and shenanigans

    Attention citizens of townsville!
Helping Kanden build his Megacube has generated an idea for next server.
Same building. Only 2 of them, as cube balls. Each cube holding a different liquid. And a giant cube shaft between and behind them. Filled with milk.

Or...just one mega cube. Coords are +734,+75

Ahem, it's official name is THE OMEGA CUBE.

  • TakelTakel Registered User regular
You mean the two (incomplete) basalt balls in Bee Moskau wasn't enough?

With all the new liquids, we need much more tank space :P

  • RadiationRadiation Registered User regular
27 mega cubes per omega cube...
    Should be enough I think

    PSN: jfrofl
  • TakelTakel Registered User regular
Just... how big are those cubes? I did a quick tail of the server logs and I saw a mention of having biomes in the cubes... That's scary.

Each mega cube is a 33x33x33 square and there are 27 of them. So not big enough for a whole biome, just a bit of one. Maybe I can make Omega Cube 2.0 the size of a biome.

Obviously we need moar liquids then. Someone should make a special mod...

If the Procedural Tanks or whatever doesn't come out before our next server we could always do a scaled-down version with twenty-seven steel tanks with clear sides.

Assuming we're not doing the biome thing.

Is that mod that will give any shaped tank expected to be in? Because...I would sick all of the ducks for that.

  • Bloody JackBloody Jack Registered User regular
Nah that is the one with all the glowy blocks made from those crystals, and the big tanks you made last map. Or at least that is the one that I mean :P

The any-shaped tank one would be great though.

I mostly just want multi-tanks back. Steel tanks are great and all, but I'd rather have some tanks that don't use absurd amounts of iron first and then upgrade them later.

I have a podcast about Digimon called the Digital Moncast, on Audio Entropy.

Multi tanks made bee keeping easier. Punching holes in the ground and storing honey and DNA in them at the site was great

I'm a bit torn on xycraft, I actively dislike every part of it except for the tanks. Though I will not complain if it is added to the server.

Well, I've got my first UU-Matter in my Unhinged SSP. I made a Dragon Egg thingie which outputs some crazy amount of EU (I know it burned out my fibre optic cable and blew up my MFSU so it's got to be more than 512 EU/tick, probably 1024) so that's good. It's taking maybe 20 minutes or so per? Not bad I guess....

...is it crazy that I'm wanting to buy a server to host my game in so that I can actually use these systems? As it is I'm pretty much certain that I'll never be building a fusion reactor.

the egg syphon produces 1024eu/t if I recall right.

It also produces metric ass loads of flux, So.. get used to giant angry zombies, bad weather, and all sorts of other horrible things.

    This fucking game.

Create like 10 worlds, never find any rubber trees without cheating in the saplings.

My latest world? Spawned in a grove of rubber trees. Except now, I can't find any copper. I've explored like the whole cave system under spawn, and all I've found is two copperberry things.

Just finished half-slabbing and covering with lava a 128-radius circle around my nether farm. Holy crap that was a lot of work. Now to install the ShowMonsters mod to make sure I'm actually building it in the right place... I think the tutorial I followed to build the first level got the spawn areas a little bit off; I've only gotten pigmen from it.

Finally got enough copper to make it to a macerator + generator set-up, then hit the jackpot, relatively speaking.

So now I've got 30 copper ingots and I'm hesitant to spend them. How the wheel turns.

uh, something is wrong with the server I think...
the RSA key changed and I can't SSH into the server properly... My sub-account into the control panel is erroring on me as well. I'll have to wait to hear from Rad

    Edit:
Actually, screw that. Root account here we go

EditEdit: Dammit, root password doesn't work. @Radiation, it's up to you now -_-

I installed HarvestCraft on top of my Unleashed pack. I don't know why. I'm just going to keep eating carrots anyway.

Man, I've logged in and can't seem to do a single thing. Still looking around.

I'll pick up the server files and open up an account then when that rolls around. I'd keep paying it off myself, but I'd want 'account owner' in case anything really bad goes wrong.

Speaking of which, I think the server is on a different install. Root password has changed, the RSA signature has changed (meaning new OS install) and my SSH account is no longer there. Could you please PM me the new root password?
