I do not understand the placement rules in this game sometimes. Can anyone look at this pic and tell me why this one random bush decided to die?
And for this one, a guess bushes actually need 2 spaces from water, while trees only need one?
Edit: Nope, that can't be right, as I definitely have others within 1 space of the water. I have no idea why these died either, then.
On a related note, if anyone has red bushes in their island shop, please left me know. I'm suddenly in need of a few more than expected.
There are also just dead spots, where nothing will grow. I've never really been sure why.
I suspect just to introduce randomness in the perfect grids players are bound to plant. They want things to look a bit more natural.
I'm actually leaning towards this explanation, since a bit of Googling isn't turning anything up about a hard tree cap. There's an upper limit for what's considered a perfect town, and since I've been getting perfect for several days, I can't imagine a few bushes taking me from that to tree plague.

At least it wasn't difficult. Sure, the scorpion hisses at you when you're creeping with the net in stealth mode, but once it stops hissing, start moving in...if it hisses again, wait. Otherwise, it just sits there, and you can creep up and catch it...just don't miss. Same with tarantula.
The only pain in the ass was finding them.
Also, meteor shower in Omnar #1 tonight! I'll try to get my gates open for peeps to come get Wishy shit.

After I paid off my final house loan, my HHA points skyrocketed with the inclusion of exterior themes in the points. Trouble is, I appear to have skipped over HHA awards. My last award (quite some time ago) was the jacket. Now I have the option of getting a golden roof, golden arched door, and golden exterior - but I never received the golden plaque, HHA trophy, or model house. Anyone else experience this issue?
Also - I'm going for a harmonious theme outside and in one of my rooms. Will changing to a golden exterior and golden door reduce my HHA points since it doesn't count as harmonious? Should I wait until I unlock the final two golden exteriors before switching over?
Your story scared me so I did some research.
There are two sets of rewards, one for the internal challenge, one for the external.
If you talk to Lyle you should be able to quit the external challenge and get those internal challenge rewards you are missing.
So relatively easy and risk free item duping has been found. Something to do with flicking off your wi-fi when saving your exit from a town so the host saves your actions (such as dropping stuff) but you revert to before the visit.
Time to trust no-one outside this board because cheating in a cutesy collectathon video game is serious business.
