Classic Controller Pro Problem

I've had a Wii for a while and we finally decided to get a Classic Controller (Pro). It doesn't work too well though, it's buggy, it moves on its own, I don't even touch the left stick and my character will move, or my character will move in the wrong direction while I play. Anyone have any idea whether the controller is just faulty or if something else is the problem
