Farsi Word Processors?

Hey there guys. This is somewhat of a strange request but I might as well ask since it will only take 5min and may save me several hours of trial and failure with an out of date program that is not supported anymore. The main issue is that I have a friend of mine who would like to type Farsi in a Word processor and actually has one but for some reason, it doesn't work with Windows XP since one of the fonts is missing and it crashes. He can get it to work on much, much older versions of windows but they do not play nice with the printers, even though normal word processors do on the older versions of windows do.

The program I am using is Vazhe Negar '98 which is on 4 separate floppy disks but the issue is that it is it just is not working with the printers. Does anybody know of a free or realistically alternative to this Farsi Word Processor. I have heard that Windows XP itself might be able to support something like this but I do not know about anything like that. Anyways, thanks guys.

Open Office might work. It is free and works on a variety of OSs.

Here is their page for Persian. Hopefully it says something other than OO does not work for Farsi, but I can't really say :).
