anyone know if this one activates on steam? It was removed from the steam store a while back, would be nice to have
Amazon is really good now about marking Steam games. Since that one doesn't specify, it's very safe to assume it's not. Also note that with the demise of Gamespy, there are no multiplayer servers, so you're only getting a singleplayer game there (which is probably why it was pulled from Steam).
I could be wrong, but I thought only the gaming news site GameSpy shutdown, not the multiplayer server part.
Pretty sure it's the other way around
From wikipedia
GameSpy shut down operations in February 2013.[2] GameSpy Technologies, the company responsible for GameSpy multiplayer services, remains operational and has not made any announcements of a pending shutdown; the two GameSpy companies were separate entities and only related by name.[3]
Well, regardless, this is from that game's store page:
NOTE: As of Feb 2013, Gamespy servers are no longer supporting multiplayer mode. This game is now available only for single player missions.
Let it be known, amongst you Classholes, that @Wooden Spoon tried to attack me, unprovoked while I was working today. His aggression can not be tolerated. There will be gifts!
So @DaringDirk was apparently so overcome with emotion over the newfound 19.2 GB on his hard drive that he had to go take a nice relaxing bubble bath.
But as he stepped away from the PC, he stopped long enough to lob a steam key at me. "19.2GB," he sniffled. "That's like another whole game."
Thanks for Lucid! I can't tell immediately whether this is going to be a nice, casual game to play before bed... or if it's going to make me want to murderize people...
Page 12, here I come! What to say about 12. I guess I hope it is a nice page. 11 wasn't bad though. And I still have 12, 13, 14, 15. This seem appropriate Roll On.
@DaxterMax
So for those of us who like to use our DualShock 3 as a PC controller, have we found a better tool than MotionInJoy yet? Preferably, one that doesn't require a connection to the internet...
How is BPM (Big Picture Mode) and a controller? I have my computer hooked to my 54 inch to watch Hulu, but haven't tried steam. DoctorArch was classy and gave me Sonic, does the thread think that would work good? My girl said she likes sonic too. I guess what is the recommended controller?
Everybody should buy Street Fighter 4 AE.
Just sayin'.
Wasn't there someone recently that opened their mouth and earned themselves a gift of SS4AE? @Luchaire maybe?
Yes, for not knowing a reference to the sound made when doing a special. Oh Street Fighter, I had a friend in HS, he would kick everyone butt so hard, I don't I ever saw him do it, but claimed he would still win one handed. Somehow I wouldn't doubt it.

Of course it was me. If ever you're thinking "Hey, wasn't someone at PA recently gifted <insert any game here>" your first thought should be Luchaire, and you'll probably be right. :P
In the particular case, @HiT BiT threw SS4AE at me because I was guilty of not knowing what "quarter-circle-forward" meant...
But do you know the Konami Code ? No Bing/Google/Dog Pile/etc. Just yes or no. If yes, what is it?
Hence my Bioware credo:
"Play it on easy " (TM)
Really good games but the combat...brrrrr
Worst offender was Jade Empire. Fun game but not if you took the combat system seriously.
I swear I played that on hard and did ok. I had to learn what they game wanted me to do, but was possible.
I love SSFIV for a lot of the same reasons I love the new MK. I'm not terribly good at them (not terribly bad either), but they hit all the right nostalgia notes. The easy to learn/hard to master gameplay, character roster, music, art style. All takes me back to being 12 and playing stuff like SFII and MKII on the SNES.
My mom hated mortal combat. I played old version on computer, and when she wasn't around. I had no idea what fatalities were though. Was always sub zero. I also have a fond memory of killer instinct.

So I figured. As I pick a lot of posts, you could almost consider my post a recap. Lol, so what happened on page twelve? Read all about it right here! @Albino Bunny
They really should give you an in-game title like 'Cult of the Newell' or some such for Steam purchase. Would be fitting.
But unless you are in the steam thread, would you get it?
And that is it folks. Page 12. A little talking about Tekken verses SF, hum. I like SF, but as I said above Mortal Combat and Killer Instinct deserve some love to. Be back for Page 13.
Man, I want ME3 so bad, but I want Origin even less...I've held on this long without either, I think I can keep going!
yep this is why i went and picked up the three pack for my Xbox360 awhile back and started a play through. I tried origin once ( but i didn't inhale) hated it and never went back.

You're missing out on an amazing experience for a silly reason.
Origin isn't awesome. But it's not horrible either. I launch ME3 through Steam and hardly even know Origin is doing its thing, quietly, in the background.

Maybe some day I'll play ME3's single player
Some day when I'm really really bored
And maybe crippled so I can't do anything else of value
And for some reason I can't access anything but my Origin account

It wasn't me. Time to lay low and let this all blow over.

Yeah but that thing is making meth for the EA employees.
Origin is terribad. Not as bad as, say, Ubisoft's weird ass thing.
ME is a great series, up till the terrible botched ending. The multi is fun, sparingly. Sad it's on Origin though.

How is Street Fighter on the PC? I've never been very good at Street Fighter but it is cheap enough for me to at least try to be able to beat the game.

Honestly I've never really had any problems with Origin. One time it wouldn't load my friends list, but I just had to reset some things over the course of about 2 minutes and that was that.
Well, had a nice little two week break from work and was even able to chip a game off the backlog (just one, sadly, but it's a start). Alas, it's coming to a close and no Summer Dale in sight, and participation will be slim with schoolwork in the evenings for the next month. IT certification is a harsh and demanding mistress.
Wallet's loaded just in case, but I hope it doesn't start tomorrow, that would be just mean.

I don't understand. What makes Origin "terribad"? Besides just general "EA is evil/shit/whatever"?
I've never had any issues with it, but I don't use it for anything except to sit down and be quiet while I play its games (ME series, Kingdoms of Amalur, and one or two other things I can't remember) - and even then I just launch the games through Steam, Origin logs me in, and I never even really know it's running. I don't need it to do anything else, and it doesn't seem to mind. What am I missing?

I can't wait for Sumerdale to snag it. It's one of my favorite games.
No, this is good for people like me with limited funds. I will be able to gift without worry of nuclear retaliation.
Some people have willpower and can hold on.
Some people suffer from premature giftaculation.
Of course, some people can just gift and gift and gift.....
Once I figure out what I want to buy for myself, someone might get gifted.

You should buy yourself Metro: Last Light, Then gift someone with the rest

Yes. Yes there is.
You can probably get one of those nvidia promos for like $30
If I am playing ME3, chances are it's the surprisingly fun multiplayer.

Sitting here watching stuff on youtube and @Malakaius threw Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Edition at me.
Thanks guy!
but then again with the Dale around the corner.
Excellent!
There should be a lot more giftbombing of people who are distinctly not me.
I approve! I hope this becomes a fad!
Where's the disagree button?
And MK9 is out soon on Steam.
