Has anyone had luck with playing Mortal Kombat online? Matchmaking has been taking a really long time for me, so I've mostly stuck to the single player modes.

I'm not sure if it's entirely the game's fault or if there's something I could change to improve it.

I managed to knock my wishlist down quite a bit recently but I'm really hoping to see good deals on Monaco and pinball tables and maybe a few other small things!

Theres bugs with it, if your AA is too high the matchmaking bugs out or something? Try lowering your graphic options. Yeah. Thats a workaround someone found. :p

is it bad that i am thinking about installing steam on my friends computer just so maybe I get a booster pack? haven't logged in for over 24 hours. could be missing so much.

For what it's worth, I checked my Steam account through the website from work today and found I had a booster pack waiting in my inventory.

    My dale wishlist is definitely:

Rogue Legacy, on the off chance there's a price reduction

Monaco, because it looks fun as hell for co-op.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, because I need more racing in my life

    Everything-Mania, because they look fun.

Guns of Icarus: Online, because everyone tells me I should get it.

    Stardrive, because it looks awesome.

Expeditions: Conquisitador, because it also looks awesome.

My number one suggestion for others would be Crusader Kings 2 and its major content DLCs. They are SO worth it!

Also, if you are one of 3 people who doesn't own XCOM: Enemy Unknown, get it. So much of my life has been lost to it.

    That's certainly...

    interesting.

Tried turning off AA completely, but matchmaking still takes a while to find someone.

    Tech savvy people:

Having a weird computer issue currently. Pretty much all games seem to have random slow downs. So do video files I play. Now, I live in Arizona, I thought maybe my GPU or CPU was overheating. But I've found it's only under certain conditions this happens. If I play a game with a controller, it happens frequently (to give an example, every race in Sonic Transformed). If I'm watching a video file, average TV episode, maybe 1 or 2 times over the length. KBAM games? Doesn't seem to happen. And the controller and video files? They get fixed if I simply hit a key on the keyboard. Thought maybe it was my crappy knockoff 360 wireless receiver causing some sort of issue but it happens even when I used a PS3 controller instead. So I'm a bit baffled.

Which version of Windows is it? Other than restore point and turning off/unplugging all your external stuffs to see if that fixes it (then adding through process of elimination to see which was causing the problem), the earlier Win versions sometimes had profile-specific stuffs, so you could try creating a new Administrator account and see if it works with that, which would narrow it to something with your profile or something more general with your computer.

Also just keep the task manage open when you're doing things you know will cause the hiccups/slowdown and see what, if anything is spiking CPU/memory usage when it happens.

And if nothing spikes either of those, it's probably GPU related so check out your drivers and/or do a clean driver install to see if that helps.

Probably late but... uninstall all USB related drivers. Unplug all USB devices. Delete your USB root hubs in device manager. Reboot. In the bios if you have the option for plug and pray Turin it on and off and back on to flush USB memory address. Reboot and add each USB device one by one testing for issues after each one.

The only thing I really have my eye on is The Swapper; and the only reason I'm waiting to grab that is because I have a huge back catalog so I might as well see if it goes on sale during the Dale.

If Wolfenstein was still available, I'd probably be looking to grab that, too.

    My Dale wishlist consists of:

Ys Chronicles, because Oath and Origin were really really good and Chronicles hasn't had a good sale yet

Beyond Good and Evil, because it looks kind of like Sands of Time with more stealth, and Ubisoft has been kind of stingy with its sale pricing

    La-Mulana, because holy crap La-Mulana

Gunpoint, because you can hook up an elevator button to every light in the building

    and Din's Curse, because @Drake.

La-Mulana and Gunpoint probably won't get especially deep discounts during the sale, but I think the others have a pretty good chance of dropping to around $5 each.

Edit: Also, some of my recommendations:
Binding of Isaac and its expansion, for anyone who doesn't have them. Probably the best value for your money on Steam.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time: It's one of the best 3D platformers I've ever played, and definitely the best 3rd person parkour game I've ever played. The levels are basically just big playgrounds for you to move through as fluidly as possible, and the game even controls fine with keyboard and mouse. Warning: one puzzle near the beginning involving an elevator might put you off of the game, but if you power through it, the game just gets better.

Noitu Love 2: Cheap, beautiful, fast-paced 2D platformer that plays like a combination of Megaman and a beat-em-up, and looks as good as Metal Slug.

    Ridiculously cheap but no DLC.

    My top 3:
    1. Don't Starve Robinson Crusoe Rouge-like done in a Tim Burton style. Poop is life.

    2. Everyday Shooter Honestly, the music might be better than the game, and the game is really solid.

    3. Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance Ah, gas powered games' magnum opus.
Now, I'm not recommending the core game, I recommending the expansion. Because that's where this game really fucking shines. You see, most strategy games' single player campaigns start you out with 10% of your units and you slowly but surely get introduced to more and more of your arsenal as you reach the end of the game. Forged Alliance does not. Forged Alliance starts you out with EVERYTHING and lets you run through 1 campaign with EVERYTHING! You can take any of the three factions and get a few additional sub-objective along the way, but its a little different each time.

Why is this so great? Because in Starcraft and Dawn of War, you had to work your way up to unlock weapons of mass destruction. In forged alliance, the enemy expects you to start with weapons of mass destruction. Fuck your surgical strikes, this is war, total war. You are break your enemies across your knee and spread their irradiated ashes across the galaxy. Haroo! Haroo! Haroo!

@Krummith pointed out that the Endless Space DLC is up for sale too - can't see if it still is, due to region blocking, but hopefully that's useful. Oh, and everyone who had the Admiral Edition now seems to have the Emperor edition, post-DLC release. Hmm.

    Unrelated, for the night crowd:

I have a copy of 'The Walking Dead: 400 Days ' to give away. And all I want in return is to hear your survival strategy for the inevitable oncoming zombie apocalypse. Planning to live on a boat, deep sea fishing, occasionally looting coastal towns for supplies? Cool. Heavily armed survivalist compound? Cool. Treehouse? Cool. Impenetrable pillow fort? Sure. Points will be awarded on the basis of sensible-ness, humour, and rube-gold-berg-esque nature of your plan/survival strategy.

This'll run through Sunday night/Monday morning GMT.

    Dear @Vorpal,

May I just say that I was just looking and I find your wishlist to be an absolutely beautiful thing. It brought a tear to my eye, it did. So sweet, so innocent, so full of potential. Book of Unwritten Tales, Don't Starve, Magical Diary, To the Moon, TLJ/Dreamfall, Rogue Legacy... I could go on. It made my heart melt and my wallet throb. It made me cast a wistful glance back at a younger, more naive me, the me before I was buried under a backlog the size of the moon.

I think this is going to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Crushing your wishlist like a spider in the kitchen will be delightful beyond words.

HL2 cards apparently drop fast, because I loaded it up to play and by the time I fiddled with the settings I had 4 cards and hit my limit.

Of course I really only got 2 cards, and I got those two cards twice.
