Three suggestions for the sale? Neat idea. I'll try to keep mine short and simple, and a little off the beaten path too.
If you want to play something really different in the genre of FPS keep an eye out for Xotic. This arcade style FPS mashes up speed runs, platforming and trick shooting through several different modes. The game isn't a graphics masterpiece but it does feature some pretty far out and colorful art design. I really enjoy the look of the game when I get tired of the usual shooter pallete. I heard a lot of you groan when I mentioned platforming. Well, in this game you can make your own platforms, hard light holograms. They can also be placed in front of you to provide temporary cover. Easy to use and a really fun mechanic. With lots of levels, modes and score based gameplay there is a good bit of play in the game and it'll probably be dirt cheap during the sale. There is a demo on the store page.
For racing I suggest some Trackmania. If you want to see what this series is about you can get Trackmania Nations Forever free on Steam. It features one complete racing environment, the Stadium. This will give you a solid idea of what this series does. If you like this you might want to keep an eye out for a sale on Trackmania United. Discounts on this game are rare as unicorns and while it's not the latest in the series it's a pretty massive amount of excellent content. TM United is basically all of the previous TM games collected in one package. Of course if you want something more current keep an eye out for any of the TM2 games that may strike your fancy. Smokstacks gave those a pretty good write up already.
For Tower Assault and Defense you might want to take a look at Gratuitous Tank Battles. Fully customizable everything. I mean everything. Built in level editor. Optional Adaptive AI that adjusts to your style and tactics. Attack and defend on any map. Save your attack plan then play against it as defender. Amusing grindark alternate history of a Europe after two centuries of unceasing war. It's approachable yet incredibly deep. The only real criticism I can level at the game is that the graphics come off a bit plain. This game also has a demo on the store page.
As far as what I'm going to look for? I want CSGO for cheap. Definitely have an eye towards Xenonauts. If Remember Me gets a deep enough discount I'll probably grab it too. Hoping for a good deal on some PinballFX2 packs. Maybe Blade Symphony. I've been enjoying War of the Roses but sometimes the chaos of the melee around objectives becomes annoying. A game focused solely on duels is growing in appeal for me.
So I was trying to earn that community involvement badge. One thing you can do to earn it is use guides during a game from Steam.
I never used a game guide via shift+tab before, so I figured hey, I'll fire up Xenonauts, the only Steam game I have on my laptop (I'm with family and away from my gaming desktop).
Oh, right, I forgot a game I pimp every sale.
Don't read if you're incredibly sensitive and easily offended I guess? Fair warning since it does use strong words and who knows who might get offended on these forums sometimes.
The stretch goal run of our Charity drive will be starting in about 15 minutes. I'll be playing through the GOG version of System Shock 2 since its already all set up for widescreen/etc. I'll be streaming it live on my twitch (
) as well for anyone who wants to watch it. The videos will be uploaded as soon as i'm done playing.
Our Contributors decided that we'd be starting by picking Navy. Theres still time to pledge to donate, if we reach 1200 my mother will be playing some amnesia, and if we reach 1250 i'll be playing some Crazy Cat Love game that @Anoffday found and wants to play but is scared to.
Thanks guys.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
Thanks for letting me join the lot of you! This was the first random gem I found on Steam and I figured someone else may want to give it a shot. I've had a blast with it.
Thanks for putting this one up. It's been on my radar for a bit now.
So, as many of you know, there's currently a big Killing Floor event going on.
So, it's that time of year again.
Enjoy.
PM me for password, or hop in the Steam G&T chat. Though it may seem odd, our default password is all over the forums, and last time I did this we had a bunch of non-PA people taking all the server spots.

Hey, thanks @Nackmatholn for the very cool looking Leviathan: Warships!
It wasn't a wishlist, it was your top 3 recommendations for others to pick up when they go on sale, and why. Give people reasons to wishlist the games you mention.
Gotcha, my bad. The thread moves too fast now (during the sale I will be fucked).
Alright, so then:
Dishonored: Because I hear it is awesome, and it should hopefully hit around $7.50 during the sale. Ideally. Hopefully.
Age of Wonders: It is already an absurdly good value at $6, but at $1.50 I will be forced to gift a shitload of copies.
Dustforce: I never heard a lot about this from people, but it's a hard as balls platformer with a huge emphasis on precision. More people should own it.
Hey homps, I have a ton of Steam keys that I am trying to get rid of so help me get rid of them already geeze:
Humble Indie Bundle 1 (the very first one)
King's Bounty: The Legend x2
Men of War: Vietnam
Fantasy Wars
Real Warfare 1242
Real Warfare 2: Northern Crusades
Death to Spies: Moment of Truth x2
Off-Road Drive
Reign: Conflict of Nations x2
Death Track: Resurrection
Frozen Synapse
pee-emm me if you want some of them.

Wow, @Gear Girl just hit me to the bits with a shiny copy of Gunpoint!
Thank you very much!
If I was super-rich and could hand everyone a gift pack of "These games have made me super-happy, you probably don't have all of them, so go play them" my pack would look like this:
Crusader Kings II
Orcs Must Die! 2
Trine 2
Defender's Quest
Defense Grid
Magic: The Gathering 2013/Magic: The Gathering 2014 (either/or/both)
Remember Me
Remember Me is mediocre game and a fantastic cyberpunk story. If you enjoy cyberpunk stories like Neuromancer, Altered Carbon, Deus Ex, Blade Runner, etc, you owe it to yourself to play Remember Me. Great visuals, great music, great concepts, and while the game play itself isn't going to blow anyone away it still holds up decently.
Magic: The Gathering 2013/2014 are both good games. It's most of the fun of the physical game, and there's always a reason to play just one more game to unlock just one more card. There's fantastic strategic depth that I greatly appreciate. I'd give our 2013 in this hypothetical pack, as I think it's the slightly better game, but both 2013 and 2014 are great.
Trine 2 is one of the prettiest games ever made in my opinion, with some of the best music. It's like playing a storybook by times. The story isn't particularly deep, but the game itself is fun, and there are times that I just stop and look at the screen and smile.
Defender's Quest is simple but challenging fun. It's an indie game with graphics best described as charming, and it does everything right. It tells a story, it can provide challenges for people new to tower defense games and for the crustiest veterans of the genre.
Defense Grid has better graphics than Defender's Quest, and actual voice overs, and when I got it I didn't play much else until I'd gotten a... sufficient... score on each level. It's also a joy to play with a controller.
Orcs Must Die! 2 is the final tower defense game on my list, and falls into the hybrid shooter/TD genre. Being able to see up close as the Orcs get stabbed, slashed, burned, frozen, chopped, crushed, smashed, zapped, dissolved, ground-up, flattened, thrown, exploded, and otherwise murdered makes me very happy, to a degree that makes me worry. It's an incredibly fun game, and I can't recommend it highly enough.
Crusader Kings II is not for everyone. There is a joke about the game that after twenty hours in a person has a tenuous grasp of the basics of the game. It's not quite that bad, but it's a brutal, unforgiving game that will murder your family and kick you out of your ancestral home on a whim. One minute you can have a great king, a genius twenty-four year old master diplomat beloved by everyone for winning a Crusade, and then he can die of natural causes and you find yourself playing as his lisping four year old daughter and your realm is getting torn apart by revolt while Vikings raid your coast and the Caliph launches a Jihad against your holdings. The feeling you get on those rare times that that daughter subdues her vassals, converts the Vikings to the True Faith, retakes the lands lost to the Caliph and expands her realm at his expense, before going down in history as The Great? Priceless, worth the price of admission for that alone.
PS: There is a Game of Thrones mod.
I'd throw in Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed 2 and the Mass Effect games, but this list is about games that people are not quite as likely to have. If you don't have them, you should totally get them.

I've still never played past level 2ish. I really should give it the old college try... Which means drink heavily and halfass it.

If you don't have Defender's Quest, get it. It is Tower Defense + RPG + hilarity.
If you don't have Rogue Legacy, it may get shoved down your throat. Where else can you be a gay lich queen with IBS?
PAYDAY. HEISTS. GET IT.

But there were no game guides for Xenonauts!
So I made one.

I think mine would be slightly too easy: Sheep.

As to being on the Roulette board...I'm not entirely too sure how I feel about that. LOOK THE OTHER WAY.

I'm not balding, I just buzz my head because I'm a stay at home dad and the last thing I care about worrying about is my hair.
And there were already too many forumers using The Dude as their avatar so I just switched to my 360 avatar.
