It's achewood, as in stomach-ache. Chris Onstad has some sort of mythology that the town of Achewood gets in name from how miners in days past would drink moonshine called achewater, which was called so because of the stomach-aches it would cause.

I've started reading this from the beginning. I started at work on Monday and I'm about half way through May 2004 so far.

Hells yes, I decided that reading Achewood was a much better way to spend my time than studying for finals. Up to March 05 and I can't believe I was missing so much awesome.
