But Achewood isn't even the God-damned Opera. It's just a good TV show that requires you to think for a half second before undestanding the joke.

I don't watch TV, so some one give me a good example of a show that's like this.

i mean, don't get me wrong

    i read pvp

i stay caught up on it

but i like it with the same part of my brain that likes peanuts, there ain't nothing there but a mindless chuckle

you don't gotta think, you just skim it and go 'heh'. it's empty calories. but man, you need some variety, and what i am getting is that someone has insinuated that achewood is smarter than pvp (which is unarguably true) and he's gotten butthurt about it.

that fat sack of crap has to realize on some basic level that he's writing the simplest, most formulaic stuff. which if done well (as scott does) isn't neccesarily a bad thing

but shit don't tear someone down because a dude has some vision and you have fat rolls hanging in front of your eyes

I'm not that wild about most achewoods, but I guess that's because I don't really read it regularly.
However, some have made me laugh.

Well, there really isn't anything deeper about jerk city.

I'm the kind of dude who thinks it is funny to say BALLS really loud in a quiet fancy restaraunt. Jerk city is the same deal. It's crude for the sake of being crude because sometime just saying DONG is pretty funny.

Yes, I know, that's what I'm saying. I don't think that Achewood is too subtle and high-brow; but it seems that Kurtz does.

So it's like having a dude watch... I don't know, how 'bout the West Wing. That show is okay and funnny sometimes.

It's like having a dude watch the West Wing and go "Man, I hate the opera."

    It's like that?

I haven't seen that show, but let's go with it.

So yeah it would be like someone watching it and going "this is too smarty-smart compickated fur me HUUUUHHHHHHH" and basically reacting like you'd expect a 5-year-old to react to opera.

    oh lord no

jerk city isn't funny all the time

in fact, i'd give it a .500 batting average

but there's like ten billion strips available, so if i'm in the mood for a dong/rape/rapedong joke i only have to go there and hit the random button a couple of times before i get a good one

it really isn't the sort of strip you fire up and read hundreds of them in a sitting

I have an opinion about Achewood: it's real funny sometimes, and most of the time it's stupid. Whenever someone talks about it like art I have to shake my head to get the nonsense out.

Pretty much all the funny content in it is how the characters talk. Comics should be funny -I do not regard drama as a thing comics should try for, or movies for that matter.

Seriously drama is retarded. Don't people have LIVES? Aren't those an exceptional source for drama? If you have to go watch a movie about people being miserable it should also involve them being destroyed so viewing it could be cathartic. That's why I liked Requiem for a Dream -that and the soundtrack.
