I've said in this forum previously, that I think they are letting ilvl inflation go a little out of hand on purpose, so they have more/better data to back up their need for item squish.
Although I agree with someone on here who said that they could just reduce ilvl on endgame gear from previous expansions and create a ton of headroom.
it's paced previous expansions, more or less.
Part of the 'problem' is that there are now four difficulty levels to support, which means the gap between one tier and the next has to be much bigger than it was previously

Also, adding on the -forged items and valor upgrades complicates it even more. +8 from upgrading, +6 from -forged items, +14 for both. It's insane.

Woooooooooo.... Thok and Klaxxi down! All that's left is Garrosh!
We changed our strat for phase 2 of Thok so that everyone just stands in the center and we basically kite him in a circle around the room. Worked WAY better - was always obvious where he was going, ranged had good up-time on him, and heals were much easier.
I got the shaman set from dark shamans, it's kinda neat
I want the set, but have virtually no chance with my schedule.
It probably looks stupid on trolls anyways and I'm fine continuing to use the 456 level PvP set as my transmog. I'm not even a little tired of the clippy hat.

So, speculation ahoy. Blizzard just posted a new hippogryph mount "reward" that will be available "soon". This is the latest in a series of nature-themed mounts and pets (Stormcrow - datamined, unreleased, Faerie Dragon mount - datamined, unreleased and the Ancient Guardian battle pet).
Current scuttlebutt seems to point toward an Emerald Dream-centric expansion. Oh, and they just trademarked the title 'Heroes of the Storm' which is listed as 'computer games that may be accessed via a global computer network', for whatever that's worth.

Or it could be their DOTA stuff. Or a Hearthstone thing. Hell, it's Blizzard.
I want it to be the name of the next expansion set in Outland. :P

Sure, it definitely could be anything, but given that Blizzcon is a month away I think it's increasingly likely that we're looking at the expansion title, unless they register yet another title between now and then.

Just the other day I was thinking how very badly I want them to not include flying in the next expansion. It will never happen, because the dumbs would pout and stamp their feet.

I've got mixed opinions on flying mounts. On the one hand, they definitely make traveling a lot faster and easier, but on the other, that comes with its own host of problems like making the world feel smaller and less dangerous on the whole. Still, flying mounts are too firmly entrenched in the game at this point to remove them. I think the 'no flying until level cap' is a good compromise, but admittedly I'd prefer the Wrath method of letting your alts fly sooner because by the time alt #5 is ready to start leveling I want to jump out a window. That's more my problem for rolling so many alts, though. Going through it naturally once or twice is fine.
Saw the thread title and had to go read who the new Warchief is. Soooo happy about that.
Not to pick on you, but it's always funny to see all of the time and effort that Blizzard puts into over-arching narrative, lore, and backstory, then somebody logs in and asks, "Hey, can anyone tell me what the heck happened with the Lich King in Icecrown ? Why can't I get the Wrathgate event to start ?"
Blizz brought it on themselves imo. This is the first narrative choice they've made since vanilla WoW that I actually like. Even the setup of making Garrosh warchief was stupid imo. I'm sure there's people out there that like what they've been doing though, so whatever.

I still want them to make Battle for Undercity into a scenario. Stick it in Caverns of Time so it makes sense in context. It was a fun event though, that shouldn't be thrown away :P
Ditto on opening the AQ gates (take some liberties obviously since it was a world event, but you still have all the assets, it shouldn't be too much work to script some events together)

the drop rate on it doesn't seem to be that bad, at least based on how many people I see running around with it transmogged. Not sure if it drops in LFR or flex, or just normal/H.
anyway
I always thought the wrathgate stuff was sort of silly; it never made that much sense to me that sylvanas would be enough of an absentee landlord to just let varimathras/putress operate right under her nose. Seemed like a lot of work just to give bolvar a send-off.
Personally I was hoping that sylvanas would wind up being warchief; I like vol'jin but the whole alliance/horde having a truce thing is just kind of blahhhhh. I like it when the leaders are being dickbags and attacking one another, even if garrosh' shtick got old after a while.

Well, no one found the trademarks for Hearthstone or the Diablo 3 expansion, Reaper of Souls, before they were announced. So it's quite possible that Blizz has found a way to hide it.
Oh, hey, what's this Blacksmithing recipe thing I found while fighting Sha in the Vale... "Balanced Trillium Ignots"...
...
...crafted il553 gear? Nice. Going to take bloody freaking forever to make... and I do wish BS's could disenchant plate stuff themselves for the spirits...

Where do you learn the 553 gear? Are they random procs from making the Ingots? My BS has made a few but I don't think she knows any of the new armor that uses them.
Looks that way. When I learned the recipe for the Balanced Trillium Ignots, I got a recipe for plate DPS pants (Avenger's Trillium Legplates) as well. It mentions that you learn new patterns when you make the ingots on cooldown.

Yes, it's dumb. I have enough Leather to make a nice belt for myself but I still lack the pattern because I keep getting PvP garbage. Pissing me off.
I'm trying to decide if the belt or pants will be more profitable to sell. I'd guess belt, but maybe the pants will be in shorter supply since most other people would be thinking that way? Hmm...
Officially the unluckiest CCG player ever.

Belt. Pants will be replaced by tier which can be gained from the Celestials, so even non-raiders can get the same ilvl pants. Belt is replaced by nothing except doing Normal or above, or Ordos which most people don't have a cloak for.
I love flying mounts, but they have an adverse effect on world PvP, as being in the air means you never have to engage except on your own terms.
Give us aerial mounted combat. Air-to-air. Just make air-to-ground attacks impossible/weak/dismount you, to prevent abuse.
I realize this will never happen. But it'd be awesome if it did.
As long as they made it some sort of vehicle based thing. Arial combat would be horrible for melee if it was just using your normal abilities.
An interesting alternative would be if flying mounts took 5-10 seconds to summon, so that they would still be useful for getting around longer distances but couldn't be used as a quick escape. That would have the side benefit of making ground mounts more useful since they'd have a niche for traveling shorter distances.
Then again being corpse camped is never fun and that would undoubtedly happen. Perhaps they could make it so you're not PvP flagged for 15 seconds after rezing even on PvP servers? That way you could kill someone once but camping wouldn't be possible (at least in flyable areas).

I agree, but if everyone else is making belts and not pants for that reason, there might be a supply deficit there.
Looking at it, it makes Wrath better than Nourish, but if you don't generally use Nourish then it's not likely you'll use it instead. I don't know if its heals are smart, if they aren't then I don't think it'd be good to have all the time and would only be useful for certain fights and maybe also proving grounds/challenge modes.
I'm willing to roll on whatever server, grind the guild rep and money for them on my own. I cannot find any Alliance guilds on my server, and nobody wants to run challenge modes.
idk about the serpent hatchling, but for the page/herald you can just roll an alt on any server with a decent alliance population and some guild (that prob has those unlocked) will invite you within minutes, if not seconds. if they don't, just gquit and wait for the next blind invite
I think the Page and Herald are annoyingly some of the only pets that aren't account-wide. Unless they changed it, I remember having to still buy them on multiple characters.
I'm gearing up a new lvl 90 rogue in timeless isle to get ilvl 496 gear to do SoO LFR and it's taking too long IMO. This grinding is weighing on me. People see that advertisement to do LFR SoO and it's gonna be a while until you can do it unless you had good gear from the previous patch.

Opening all the 30+ chests on the island tends to be a good first step, since it gets you one guaranteed burden and some possibles in addition to a hefty amount of armor tokens. Biggest problem is getting weapons since the ones you can buy for timeless coins are quite terrible but on the other hand the lower level lfrs are fast as hell these days since everyone is packing 496 armor.
