Dear god, does anyone know a way to make the new homescreen animated "My friend did something!" scroller to go the hell away? This is miserable. People WANTED this?
Wow first impression is I don't like this new interface. I liked the little box right there to go friends, I see it has its own tab, but I really do not like how that tab looks. Why can't I just have what I had?
*edit* Now that snap friends is a thing, maybe it won't be so bad.
so just in case anyone has missed it, both Sunset Overdrive and Halo: MCC are available to pre-order/pre-load on the Xbone. and if they are any indication then digital pricing may be improving as both are priced £45 in the UK. not sure about pricing in other regions, but i would hope that pricing is closer to retail in all locations.

I have a similar problem with the screen looking off. The old location of the friends thing nicely framed the big current app tile so it was closer to the center of the screen and made it so the right side column of ads was up against the edge of the page. Now that the friend button's gone everything's been shifted to the left which makes the current app tile look too far left and allows the friends area stuff to overflow into the main view. So instead of feeling like you're looking at a page, now it feels like you're looking at part of a big long scroll which is basically a mobile/tablet UI design and one I don't think works well on a console.
Anyone in here on the Madden or NHL Ultimate Team bandwagon? I just got into Ultimate Team for Madden and keep getting disconnected and having sessions stop, and was curious if it's a game issue or a me issue.

I think the new Xbox One menu design is pretty bad compared to what we had, I liked the symmetric look we had before and now I got a half visible friend tag in the far right corner, How is that useful? I cant even read most of it until I highlight the tab, rendering it effectively useless.
I like the mini menu even if it still feel a bit sluggish when in a game, but I'd still prefer the old main menu look + all the new stuff, including the mini menu thing.

Surprised nobody is talking about the new update, you can change the background color of the Home screen now, add Achievement art as your background (and personal pictures from your PC are coming in a few weeks) , and they're adding a "What's On" tab next to Friends. They've also added a way for you to add 6 "gamer highlights" to your profile page for others to see. So you pull up someone's profile and their top 6 screenshots/vids/achievements that they have set as their highlights will all be featured. I think that comes at the expense of the new giant gamerpics though, it seems like they've scaled those back to the 360 size instead of the half-screen images we have now on profiles.

I had some Best Buy rewards points and a gift card laying around so I pre-ordered Sunset Overdrive. I was going to wait on it, but the footage they let people stream hooked me.
So, I might have to buy another One once a couple games hit so we can play some non split-screen co-op in the house. Are there any good bundles planned? I see that the 1TB hard drive is now the standard.
Looks like Grand Theft Auto san Andreas is getting an updated port to the Xbox 360. I don't know how much it is but it is adding achievements and upscale to 720p.
According to a Kmart adscan, it appears Kmart will have a sale on the Xbox One console for $349.99 beginning Nov 9th. It also appears SYW members will get $60 back in points if they purchase any featured games or accessories. So if you're itching to get an Xbox One and can wait at least two weeks, this could be your chance.

Shadow Warrior is out on the marketplace...Anybody played it on PC or here?
The old school shooter fan in me makes me wonder if it is worth the $40.
I just picked up the 3D Realms Anthology on my PC, and it has me in such a nostalgic mood that I'm probably buying both Shadow Warrior and Wolfenstein just to continue scratching that itch.
Now if they'd just remake Commander Keen on the Xbone, I'd be happy.

My 360's on WiFi so it's still downloading. People are streaming on twitch though and it looks a lot smoother. Never played the android version so I can't compare but it looks much better than the Xbox Original one.

I love the new Xbox One controller, its the best controller I've ever tried, but they really took some steps backwards with that recharging cable, why does it feel so flimsy and says my "controller disconnected" everytime I plug the charger in?
A friend of mine's controller made a static noise in party chat when he was charging it, he got it replaced, my controller charger doesnt do that but it does not feel as solid as the one the Xbox360 had.
The controller charger is just a bog standard micro USB cable, same as many non-Apple phones use. If it's saying "controller disconnected" it's likely because it's turning off the Wifi mode and switching to wired and not doing it quick enough for the console to consider it connected the whole time.
I think the 360 version plays a bit smoother, but it still has a lot of the jerkiness the original did. The problem with the resolution being upped is that the models look much nastier than before, even though they are the same. Do yourself a favor and choose standard controls rather than original. The original puts the gas and pedalling on the A button instead of the left trigger because of the analog buttons of the older systems.
I'm really liking the achievements and being able to play and be on LIVE at the same time. Maybe I'll actually finish the game now.
As for the rewards points, I have signed up for that Bing search rewards and I get around $10 in LIVE money a month. It's really handy for picking up the random $5 sale game or a little DLC here and there and only takes me about five minutes a day on my tablet and phone to get 25 points. With that and the games with gold, I've got more than enough 360 games to last me awhile.
