Help with hand held audio recorders and quick.

This is in British Columbia for reference

So long story short all the higher ups where I work are power tripping dicks who think the law doesn't apply to them. My manager calls demanding we have a meeting about my occasional tardiness. He only works 4 days a week during the day, most of the employees work graveyards(security company) including myself. He tried to suspend me until I would come in but I managed to convince him to come in a little bit early after my shift.

I need an audio recorder that I can put in my pocket to record the conversation for evidence and I'm not sure where to find an affordable one. I'm pretty short on money right now. I also need it in 4 days.

He knows full well why I'm late. My GF has a severe disability and requires me to help her with nearly everything, when I get up for work she can be in enough pain that it can take hours to get her out of bed therefore making me late as well. She needs an in home caregiver but I'm all she has so it falls to me to do it.

On top of this my GF's disability payments were cut off in Feb which was 2/3rds of our total income and we are no longer going to be paying rent starting next month. We are looking at lawyers to help deal with this.

I have had a supervisor I used to work with and was on really good terms with. He complained to me every single day that the day guy was ALWAYS 10 minutes late. I heard this for at least 6 months and I'm sure he didn't get in shit for it despite my immediate supervisor complaining constantly to the managers.

They have outright disobeyed orders from WCB( I didn't have the energy to push WCB to do something more after the first report) I have personally helped investigate employees who have destroyed company property and put contracts at risk(this person wasn't even fired) and have had 4 different people tell me what can only be described as very blatant fraud against clients.

Unfortunately I am not a person who just bends over when told to so I've been targeted every time this manager needs to get his power trip on and I'm sick of it. I'm going to confront him on the things I've mentioned plus more and I want it on tape. The last meeting I went to they sent me an email afterwards stating "so this is what we talked about" and all of it was bullshit and not even close. They have in person meetings so they can not be held accountable to anything.

TLDR- managers a dick, need secret audio recorder for a meeting.

my understanding with Canadian law is that you cannot use a recording of someone in legal or court cases without having advised them that you are recording them. So tread lightly
