Hey, grain of salt, but this post on Neogaf is making on the rounds on /v/ right now.
Steam just stealth rooted everyone. No, seriously. Remember Blizzard's "Warden" anti-cheat measures? Well, Steam has something like that now. Hooks into core Windows DLLs and if you try to use a trainer in a game, it doesn't matter if you're online or offline, it'll crash out. In fact, it doesn't even matter if it's a Steam game. I put most of my GoG collection into the Steam launcher because, what the hell, why not - but go to use a trainer or edit the memory, and it's game over.
This is a level of invasive, malware-like activity that concerns me greatly. I sometimes cheat in single player games. I don't give half a shit about achievements, I just like to enjoy the game on my terms. They're single-player, why not? Apparently because Valve says so, is why not.
Huge grain of salt, his "source" is awful at best, but you never know.
If true, I would take it as confirmation of a meta game. Can't have people training up their prizes, now can we?

Naw, just the CheatHappens trainer guys suck at making their trainers:
From Gibbed, probably the main reason we know about any Steam upcoming game leaks, among other technical Steam (he made Steam Achievement Manager) and general PC gaming stuff:
As far as I can tell it's a crash in GameOverlayRenderer.dll's LoadLibraryA hook due to an invalid pointer being passed off to stricmp (probably the library name getting freed before the hook code executes?). Definitely not an anti-cheat mechanism.
I couldn't find @HiT BiTs original post about @cooljammer00 but I sumbled upon it on the workshop page. I changed the background so you could get on board the scribblenauts avatar bandwagon.

Valve employee already responded: It's just a handler bug. They rolled out a quick fix and will be working on a more permanent one.
...and I somehow ended up with an extra copy of ep.1 weird.
It's possible you were targeted by multiple people, almost simultaneously. Not that I'd know anything about that.
:winky:
Well that made the ninja gifting it to @Wooden Spoon even better. I got to gift the two biggest targets almost at the same time!
I object!
I'm not that big.
People are getting me confused with you, obviously.
I'm actually scared to come back into town at the end of the Dale. I know that when I get back into the states and power up my phone, I'm going to have 6,000 steam and work emails to go through.

I saw it on Hit Bit's Steam Workshop page but couldn't figure out a way to download it. Thanks!
Guess who got a rather large bonus at work today for basically doing absolutely nothing? This guy!
Be prepared to have your collective faces stuffed with gifts this summer dale.
I wish being a stay at home dad could earn you bonuses.
Like...one morning when I get my son up he just says "Dad, today, instead of having a meltdown every time you want to actually do something, here's a few thousand dollars!"
Well...that'd actually probably just freak me the fuck out because he just turned one and my 4 year old doesn't even speak that well.
But still!
EDIT: Actually, a bonus would just be him not having a meltdown every time I wanted to do something. That would feel like a few thousand bucks. :P
I don't know how you do it.
I can't speak for any other stay at home parents, but for me, it's mostly spending 3/4 of my day thinking "God I wish I could just take a nap" and then when the kids are in bed, the last thing I want to do is go to sleep.
What I'm saying is: perpetual (partially self inflicted) sleep deprivation :P
Games aren't gonna play themselves.
My wife and I have partially offset schedules, such that I have Saturdays mostly alone with my son while she has Mondays.
Every Saturday afternoon, when Tommy (21 mos.) goes down for his nap, I think: I need to just go lay down and take a nap. I never get to really sleep in. I should take advantage of this.
I *always* end up in the office playing something because, like, "Hey - a free uninterrupted hour-and-a-half-to-two of whatever I want to do."
Also, my son's getting partially addicted to PlanetSide 2. He likes when we go into the VR training area and drive around in the "cars" (tanks) and the "cars" + "airplane noises" (airplanes, natch).

So I was two games from my 100 games milestone, and @anoffday decided to go ahead and get me there now instead of waiting for the Dale. That's one classy fuck right there. Thanks!
So, my cat has single handedly taken all my monies that were to be used on the Dale and used them on himself. So I'm really hoping for some more meta stuff this Dale.

I keep up my wishlist meticulously, which is probably rather silly.
I add games willy-nilly all year, then prune it down before the big sales so I know what to focus on. It's wild territory order of importance wise outside the top 1/3 of it or so, but it's still something.

I just throw shit on there when I see it so I can remember what I thought was cool.

But, what is this /v/ he's speaking of? I never ever ever go to neogaf.

Congrats to @DHS Odium on winning the SEGA Pack 2
I'll be back with a few more SEGA giveaways tonight.

Who? Why? There will be justice for this!

No it's HiT's I just put a couple thousand hours in photoshop and changed his background since cooljammer hadn't started using it yet.
"Not sure if people are just now watching Street Fighter: The Movie, or if it's just Tuesday..."
Save them as a GIF instead of JPG before uploading them to the site. It'll prevent the nasty jpeg artifacting in the solid color blocks.
Just my response to the recent influx of the "It was Tuesday" meme. Just the within the last 50-ish posts I saw it like 3-4 times.
I do await the oncoming Dale. My wishlist is nice and plump, and grows every day. Has anyone tried Dark yet?
Edit - Whoa, reply/avatar inception.
Bring on the Dale.
Did you know there was a Canadian game called the yukon trail? Same thing as Oregon Trail but in Canada.

EDIT: also, it was tuesday meme?
I was going to try to give your avatar a tophat and keep it animated the other day.
but when I broke down the gif it was like 100 different images and man I don't have the software, or patience for that. :P
You should take the still one @HiTBiT made you and be merciful.

Well now I can't tell if my avatar is artifacting or not.

Just kidding, hope he's OK.

I also tried, rotation is significantly harder to animate than just moving stuff around the frame.
I just throw shit on there when I see it so I can remember what I thought was cool.
Then I never check it so I forget anyway!
