Oh, man. Someone missed the Steam Thread that was devoted to parenting advice. We seriously had pages and pages worth of age-appropriate recommendations, from the one-handed games to non-violent shit once they can see what's on screen. For what it's worth, my 2.5 year old has caused me to set up a "Child Friendly" category in steam. Let me blampage post the list:

Awesome, I saved that list, luckily I already have some of them too.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

So how did the Best buy thing work out last night? Did they eventually cancel out all the outstanding orders?
Mine never got cancelled, but I never got a key.
So who knows!
I had my biannual call with my CC fraud department just now. They said that the penny charge was still pending. So at least Best Buy isn't earning precious interest on my dough while I wait for them to cancel the order.
EDIT: Also using a different CC to add funds to my wallet locked me out of the market for a week. Grrrrr....
I feel like the only way to win the card collecting meta game is not to play.
The way to win is to sell your cards on the market and get free games for nothing.
In other news, I picked up Dragon Age: Origins complete and Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition for less than $20.00 combined.
I'll never get out from under this backlog.
Very nice. I recall you saying you enjoyed the difficulty of Rogue Legacy in that thread. Well, you're going to enjoy the hell out of Dark Souls. Just make sure you read the thread to get the rendering fix.

Well, in the interest of spending more money before the sale rolls over. Hows the Endless Space dlc? I have the base game and like it. What does the DLC add that's worth it?
Guys, guys! AnteCantelope is doing his code contest thingy, and included a code in his latest gift to me (Don't Starve)! He says we need to use TEAMWORK in order to solve this. I'm assuming that means a number of you have also received a code in your gift message from him. I'll just throw mine out there, it's 01000001. Perhaps others should reply to this message to chain together the various numbers?
That is the letter A in binary.
Is that the only clue?
Yeah, I knew that was A in binary. Didn't necessarily just want to ANNOUNCE it to the thread, thought maybe folks would add their codes they'd received from Ante's gifts are responses. I mean, I'm ASSUMING the whole answer isn't "A", especially as he said teamwork's required. Also, if everyone gets a binary letter, what order are they assembled? Is it a word, a sentence, or a game code? That would be... A LOT OF GIFTS! I wouldn't put it past the man...
Wait. Nobody else has come forward. @AnteCantelope, I'm READY TO SOLVE THE PUZZLE! The answer is, Henry Winkler. Right? Question is, who was the actor that played a character whose catch phrase was this word, clue is "A"?
So you hit me with Kinetic Void!?
Seriously, you've already gifted me a game! That's cheating! Just you wait til corrigan gets back. Your husband will be pleased. No winky, that's serious.
But for real, thanks! I am swamped in games on only day 1!
... I bought him Defiance earlier today ...
edit: I'll find someone else to give it *kicks dirt*
Curses! I thought Isorn was buying a 4-pack. Thanks a lot Isy!
Now I'll have to find something else to spend my trading card profits on. I hope you're happy!
Should clarify. The copy you got is not the one Elin didn't get @rhan. She told me after I bought yours that she already got her husband defiance. So I still have that extra copy. Need t to find a suitable candidate!
I joke woke up to see Another World in my inventory courtesy of @heirtransparent! Thanks, I've always wanted to try that out!

Crusader Kings II should be on the list. If they're not yet of reading age, then they have no idea what's going on. If they can read, they're old enough to understand the utility of murdering enemies/allies/family to get what you want.
Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.
If anyone doesn't have all the Civs in Civ V, they are currently on sale. The gold edition upgrade to your current Civ V is only 5 bucks, down from 20. Given each civ is normally 5 bucks each, this is very very worth it.

Should I hold onto my cards till after the sale to sell or at least the last couple of days?
So, while I was sleeping, @dougyfresh and @AnteCantelope each decided I was looking a bit peckish. I now have two copies of Don't Starve pending in my lovebox. First of you two to PM me that you've got another target gets your gift rejected, to give to another. Thanks and thanks!
Sorry @AnteCantelope, Dougy got back to me, his friends list is full of fat people, nobody's gonna starve there. So, you'll have to find another victim, GIFT REJECTED!

Sounds like appropriate behavior to me. Don't forget the foils!

No, we go on adventures like the Adventure Club from South Park.
They cancelled mine, but I was late to the party anyway. Definitely worth a shot even though I wasn't expecting it to come through.

One of those segments is backwards!
Thanks! I'm going to try to check in on the Sale while out of town, hopefully I can manage to give out some stuff from my friend's place.
I wish it'd been Dishonored last time though. I really wanted to play that but couldn't afford it.
Ok I'm sold, gonna buy this game when I get home from work tonight.

If it's not too late, spend the extra 2.50 for ALL the DLC. That's what I did.
Plus there's also the Gentlemen of the Port.
How much is Dark Souls? I didn't see it on the sale list when I looked.
Wait. Nobody else has come forward. @AnteCantelope, I'm READY TO SOLVE THE PUZZLE! The answer is, Henry Winkler. Right? Question is, who was the actor that played a character whose catch phrase was this word, clue is "A"?
