I was there! That John Drake guy brought the ruckus and cracked me up so on a whim I went to the Fantasia panel the next day he was at and ended up getting one of those Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey Mouse figures under my seat!

The first dancin dude looked pissed he didn't get a toy.
I turned off the panel video once they were trying to figure out how to give the stuff away and Jeff suggested everyone do an Ice T impression. I don't even know if anyone tried, but I can only imagine the douchechills and I had to shut it off.

What was the Galaxy game they were talking about around 20 minutes in? I tried searching, but searching Google for "Galaxy" or "Galaxy game" doesn't really get me much relevant...

So I was informed! and I am quite excited over it.
... I need a new rig. Not for that game in particular, I just want to actually enjoy Sleeping Dogs. But first... a laptop/tablet hybrid. Well.. okay, maybe first is a job where I don't feel on the brink of financial ruin.

Sleeping Dogs is maybe my favorite open world game ever.
I love the way it actually attempts to address the issue most open world games have where you are usually supposed to be in the shoes of an at least somewhat sympathetic protagonist, but the game allows you to do all sorts of horrible shit and it never really even acknowledges it.
In Sleeping Dogs, acting like a psychopath will get you a bunch of Triad rep because being a psychopath is a big benefit in their line of work, but your Police rep will suffer for it. In game terms this means that getting certain skills will be easier or more difficult depending on how you play.
It also helps that the combat is really satisfying and fun, as long as you're not shooting.
I just started up Sleeping Dogs. I can see why Vinny loved the game but boy if the animations aren't super stiff looking. It's even more jarring with all the features turned up and the high rez texture pack installed.
The Bombcast apparently has ads now. I'm always glad to see them get more support. Gerstmann hasn't been sounding real upbeat when making jokes about the financials of GB.

They apparently do decently well, but I always get the impression CBS wants CBSi to be more profitable than it is. Hence the more aggressive push for ads, which I don't mind if they're done well.

Anyone else listen to This is Only a Test still? They were talking on last week's podcast about a video of a drone with a GoPro shooting images of sunrises and such. Any idea where this is? I've searched YouTube and Vimeo with not much luck (not like "drone" and "gopro" doesn't give a ton of links back or anything).

it helps that the ads are pretty fucking funny
Also, losing all their equipment at E3 probably took a huge bite out of their budget.

Jeff just mentioned that he lost his work laptop at E3. Was that with all the other equipment or did it get nicked on the show floor?

But man, if ever there was an "I wish Ryan was still here" moment, it would be for reading ad copy.
