No one QL'd like Ryan. But man, pretty much anyone is more fun to watch do a QL than Brad. I like him on the Bombcast, but on his own I just can't watch much of him.

Brad is just unable to play a game and talk at the same time.
Someone would need to sneak up on him with a camera to prove to me that it's not just the talking.
Like I said, I try not to dislike him but he makes it hard. It's not even really the video game playing. He often says stuff that is just flat out wrong and acts like it is gospel. I also dislike when people are on their phones all the time, which he does constantly in the bombcast.
Really it's just him talking about social issues. He gives most games a fair chance, and out of all of them is the one most likely to try something new and strange.
He's fantastic and fits the role of "news guy" really well, which is something that was kind of lacking from the site before he joined up.

I didn't get it either. Then tumblr accidentally enlightened me. I legitimately think that a good portion of the Patrick hate comes from this exact sentiment.
The internet haaaaaates patrick. I just don't care for him on the bombcast/QLs sometimes, probably about brad on the phone tier. I like his writing/news though.
I don't get the love for Patrick. Or the hate.
The only time I really roll my eyes is when he is attending a PR event, and want to be mr Scoops, and get all cranky when the pr rep won't spill some hot scoops for him.
There's the odd moment where I really like Brad, like when he wouldn't back down to Jeff's bullshit argument that Bioshock 2's mediocrity should disqualify Minerva's Den from winning DLC of the year. It's a separate bloody story, Bioshock 2's mediocrity is completely irrelevant. ME3 may be terribad but if Citadel wins this year, I'll be fine with it (though I haven't played it).
It had the best gameplay of the series, the best squad interactions of the series, the best camera and sound direction of the series, and despite some story issues here and there, was able to wrap up long running plot lines I was invested in like the genophage and Geth in ways I found very satisfying.
ME2 was probably a better total package but the highs of ME3 were the best moments in the trilogy.
Even though DOTA2 was released in 2013, considering it's essentially an unchanged (other than graphics/etc) version of a super old mod I just don't see it really getting recognized.

On the Brad hate - I like him because I can relate. His boring, monotone way he talks about games is like me when I'm sober, and he's bad at games, like me.
I'm really starting think that dota is my GOTY 2013. I can't think what else I have consistently out my time into and felt as rewarded, vidja games wise
