when the type train derails and serious time has come, i reflexively spray a noxious musk out of what ignorant scientists have often mistaken to be a second butthole
the cloud of pheromones confuses my opponents and causes them to forget how to react to basic mix-ups
then, like a sex-starved manticore closing in on its prey, i slowly lower my crotch down upon the back of my opponent's head and mount them while i launch my lethal assault
How does one do moves that require full circle inputs, like Zangief, without just jumping around like a dummy? I haven't received my stick yet, so I'm still using my Dualshock4 which might be part of the problem. But even with the miniscule knowledge I have in regards to fightan gaems, I feel like jumping and doing the input before hitting the ground is not the way to go.
Peewi got it right. You only need four cardinal directions, and the last one can be any of its diagonal variants. For example, I do b, d, f, uf+p.
I start from b so that I can use it to punish blocked attacks. You can also buffer it in from a meaty hop knee, which will work as a tick throw on most people at this early stage.
This is really fantastic stuff to know! Thanks to you both

I grudgingly got a TE2 for PS4. I'm deeply bothered by it because I'm a PC Master Race user, but the tools to get it working are out there and I do have a PS4 so I'm needlessly nervous.

Don't think this was posted, but here's the Chun Li break down. Good for beginners and people still looking to gain some understanding of characters they don't already play.

i would suggest usin x360ce because a) u dont have to turn it on and b) joytokey possibly introduces input latency and im afraid pls hold me stig i dont want to lose
I go full Poongko and take off my shirt. Until I'm already shirtless and I'm still losing in serious mode.
Two words: stripper pants.
If there was actually an arcade in Toronto worth going to, I'd do it. As it is, the only arcades left are in theatres (and they're usually redemption games) or Dave and Busters (50/50 redemption, and arcade games from 10 years ago).

the local toronto scene is also a pool of really not friendly people
i went to 2 a&c games night, left both times disappointed at the atmostphere and the other plays not paying venue fees/hogging machines/being jerks
I love A&C Games for their value on used games. Come to think of it, they may also sell fightsticks for cheap. Hmm...
I also forgot they occasionally did a game night after they took over the dojo next door. It's been a while though. I don't even know if they're still doing that. There used to be a regular game night downtown but I was never able to go because I was in school and had work afterwards. I don't think there's any fight nights anywhere now. I remember hearing about a bar that was up and coming that was supposed to be big on streaming e-sports and FGC stuff. Wonder what's happened to that.
To the Googles!
EDIT: Was supposed to open June 2015. A comment left on an article about the bar is from as recent as Jan 25, 2016, and it's still not open. Ouch.

@Blue map good games! Girlfriend finally came home so I had to run. Fang is really interesting and that low forward is a pain in the aaaaaaass. Sorry I play super lame! I just use good normals because I have no sense of using the combos in a game. I tried to do more stuff. I missed a million inputs for IA Legs.

The Toronto SF scene has a reputation for being very, well, loud. That's a nice way of putting it. But they're not bad once you get to know them.
I haven't been to A&C since they moved, and never went for SF anyway. I imagine it's more of a public atmosphere than you'd get at a more formal gathering. And they must still be going on. Every other community in the city--and they're all tiny compared to SF--used A&C for public ranbats or the occasional small tourney, and had gatherings at people's houses and apartments.
There was also Lovegety, which is closed now. And Pacific Mall, which is mostly DDR and racing games now.
If I get the game, I'll look around to see if anyone's playing. If I find a place, I can let you know.

Lovegety wasn't the place north of Dundas Square that used to be below a giant SUNRISE sign, was it? No, that was Funland. I miss that place. Last time I was there, SC2 and TTT were the big games to play, but you saw plenty of guys manning up on the two SF3 machines.

Yeah, Funland was an unfortunate place. The same little cabal of assholes managed that place and all the other major arcades downtown in the 90s. They ran it into the ground, but I still miss the place. Whenever I'm downtown and have an hour to kill before a movie or something, I wish they were still there. Plus, they recovered the Tekken 3 machine where I had the win record, and now it's gone.
Having to have a ps4 controller plugged in to make ps3 controllers work definitely is not ideal in a tournament setting when the ps4 only has 2 USB ports.
Yeah, it was real nice of Capcom to (not) announce PS3 peripheral compatibility, then make it so onerous that they'll be banned from every major tournament and event. Someone's got Mad Catz' back.
Whoa I have no idea how to play against dhalsim. I've never played one online, and this dude just fucking ritually sacrificed me on the yoga altar in this tournament.

RIP Markman I guess they were doing him a favor by sacking his job in the Madcatz restructuring though. He was planning on leaving eventually anyway so I think he'll get some kind of severance or perks for having not quit...

Yup, I'm done with Gief, he's still fucking hosed for balance. Slower recovery for his normals than most character have for their specials, shit for range on ground throws where multiple other characters get better command throws that are faster and reach further, what armor he does get performs inconsistently, it is absolutely child's play for anybody to spam a light attack and prevent SPD attempts because even that is too fucking slow, whiffing an SPD means Gief is fucked while he can't do crap to punish almost any missed attacks by enemies, advancing with his pathetic "dash" means frequently eating hits to the face, and virtually any ground attack will beat out any of his air attacks.
Gief is about ten times more frustration than it's worth against any semi-intelligent opponent. It's fucking absurd that somebody like Ken can lob a fireball from a safe distance, dash behind the fireball, and safely DP me out of the air because I'm trying to bother advancing over the fireball by jumping. And if I clothesline to avoid the projectile instead? Oh, that's right, Gief is apparently the only character with actual recovery times from his specials, so they can easily do a low sweep or do something that leads into a combo.
I mean, I went up against somebody who I managed to pull out a win against by absorbing fireballs to build up V-trigger. The matches after that? The guy just hovered at mid range, because nothing Gief has can close the gap in time to do anything. Jump and you eat a dragon punch. Stand there and they can safely poke away until you make a mistake. Try to back away and you just get cornered, and Gief has shit options for getting out of the corner because everybody is faster than him at everything.
Figure I'll switch over to Birdie, who they seem to have given some actual damn reach to make up for his low speed. Because even if somebody figures how to make Gief decently competitive, it's just too much damned work to make up for Capcom's wretched handling of him.

you are either jumping from a crazy distance away in which the fireball is safe (in which case you should just neutral jump and then walk forward) or he is v trigger cancelling the fireball to be able to use that dash momentum to dp u
