[PATV] Thursday, July 11, 2013 - Shut Up & Sit Down Season 2, Ep. 10: Infinity Dungeon
I love the fact that Shut Up & Sit Down is keeping up the British end. References to Michael Barrymore and Mr Blobby do make me wonder how much of this our friends outside of blighty get though.

I might be one of the people who shouldn't play Infinity dungeon, because I was driven bonkers by the lack of explanation of how "the number" wins the room. I inferred rather heavily that the number is on the card (cause I saw numbers there), and that maybe the thumbs up thing maybe affected that number... and so numbers. Maybe we could get like ONE example of how TWO (sp) win a room FOUR (sp) us... I had to add some number there as the lack of actual number or information in the video was driving me bonkers... (sorry) Anyone care to explain the game some?
@DocGratis, it's at about 6:00 in the @Level99Games video below, I blinked and missed it the first time XD
I love hearing about new storytelling and creativity games. It seems to be on the rise lately, too, with a successful KickStarter for "Story War," Wheaton playing stuff like "Once Upon a Time" and "Dixit" on TT, a resurgence of RPGs that focus on storytelling instead of dice and stats, and the runaway "Cards Against Humanity" (or rather... ok, fine, "Apples2Apples-for-grownups"). Creativity games have mostly been stuck in the "guess what I'm doing" rut for ages (charades, "Pictionary," "Cranium," "LEGO Creationary").
It's interesting to see one with this much depth. The game seems like a mix of story-game and a nomic game! Cool.
(Actually, I confess I've only watched the below tutorial, I should probably watch the SU&SD I came here for now.)
Edit: Saw it! I'm so bad at this "commenting" thing.
I've had similar experiences where both gamers and "non-gamers" (who are nonetheless obsessed with bridge/poker/mahjong/LCR/etc.) were a bit pissed-off when playing games like this, even players who were ok with weird nomic games like "FLUXX," or role-bluffing games like "Mafia"/"Werewolf," or social games like A̶p̶p̶l̶e̶s̶ "Cards Against Humanity." I can play storytelling games with almost all kids and most adult gamers, but some people just are irked by this genre.

Thanks for the great review! I'll have to try Vodka Jellies now

I'm also surprised it took this long for "jello shots" to get across the pond.
