Well, have been at this all morning with no success, maybe someone else around here might be able to help.
While digging through some old stuff of mine I found a disc copy of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines I had bought YEARS ago. It never worked back then (Anyone familiar with the games history will understand why) and this was before the unofficial patch had been made, so I gave up on it. I found my copy, as previously stated, and thought I could finally get a return on that investment from so long ago by using the Unofficial patch.
THing is, the game still just won't work.
I've installed it, installed the unofficial patch, run it in Windows XP (SP3) compatibility mode, run as administrator... and it just won't work.
All the logos play, and right after the Troika logo the screen goes black and... nothing. No CTD, no error messages, no memory leaks, just a silent black screen with a cursor.
Google has been of no use as apparently NOBODY in the entire has experienced this problem. I'd really hate to have to toss this game in the garbage again, so all help is very much appreciated.
ALSO, before I forget, system specs:
Acer Laptop with Intel Cire i7-3632QM 2.2 GHz processor with Turbo boost up to 3.2 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M
6 Gigs of ram for the whole thing.
No, upgrading to windows 7 is not an option right now, I don't have the disc and neither does anyone I know, and I can't afford a new copy of Win 7 right now.
