There are no hardpoints in TT. Anything can carry any weapon or equipment, and heavier units have the space to mount more of it.
So in TT the DDC can carry ECM?
Sort of? In an extended campaign you could spend the $TEXAS C-Bills it would cost to do it, but it's incredibly expensive to do that sorta shit. Customizing Battlemechs is something that doesn't happen all that often fluff wise.
The salient point here is that there is no canonical basis whatsoever for the D-DC carrying ECM. They did it for the express purpose of compensating for the fact that the command console the D-DC does carry in canon has no function in the game yet. Ignoring the fact the D-DC is already arguably the single strongest 'mech in the game without it.
When/if the command console ever gets a function, hopefully they will take away the ECM.
And hopefully there will be tears.

So, I want to make a sprinturion but u want to make sure if I'm going to by an xl, that I'll be able to use it on more than just one mech. What would be a good engine? Currently I have a 300.

There is no canonical basis for a STK carrying 6 PPC's but this game allows it. The whole Command Console idea has been trashed anyway. Originally UAV, Airstrike and Artillery was supposed to be part of the Command Console.
You equip the Command Console (CC) and it had a open hardpoint on it that allowed for a Command Module (CM). It allowed 1 module to be installed on it. The Advanced Command Console (ACC) had 2 open hardpoints for it. The choices at the time (UAV, Airstike, Artillery, ECM).
Obviously, that version of the Command Console was scrapped because of the way consumables work right now. It was in a earlier version of the Test Server before they opened it to the public and decided to focus on 12v12 and stability.
I'm not saying the CC is gone, but I don't foresee it coming for quite a while.
Edit - Forgot to mention you unlocked the ACC as part of GXP.

Are there recent rules for this? It used to be that in a campaign you could replace any equipment with equal tonnage in a baseline time of 2 hours, in the field. The cost was basically the cost of the suite and the pay for the technician, who you're supposed to be dragging around as part of your party. But that was from, like, the now-decrepit 2001 Master Rules book.

I dunno, I had just always heard that it was not a small feat to swap things out on mech. It's why Omnimechs were regarded as so mindblowing. I need to get the other two core books I'm missing.
Well, at 17th on the heavy leaderboard now. 1858 points. Left home at 11:30am at 14th. Now 15th is at 1896. Need 39 points more. This would be ok except that I've been drinking for the last 5 hours straight, so not much chance of me getting anymore points now. How sad
But! The reason I left the house was to finally see Pacific Rim. So totally and completely worth it overall!

So how do you guys think they're going to handle the big right shoulder missile box on the Thunderbolt when it comes out? I am concerned. The side torsos look pretty sizable even without the missile drum, but if that thing counts as part of the right torso, it makes the Hunchback's lunchbox look like nothing. The T-Bolt is the upcoming 'mech I'm looking forward to most (well, it and the Orion) but if the whole right side of the 'mech is basically unusable and XLs aren't even an option (though most of my theorycrafted builds favor standards anyway) because of the missile launcher hitbox that is a major buzzkill.
On the other hand, they could take this as an opportunity to implement torso missile packs as separate hit locations. There's reason to believe that's their intent in the long run; I think shoulder boxes even flash on the damage ragdoll during the startup sequence. And when they get around to introducing 'mechs like Timber Wolf (Mad Cat) it's going to be even more of an issue.
Thoughts?

Well, things like missile boxes are a complex balance issue. If you treat them like an extra "limb", than mechs with extra bits get a significant chunk of extra armor, but if you treat them as having to share armor with part of a mech, then you end up with two very weak armor sections. Maybe if they're balanced such that the section they attach to can't carry weapons and the "extra" section is something very out-of-the-way? But if they're running an XL, they'd still get an advantage because somebody targeting the weapon box won't be able to take down the XL and vice versa. Or they could simply count as part of a torso section, but then you get the Hunchback issue of geometry that's too easy to hit.
Maybe have the hump/launcher act as a destroyed section and only transfer partial damage to the side torso? You could still blow out an XL by shooting at it, but it'd be faster just to aim for the main torso section itself.

To be honest, I pretty much don't use XL in any builds except Dragons and Catapults, even then it's pretty much out of necessity to get any decent speed out of the things. I'm not a huge fan of being three times as destructible if I can help it.
Edit: This is getting out of hand. My client crashes every game now, any suggestions on how to fix it? I'll Google it anyway.

Maybe you're just... unlucky. Scnr.
But more seriously, are you crashing to desktop or to mechlab? Because the latter is in pretty much all cases a network issue. It's tempting to call them crashes, because there's no error message and the fullscreen mode ends abruptly, but that's usually just a disconnect. Especially if you're also having other network troubles, it might be worth taking a look at your router, and sending a mail to [email protected] describing your problem. They'll probably ask you to run a bunch of network diagnostics.
Hi there Twitch Oosiks. I wanted to make a comment about your most recent cast and while I admit I don't listen to it on the regular I've listened to a couple and I'd like to just make an observation:
Spoiler for possible butt-hurt incoming:
The cast overall has a very negative connotation to the game in general. I listened for like 20 minutes and it was "this is bad, this other thing is broken, this shit is just unclear, i barely play, hey at least i am playing the game now which is good I guess". I guess it strikes me as kinda bleh. I mean, I get it there is broken shit but there's gotta be a section for it. Make up some rules for the cast and whoever is hosting it should stick to them. Have topics "current state of MWO" with talking points "are SRMS fixed y/n?", "How about the last patch?". Good, then move onto the next thing "highlites of the week" maybe talk about your best matches or some new unorthodox builds etc.
Not to get down on you but frankly, it's just not a fun thing to listen to a group of people sort of go on about how shit is broken. I already read these forums :P Believe me I realize the game may not be in a state you love, but there are people who like it, and the cast needs to have a more neutral view in general and while you can and should be able to bitch about super broken shit, keep it to a segment and move on to the next item.
Frankly, for myself, this last week of MWO since the patch has seen the best games since we were doing 8 man pug-stomps back in Wiener Dick Butt days. I'm consistently grouping with awesome Oosiks and having insanely fun matches in almost every mech I choose to play.

Here's my newest build, its not perfect but I've been having fun with it. I'll probably take off Artemis to make room for more ammo and heatsinks, maybe drop some more arm armor.
Anyone have an ETA when we can hit lights again? This shit is pre-HSR all over again. If its not a laser, good luck, and even then I think I'm lucky to register 50% of the beam duration on them. Most of my games this weekend were 4+ lights per side, just running around killing stuff: heavies, assaults. Completely untouchable.
Dying and then watching people circle each other for 5 minutes at a time for a single kill gets pretty damn boring fast. Even with Streaks and Beagle it takes seconds to get a lock, and if they are stupid enough to still be in line of sight, I lose lock for no apparent reason when I try and fire.
At this point I'm dying for Streak 6's to get in the game. Lower ammo per ton to almost nothing so you need extra tons of ammo to actually do damage, and maybe lights won't be the best brawl in the game anymore.

The incline patch made actually getting around any of the maps borderline impossible, because you get stuck on little nubs of terrain now. It's pretty derpy.
Please get the word out about the Centurian zombie bug/buff. Watching 5 mechs all refuse to shoot the legs of a cent for is getting hella annoying. "Legging is dumb" they tell me.
No. Damage reducing arm sockets is dumb. Shoot the effin' legs.
I tell my teammates to leg enemies on the regular. "Leg that fucker" I'm always saying. Usually it's with scampering light 'mechs but I will do it and advise others to do it whenever I deem it appropriate. And honor/sportsmanship/dumbness be damned.
I remember in MW4 people would basically act like you were Hitler if you legged them. "You LEGGED me!" I distinctly remember one guy exclaiming in chat after I parplegic-ized his poptart Gladiator, the level of umbrage so clear even through the written word I'm surprised he didn't faint dead away and spend the rest of the game AFK. The silly thing was I had done it completely by accident.

Running around the map in a light that can go full speed up 40° inclines and 2.5-3x the speed of many Assaults, I'm not surprised you haven't experienced any trouble.
Now try it in an Atlas, Highlander or Stalker going 58 kph. Especially on Tourmaline, you trip over EVERYTHING.

Jenners are in the smallest (most agile) climbing category, move like a bat out of hell, and have jump jets. I wouldn't be surprised if you never notice an issue. For bigger 'mechs it is a real frustration.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they made the change because it requires more thought and skill in your maneuvering/positioning and having 'mechs moonwalk up 60-degree inclines at full speed was ridiculous.
But they seriously need to do something about all the little invisible pebbles that suddenly immobilize you. Basically there needs to be code that does a check and lets you step up/over any obstacle if it's under a certain percentage of your 'mech's height regardless of the slope; forget the infamous Impassable Waist-High Fence, in MWO there are places on some maps that are more like Impassable Shin-High Fences.

Heavies and assaults will get stuck on what looks like literally nothing, and you look down and there's a small pebble that's technically coded as a very steep hill so you're stuck on it.
