Soul Calibur 2 returns for the PS3 and XBox360, remastered in HD. It is based on the PS2 version, so it features the same modes as the PS2 release including the guest character Heihachi from Tekken.
Also it'll have
ONLINE PLAY.
This is the ressurection of the best 3D fighting game in history. The series may have been wounded by shitty sequels, but the soul still burns.

Nightmare is kicking ZWEI's ass.
I am so trash @ 3d fighters outside of those 2
Now that I have Marvel again I've been checking stuff out. I know I want X-23 on point, as she's awesome. For assist I'm thinking Mags for Disruptor and X-men connection, but I need an anchor.

Well, I guess that's cool for people who were SC2 fans.
May still buy it to buy it though but I rather like SC5 these days and was hoping it would up an update adding some of the old cast that didn't make it.
And meh at sc2 online. I played it as much as everyone else, but I'll never understand why people tend to love playing old games with added online. I'm sure the online will be poppin for the first week, then it'll be dead by week two.
I wish they had announced a sc5 xpac instead. My favorite 3d fighter of this gen.

like 3s didn't stop being good just because people stopped playing it

Or I guess I could use Phoenix.
I mean it was low compared to some of the other games(except MK which it beat) but then KoF had the T-shirt raffle that year and SFxT dropped like a rock.
But yeah, even with the numbers Evo is just more of a 2D event.
That said I would love an update just to get more characters in. Zasa was my main in 3 and 4(well...I quickly switched from him in 4) and I was sad he didn't make it.
People just got mad about missing hype marvel matches.

It would make sense.
3D fighters seem to be pretty big down there.
Well.
Fuck 'em.
Marvel still headlined over ttt2 and got shitloads more coverage. Only real special thing for tk at final round was the international 5v5 which was one of the coolest things I saw this year.

Well, I've been following SC5 since it was announced and what I got from it was Namco basically only give them about 8 or so months to work on the game.
Why a lot of characters didn't make it and the SP content was so anemic.
Which is why I was really hoping for an expansion announcement because even though it was rushed I've had a ton of fun with SC5 and it would be great if they were given a chance to put in all the stuff that didn't make it.
I want the quest mode and all that stuff
If they skimp on it like they did SC1 for XBLA....blech

At the local community college they had a cabinet in a little side cafe and we had a group of regulars that would meet up to play. The main competition was an Astaroth and Knightmare/Rafael
lol?
Also, point him to divekick.
Right?!
While I don't really agree with the guy on a lot of his specifics, inputs and input complexity and having to practice combos and all that does turn a lot of people away from fighting games. I do have friends that have never gotten into fighting games because they can not consistently throw fireballs. Now, if I sit down with them, and see why they can't throw fireballs, I can usually explain to them very quickly what they are messing up (usually pressing punch too soon) and get them throwing fireballs pretty consistently. But not everyone wants to sit through that process. Learning combos is definitely my least favorite part of fighting games.
I love the idea of fighting games like Dive Kick, or Bushido blade, or hell, even something like ST where the combos are relatively short (though really hard to pull off because of the timing requirements). I hate things like one frame links. It's just not what interests me in fighting games. I like the strategy, the mind games, yomi, controlling space, controlling tempo. That is what excites me about fighting games. The thing of course is that the systems that allow combos are also the things that allow a lot of the interesting other things in fighting games, like intricate blockstrings and frame traps and set ups. So, I basically take combos and complicated inputs as a necessary evil to get other things that I want.
But if someone made a fighting game that had everything I liked and simple inputs and simple combos or heck even no combos at all? I would play the hell out of that.
