Hoooooleee crap it's encore day! I did not expect this until Wednesday and I'm unprepared! I also may have been drinking a bit because I'm cooking some ribs.
Here comes Act 2 of my 3 act play. Act 1 was completed previously. These are items that I've heard are good, but haven't had the opportunity to play yet:
So as I was saying earlier, I'm getting some sort of weird graphical glitch in Sniper Elite Nazi Zombie Army where when the zombies die, they turn into dumpster sized pieces of...debris, is the best I can describe it.
Spoiler'd for size, obviously.
I mean, that's the least of this game's issues, but it's just a particularly odd one. I haven't even gotten to the fact that I'm "sniping" zombies in tight hallways and backyard gardens and some dude's kitchen. Turns out they want you to just shoot from the hip like in fucking Uncharted 1. And the enemies always bum rush you. Always.
I don't have the game, but whenever I have issues like this I verify the game's cache in Steam. That often fixes issues like that.
Yeah, weird. Had to redownload 100 MB or so to revalidate. Maybe that'll fix it.
Still not an amazing game though. Maybe it's better with friends?
So, unless Kentucky Route Zero hits the next flash, time to decide my final "it never got a daily (or current daily)" purchase or two.

Is there any reason to hold on to Summer Getaway cards? Will they serve any function after tomorrow?
They can still be used to craft badges.
Their value will likely increase the farther from the sale we get as there won't be any new supply of them, but by how much and how quickly is anyone's guess.

Damn, the Steam version of Final Fantasy VII uses the analog stick of my 360 controller instead of the d-pad -_- Considering no version of this game ever used an analog stick, it controls like crap (doesn't help that my 360 controller analog stick is shitty and doesn't always reset to center correctly). Booooo. I wonder if there's some way to fix this (other than xpadder, which, bleh)
Kind of impressed, it looks like they did at least replace the cutscenes from the original PC release. The original cutscenes were literally like 320x280 resolution and compressed to HELL. They looked like shit even back in 1998. But these look good - they are probably the originals. Shame they couldn't replace the music with the original PSX music (though there seems to be hope for an update)
Edit: Side note, so Towns basically seems to be like Dwarf Fortress I guess? The tutorials are god awful though. "Click the Chop button".... and where is the Chop button? Oh, can't tell you that! :P

Welp, I decided to pull the trigger on a few things on my wishlist while they were on sale: Add MDK, MDK2 HD and Ys I & II Chronicles to the library. It's amazing how well MDK still holds up with a gamepad - makes me long for the days when Shiny Entertainment was synonymous with quality crazy stuff.
Yes that is fewer names than there were contest but some people like to have incredibly good luck by winning one contest and influencing probability in their favor like Domino from X-Men. Unfortunately for Jragghen he won the same game twice. So I requested a re-roll. It's also unfortunate for BigDes who won Cart Life and another game that doesn't even really matter because we're going to have to get him help soon once he dives into Cart Life and gives up on Steam, the forums, and real life.
