thats right ladies and gents, the new season of Deadliest Catch on the discovery channel is set to start Tuesday April 3rd at 9pm est.
anyone else a fan of this show?
i really dig it. The previews for the new season i think show people dying in like the first few days of the season, geeze.
there is going to be a online game for it here. From what the press release said it was going to be a fantasy team sort of thing, but the site just makes it look like a little flash diversion... sadly i'd love to have a fantasy crab league.
Deadliest Catch & the Everest mini-series are awesome because these things are actually happening. People are actually risking their lives to do things. The mythbusters are just wierd older men who like to test retarded myths.

well I hope they all die
I didn't ask them to go catch crabs or climb mountains, and if they die they fucking deserve it

man has nobody else ever seen conenctions?
It was fucking brilliant. The dude would show you something simple, like a piece of celuloid film or something, and then take you back like 600 years to when someone discovered how to make a limelight way up on some irish mountain, then talk about billiard ball coatings that sometimes exploded and how they led to the invention of gun cotton and then how that led to this and then this led to that and then some guy was working on improving this thing here and then discovered this other thing on accident and all of a sudden they all come together and that is how come you have porno. You're welcome.
it was so good. Like this episode description:
Often, materials discovered by accident alter the course of the world. In the 1600s Dutch commercial freighters controlled Atlantic trade routes. Competing British lines induced America to produce pitch to protect hulls of their royal vessels. This arrangement lasted until 1776, after which a Scottish inventor tried to produce pitch from coal tar. By the time he succeeded the navy was using copper instead. Subsequent experiments with coal tar yielded gaslight lamps, waterproofed garments, a brilliant mauve dye that established the German chemical industry and nylon, the first of the miracle plastics.
Man Vs. Wild is a really good show on Discovery. Bear Griz or whatever his name is, is a hardass. Catches fish and bites the fishes spine out to kill it, then he eats it raw. So much better than surviorman.

I posted the link on the previous page, but each season is like $150. I'm going to do some looking tonight to find cheaper options, but oh god it was such a great show.

I give a shit about some retarded fishermen
Now he is a logger...which isn't leaps and bounds better.
They pay you out the ying-yang to do that stuff, though.
Secret Satan
How It's Made
and uh, Mythbusters again
MythBusters
Dirty Jobs w\Mike Rowe
Deadliest Catch
Special mention for FutureWeapons, but did not make Top 3 due to ex-Navy Seal host guy's over-the-top routine.
Connections, with James Burke
back when the Learning Channel was actually about learning things and not about OH BOY ANOTHER FUCKING HOME MAKEOVER WE'RE SO GAY
Dirty Jobs
Deadliest Catch
Well it's really like a top eight
Mythbusters holds like 5 spots
I wish they would show dogfights on History more often
It's such a cool show
I'm an Air Force nerd

They're available on DVD this is the best news!

Seriously, this is the best fucking show ever.
i'm a big fan of Jamie and Adam.
well I hope they all die
I didn't ask them to go catch crabs or climb mountains, and if they die they fucking deserve it
I'd rather watch somebody explode a mannequin
You take that fucking back
boy, you fucking take that fucking the fuck back
even though they make the most ridiculous shit to kill people these days
Plus, crab is delicious.
These guys may be dumb for risking their lives, but at least its compelling because it's dangerous and actually happening.
And nobody is wearing goggles. Man I hate goggles.
I mean yay it comes with public performance rights so I can, like, show it to my neighbors or something
but god damn it I want to watch connections again but I ain't got that kind of scratch for a TV show
like crab boats and the worlds largest mountain.
wait, what?
Who the hell are you and what'd you do with Shoe?
yeah who needs eyes
those don't kill anyone
the idiots on them kill themselves
Futureweapons is okay
like, if it's on, I'll watch it
but I'm not going to go out of my way to watch it like I will for Mythbusters
also the only bad thing about Mythbusters is that once you've watched an episode, you pretty much can't watch it again for a long time
damn right you shouldn't be alive so I don't have to listen to your bullshit
Nice try Zarflax
like he's a badass and everything, but he whispers everything
I like that one with Bear Grylls
there is a clip on Discovery.com of him pissing on his bandana to keep cool
also:
Dogfights. So badass.
that's manly for some reason
oh what we do is so dangerous we have to have a show about it
lalalalalalaaaaaaa
is this educational? do I care?
the answer to both is no
But then, you get moments like the exploding cement truck. Makes it worth the watch.
