    Made it to chapter 3.

My accuracy has gone up by a good 10-15% from the GC version. Went through the right path last night, and without firing a shot (thank you, hand grenades) to make sure I'd have enough ammo to take the other path, too. The last wave in that route got me once, because I fumbled around getting Ashley into the dumpster and was caught unprepared. That and fucking Plagas popped out right after I used my fucking flash grenade.

Second time went much better; shot the vanguard in the legs, then after they'd thoroughly clumped up in front of me, used another hand grenade. Only three remained.

Man, fuck using the handgun on the lift. Unless you have the Punisher, it's kind of a waste of ammo, and you have less breathing room when you need to reload. I might've picked up the rifle at that point, had I room in the case for it (I was intent on holding out for the L.)

OK, so barring earning the Hand Cannon, what would you say there is to do on a clear file to make it like, OCD complete? I just started the game again with Special Costume 2 enabled and sold everything I had sans my trusty handgun (which is basically worthless now that I purchased the Chicago Typewriter). I need to stock Ashley up on yellow herbs, but essentially I can't think of much else to do except save up for an infinite launcher. Sound about right?

Have you beaten pro to get the PRL?

What? 12 shotgun shells on a regenerator? That is a heck of a lot of shotgun shells! Using the thermal scope on the rifle takes those fuckers out very quickly, since you can see the plagas weak points.

I actually didn't buy a rifle throughout this part. I ran past all the regens, except the first one. On the first, I just bombed it with an incinerating grenade, and then sprayed it with a highly upgraded TMP.

Actually, thanks to the handy auto-aim knife, the easiest way to kill a Regenerator is to blow it's legs off and then just slash it to death. As long as you keep waggling, then it can never attack you.

right? That was one of my favourite parts of the game because I was absolutely terrified.

My first time in that room, it showed that little scene, and, badass that I am, I pulled out the rifle and waited for him.

    And waited.

    And waited.

The breathing grew louder. "Where the hell...?" I thought. Louder.

That's when I realized I was watching the wrong door.

I was so damn lucky on the first Iron Maiden.

I was on red health, and all out of healing items. In desperation I threw a grenade as he shot his arms out and grabbed me.

It exploded, killing him just as I was being pulled towards a spikey death. It was awesome.

Yeah, you're right. I never would have made that shot in the GC version.

After leaning on the TMP the past few firefights and restricting my use of shotgun shells to what was in my gun during the hedge maze (good god this wasn't pleasant) and refilling it via an capacity upgrade, I've got plenty to go around now. Rifle ammo is still a little blah (I was down to ten at one point, it's since been boosted to 24 through found ammo + capacity upgrade). I'm so glad I saved up all the TMP ammo I've collected thus far, because damn if it didn't come in handy.

For the gatling gun guy, my wife just figured out that after he hides in that second room downstairs instead of following him, jump down and open the door he is hiding next to. He will take off running back in the direction he came from instead of mounting the chain gun. When he runs back into the original room he was in, he's trapped and an easy kill.

Sorry for the crappy grammar I can't think straight right now.

then i walked passed the frozen corridor. the exact words that came out of my mouth was..."regenerators....Fuck..."

    i shut off the wii.

Did the exact same thing last night.

Honestly, you guys hyped up the regenerators so much in the last thread that I was fucking terrified to fight them. I was pretty surprised and disappointed when I downed the first one with about 12 shotgun shells.

Dude, that's a lot of shotgun shells, and I'm assuming that's from an upgraded higher-end shotgun. When you first encounter them and you shoot them in the face and it grows back

    Terrifying.

I had no idea how they worked the first time I encountered one; in fact I though the rifle with infrared was the only way to kill them. At that point I had no infrared of course so I flipped out and emptied a few clips on the bastard.

He might've got lucky to use just 12. I've used far more just as an experiment.

You ever unload on one with a TMP? very amusing and bloody, haha.
    and ineffective

I remember it pretty vividly because of the letdown after you guys hyped it so much. It took about 12 shells - I had a lot so 12 really meant nothing, especially with the kind of punishment they're supposed to absorb - but he was also on the floor for the last bit because I'd blown off his legs. I kept him down with continued shots, so I may have just been lucky and hit the plagas that way. I used the rifle on the next few.

Regenerators heal HP (I guess that would be as good a term as any) if you give them half a chance. Getting them down and constantly hitting them with ammo should be enough to kill one.

I think they have something like 120-ish life. Each plaga on their body (I think) has % of their life. 4 Plagas? Each has 25% of their life. That's why if you kill all but one you'll notice it takes next to no shots to finish it off.

Well, of course Regenerators are easy if you have a sniper rifle and the thermal scope.

An easy non-rifle way to kill them is to chuck an incinerator grenade, a regular grenade, than then maybe 2 shotgun blasts or something. Maybe 1 more incinerator. I think thats what it took to take one of them down. Since I didn't buy the rifle.
