Hahaha, on the European PSN-store I was looking between the PS+ releases of this month, and yup, Stealth Inc., Urban Freestyle and New Little King Story were all there.

But then I evilly browsed to the standard Vita games list, looked up 'The Jak and Daxter Trilogy' and yup, the Vita version is free for PS+ too :-)

    Downloading now...

Ha crazy. Has Adol been the main character in all the Ys games? I remember playing Wanderers from Ys when I was a kid.

Pretty much. He goes around the world adventurin', fightin', and inadvertently stealin' the hearts of whoever happens to be the leading lady at the time.

He's kind of like an infinitely more chaste version of Indiana Jones.

The only game he doesn't star in is Ys Origin, and that's because it takes place hundreds (thousands?) of years before Ys 1.

ok um I need this game a lot now.

Can't believe I get Stealth Inc for free this quickly. How are the other offers? I saw lots of talk about Little King Story but don't really know anything about it. I think the other is that bike qwop thing?

Little King Story seems to have such terribly mixed opinions on it. Is it actually any good? I have actually passed over most of the free vita games - but I certainly will take Stealth Inc. I have no idea what the bike game is about.

In any event, everyone MY MARRIAGE IS SAVED. I have Spelunky again! My wife is most looking forward to it but best of all, we can play on separate screens! I will be spelunking on the vita while she has the PS3.

That vita purchase as a bit of spontaneous rebellion gets better and better all the time.

Also Rayman Legends is apparently amazing, so I am definitely going to buy it.

The bike game is the PS3/Vita version of Trials off XBLA. A very precise 'platforming' game. Trials is fantastic, this version was fun from the demo but the iffy frame rate killed any chance of a purchase from me. For free though I'm sure I can adapt to the slightly wonky frame rate :)

Spelunky on Vita is so good. They have added the odd thing to this as well, like being able to find the DLC characters hidden about in places.

I picked up Spelunky, I'm terrible at it. Like, really really terrible. Level 1-3 is my max right now. I think I'll console myself by taking the pug in for a nail trim, seeing her miserable and sulky is always good for a giggle.

I think all the Wii U version has over it is Ninendo-themed costumes (which obviously aren't going anywhere else), but otherwise, I think it should be the 'best' version still.

Everyone's terrible at Spelunky. You just do a little better each time... I hit a wall in the ice caves on 360, though. Never could get further than the second ice area.

Also, incase you didn't know, you can go into the options menu and change the damsels in distress into pugs in distress.

I have a couple of the Sony game cases, which hold 8 Vita games and 2 memory cards. There are of course other cases, most seem to have slots for the memory cards. Get a case.

One of us! One of us!

Now you totally need to pick up the awesome VII on the Vita/PSP and the remake of III on either the PSP/Vita (voiced) or PC (higher resolution, non-voiced) as they're considered the best of the series previously - one non-linear and one linear. Oh, and grab Origins on PC as well because it's also fantastic.

These games are action rpgs on hyper-speed and without those silly things like healing.

Well, I started playing New Little King's Story tonight and I'm finding it very very delightful. It's an odd little blend of games, I think, but they mesh well so far. Pleasantly surprised! I have noticed the framerate hitch a few times already, but nothing that's got me too fussed.

So wait, the PS3 gets Final Fantasy X/X-2 as a combo at $40 but the Vita has to buy the games separately at a as yet undisclosed price? If I have to pay more than $20 per game I'll ... buy them anyways - but I'll bitch a lot.

I also bought the Vita official leather wallet case thing today from Gamestop used for $8. It's ok, better than the gigantic Little Big Planet PSP case I was rocking (which I only bought because it came with a little sack boy toy).

Yeah, basically. I have no idea how Squeenix is going to handle the Vita releases and it is very frustrating waiting for them to announce something. I'm hoping that even if they do wobble it and release each at a higher price-point that stores will sell one on sale if you buy the other to match the PS3 price. Eventually.

I'm trying not to think about what'll happen with the Vita versions. I know I want them on Vita, because portables have been my RPG powerhouses lately, but I have... let's say caution. I'll be surprised if there's a physical release, to be honest.

I haven't bought any Vita games in physical form and, for a Final Fantasy game, I wouldn't buy physical anyhow. All I want is my pretty princess sim ... ahem ... X-2 on the Vita.

I'm fine with them being PSN-only, the only real drawback is that it makes it less likely you'd see a price match compared to the PS3 version, in the frustrating hypothetical where they're priced higher than it.

Digital-only bothers me far less on the Vita than I thought it would and far less than it does on my PS3. Of course, that might have something to do with the max size game I currently can download for my Vita being 3.3 gigs when the max size game on my PS3 account is something like 11 gigs and can be twice that. 3.3 gigs takes a fucking long time to download with my shitty internet (and general PSN slowness), but ridiculous shit like 11+ gigs is literally just impossible.

I'm honestly just still pissed that for some bizarre fucking reason, presumably just to piss me off, I cannot download Final Fantasy V onto my Vita. That and Final Fantasy 3 being $20.

I'm currently downloading the demo for Soul Sacrafice, I saw a video for it at Best Buy and I sort of remember people around these here parts thinking it was good. I should not be in control of the PSN credit when I've been drinking.

Soul Sacrifice takes a bit to click for some people it seems. Not me, because in the demo, I uppercut a Ghoul (basically a big bird) out of the air as it was flying at me with a Rock Fist and fell in love with the game right then and there. Put a -ton- of hours into it as a mostly Sacrificing character, started a mostly Saving character and worked on both of them for a while. My main basically just needs to finish Optional Requests and the main boss, but I told myself I had to play other games so that I could actually...you know, play other games.

Soul Sacrifice for me seems to be -that game- that everyone has that despite everyone else liking it, it obviously being good, and you even wanting to like it, you just can't get into. I played the demo, thought it was good, bought it, thought the first couple hours were good, and I just can't work up the motivation for it.

It's legitimately good though, I hope everyone likes it. And, if nothing else, Mitsuda.

I do hope Soul Sacrifice 2 (or whatever it'll end up being called) does open up a little bit more, map-wise. That part turned a lot of people off and while it didn't bother me, I also wished it would've simply because the whole -world- they'd created seemed very interesting and like something I would want to explore.

I mean, I'm pretty positive a sequel is coming since everyone seemed pretty happy with the sales (I think?) and Inafune was already talking with Sony about one like a month after the game came out in Japan.
