Why are the MvC games being taken down? What did I miss?
Capcom's losing it's Marvel license or rights or something.
Oh, that makes sense. I think they should still have the right to sell their game, but it makes sense I guess. Either way, that's a bummer. So is Disney going to start making the marvel fighting games? Marvel Vs Disney: Magic Kingdom Heroes. Hahaha
Actually, I would totally buy this and get back into fighting games.
Just an FYI for Vita owners. Since Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and 3 are being removed from PSN, they have knocked down the price on the character DLC to 50%. Problem is the geniuses overlooked the Vita version and forgot to discount it. Luckily for us since the DLC is crossbuy, you can just buy the character DLC for the PS3 version and download unlock (Damn on disk DLC) it on your Vita.
Vita version is the only one I can see on the Sony store at all. :I

Could ya link? I'm on the Sony store and searching for Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 only shows the Vita version listings.

I'm super happy that FFX will be coming out the same day on Vita as on PS3. I only don't like the fact that they're not selling the games separately since my husband and I both have Vitas and I'd prefer to not purchase the game twice on Vita to both play it. But I'll probably just end up playing it on Vita while he plays it on PS3.

Do you not have both Vitas on the same account? My husband has his Vita on my PSN account so we only need one copy of offline games (or ad hoc).

I did. Search on Amazon.co.uk and nothing came up for the vita. The PS3 version was there, but no actual date.

Yeah, I do the same thing with me (Vita) & my daughter (PSP). Whenever I buy a PSP game, she gets it (if age appropriate), and vice versa.

No, we have ours separate. We both have different tastes in games for the most part, and we buy anything we can in physical format so it's never a problem to share games.

They just announced the release date today for Vita for the US as March 18th on the playstation blog.
I feel like a mortal trying to comprehend the true form of Cthulhu. I just can't wrap my mortal brain around the decision process behind the Vita's physical release. Is this some new kind of scuzzy experimental online pass tactic? Are they just incomprehensibly stupid? What's going on here?
Yeah, I think it's what Renzo is saying. SE NA wants to make sure they get their $40 out of you no matter what, even if your plan is to just play one and flip the other one, but the overall prospect of putting two Vita cards in one specialized case is cost-annoying if not cost-prohibitive, so here's the weird workaround. You could probably (hopefully) still sell the X-2 code if you wanted to, but this effectively locks out the a la carte option that was only available on Vita.
It puts a wrinkle in my plans for physical vs. digital, that's for sure. I also want that collector's edition book, but I don't know if I want it enough to get a second copy of the games.
I don't think it's anywhere near as nefarious as some people are suggesting. First, Sony has a policy with HD Collections that force publishers to bundle their games together instead of releasing them separately (otherwise Peace Walker HD would've received a separate release outside of Japan as well). Second, including two game cards would've pushed the Vita version to $50 or $60, which I think they realised wasn't an option.
I'm pretty happy with the solution and will probably go with the Vita versions at first, with the PS3 versions following some time later. I hope the cross-save functionality actually works properly and unlocks trophies.

I don't recall if any else has mentioned it yet, but Guacameelee! (Cross-Buy) and Limbo are both $3.75 this week for PS+ members.
That's awesome, I've been dying to play Guacamelee! And since I'll be home sick tomorrow, it'll make for a nice deviation from Uncharted 3 when I finish it. If I'm not passed out on the couch.

I have plus and have checked the ps4, ps3, vita and the app store...I see no sale for guacamelee.
After a week with it, I have to say I really like Sorcery Saga. The plot is silly, the characters (especially Pupuru, the main character) are endearing, and the game revels in its cuteness. And then there's a pretty good roguelike on top of it. I hope I can get it completed before the big stuff I'm looking forward to starts dropping early next year.

That price for Tearaway is almost distressing. I guess it didn't sell well?
It released at a terrible time and didn't get marketed strongly, or even hyped by Sony much. It's a shame because it's really one of Vita's best games. The sales numbers look grim but I hope that digital was huge, because it deserves accolades.

Sales weren't great, but at that price I bought it as well. Was able to find it for 19.99 on amazon, its temporarily out of stock, it'll end up being a game for the new year, or whenever they get it in stock.

It was one of my favourite games of 2013, I just wish it was longer as I utterly devoured it.
I don't understand why i like Tearaway so much.
In general, i really dislike gimmick controls. The game is full of that stuff so i shouldn't have a good time. Yet i would consider it one of the best games i played this year.
I am going to go so far as to say that I think FFX-2 is a better game than X, and am looking forward to enjoying the hell out of X-2 again and maybe liking X this time.
FFX-2, despite the sailor moon esque transformation sequences and jpop concerts, is one of the most legitimately sad stories in any FF game. They really did a great job of showing how, even after you save the world, it doesn't stop the problems of the world from existing, and creates even more on its own.
I love that people set up fucking tourist attractions around the locations of tragedies of the previous game.

Let's not write off those Sailor Moon-esque transformations though
They look pretty amazing visually and I can't wait to see them in HD
Much like summons in other FFs, I always keep the long versions on
Oh yeah, it's all visually incredible, and I can't wait to see it in HD. It's just that the Charlie's Angels stuff is overlaid on a pretty interesting premise. People turning temples into stores for selling commemorative "We Defeated Sin" plates, digging up sacred relics and hocking them as souvenirs and whatnot. It reminds me Europe immediately post WW2, people just running off with priceless artifacts and pieces of history being traded for cigarettes.
I'll second that sentiment for Muramasa. Do you like art that's some of the prettiest (especially on Vita!) you'll ever see in a game? You should get Muramasa. Gameplay's pretty simplistic, but still fun. You should definitely add it to your xmas list.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

Muramasa is excellent. Beautiful art, fun gameplay, amazing soundtrack.
And the art. Did I mention the art?
Two campaigns, two characters, more with DLC I believe.
