I imagine for the Japanese audience it wasn't that difficult for them to know Tokyo's layout for the most part, but they could have stood to add some map landmarks for the localized versions at least.
Timeline for this is
P3FES->P4->P4:A->P4:C?(this update)->P4G epilogue
And the Naoto comic is half a year after the P4G epilogue (a year after the end of P4). Picked up and read the first volume, it seems decent so far though nothing's happened yet at all.
Also Kurogami Sousei ("Black God Genesis") is like the grimderpest name ever.
Only P4 character besides Naoto to actually show up in the first volume is Rise. Eh.
All I know about SMT IV fiends is I encountered one way before I wanted to and he ate all my lunch money, forcing me to pay in Play Coins for the first time.

So, any significance behind Naraku's location compared to real-world Tokyo? Or was it a case of "Oh, let's just throw a dart and... Naraku's there."
there is a challenge quest late game involving Thor that unlocks him for fusion called "save the old man". There are a few late game quests that unlock demons that are low level. I didn't even bother fusing him because I'm lazy and my demons were amazing already.
The beginning of smt iv is by far the hardest part. I'd say that its not as balanced as 3 and sj.

I actually wonder about that. Not all of the Japanese audience is going to live in Tokyo and just as I know about New York Cities landmarks but don't know them in relation to each other, I'm not sure the non-Tokyo players would get around without referencing a map.
So having finally walked over to the neutral ending sequence after technically beating the game a week ago, I'm starting to wonder if anyone has fit SMT4 into what passes for the SMT timeline.
Yah I haven't been able to get through CW2 yet either. I'm level 91 now - I should try again.

Ah. I managed to get into the second boss with my party intact, but then I got my ass kicked. I saw a lot of physical attacks so I'm tempted to use Tetrakarm, but something tells me the boss will punish me for even thinking that.
It's the exact opposite though. If the fiends had a theme song, it would be called "I won't be there for you."
So no one told you it was gonna be this way
You're level 99 but you can't walk away
Feels like I just won't ever spawn in here
It's probably been a day, a week, a month, maybe even a year
Won't be there for you
Reload your game more and more
Won't be there for you
I know you've been here before
Won't be there for you
'Cuz you're here for me, fool
I just got home and the first thing I noticed was IGN reporting that "The updated version of Persona 4 Arena is not currently planned for a release in the US, an Atlus representative tells IGN, and is an "arcade-only update.""
They better mean the loctest patch and not any P4A2 at all because if the latter, what am I fighting for?

Yesssss I beat Clipped Wings 2. My linchpin was fusing Alilat.
Ahahahah. Oh man. The -karn spells are so broken when not fighting a super optional boss. ESPECIALLY if you have energy drain on the demon...
I have seriously just snapped this game over my knee.

Make sure Flynn is able to negate status effects. Apparently he can block the whole thing if he's immune to at least one thing. I'd have to check what he's carrying.
Make sure you have another demon immune to sleep/panic/bind/etc, like, say, Alilat! Make sure she has High Elec Pleroma and either Ziodyne or Lightning Reign, for the first boss, and Glacial Blast for the second boss, as well as Concentrate and Invite. I had one other Lightning Reign/High Elec Pleroma-armed demon with Concentrate along for the ride, and Thor with Debilitate to debuff, swapping him out for Mahamayuri to spam heal.
When the second boss hit, I kept Alilat, grabbed Demonee-ho, and Lilith. All of them had Glacial Blast or an equivalent, while my main character had Bufudyne. Debuff, and spam the shit out of that! I don't think I even bothered debuffing. I just went for it.
Edit: I need a little clarification for Red Rider. Do I just save in front of the B3 elevator before going inside to try the Luck Door? Or do I have to enter a DLC realm first, save in there, abandon, THEN go down the elevator?
I'm literally banging my head trying to finish this dumb game. I just got back into it and it's like I have to finish every quest in the book because they couldn't think of better things to do in Neutral. Just let me finish the gaaaame, i can take on those final bosses without getting a picture for an old lady, guys, I promise.

This is how it works for most fighting games, ASW ones especially. Arcade Release ---> Console Release, with time between the two.
For one, it allows them to get arcade money. For another, they work on the single player modes and extra characters during that time. And high quality character sprites that ASW does take times and effort. Their sprites are about twice the size and detail if their nearest competitor.

The problem isn't so much the usual arcade-home console gap, as it is that all this new content that very much looks like a completely new game (as opposed to a simple rebalance or update) is not being considered for a release anywhere else. That is, if that is what IGN meant by its report.
I think that would be utter horseshit, both in terms of international arcade availability and home console release, but I don't think Atlus would be so idiotic as for the latter to be true.

You have to keep in mind that things that publishers tell news outlets very often don't reflect the truth. "Not currently planned" means diddly squat.

Yep, and ASW games have a goddamn shit ton of text to localize thanks to the story modes.
My biggest problem with Persona 4 Arena was the inability to choose whether you were going to use/play against people using the A-spam combos. Yeah, it's easy to avoid/block them if you're good but I'd rather not play online against people with inordinate amounts of lag and have their autocombo decide the match. I'm not saying take it out, I'm saying give me the option to say, "I'm going to play without using that and I want to play against other people who aren't using it either."
Not being able to spam one button to do amazing combos didn't hurt SFIV. And the blue health penalty doesn't really address the issue. To really take damage from your autocombo shenanigans, you have to complete the combo, which means you have a year and a half to confirm it and keep going with it to the point of doing a shitload of damage to the other player and a little bit to yourself or notice that they're blocking and stop the combo (or not). I played against one Chie yesterday who autocomboed pretty much continuously, and I spent most of the match blocking. It was really boring.
I have no idea where I'm going. My save is at Coordinate 136, and my current SP Items are Blue Key, Tag Ring (duh), L Statue Key and R Statue Key.
I don't remember what that means in terms of progression.
Also, I get that it's a fighting game, but having some sort of satisfying conclusion to the story would be nice. Or a story arc at all. What we basically got was,
A bunch of shit happened to a robot we've never met before, ultimately resulting in her getting rescued from her shadow. Now we need to find out who threw that robot into the TV and caused all this shit to happen!
Seriously, that's about the gist of it. Don't open that spoiler if you don't want two sentences to spoil the entirety of the P4A story experience.
That's my biggest problem with the Blazblue games too; the story is split up into a bunch of different characters, but not only does the story change entirely depending on which character you pick to play, it typically spews text at you that isn't particularly compelling and leaves you wondering what in the hell just happened. P4A is at least better about this than Blazblue but there's still very little resolution to the story, collectively or individually.
It's like if they released Persona 4 and it ended after the Castle dungeon. But it takes you 30 hours to get through that one dungeon, and there's 10 times the amount of text in the original game, talking about tiny, insignificant details like how characters' smiles make the person you're playing feel. That smile reminds me of when I was a child, (...)
Seriously, we can see from the character's sprite that they are smiling. You don't need four sentences to tell us about it.
I do agree with the sentiment that at least the P3 characters are getting developed somewhat. I just wish it wasn't such loony development (looking at you, Akihiko) since it hasn't really been all that long after the ending of P3. And Fuuka is a super hacker now, and is going to hack all the IPs simultaneously. Akihiko turned into a Ryu/Balrog hybrid and Fuuka turned into a character from the Sandra Bullock movie The Net.
I'm glad that they seem to be hinting at what P5 will be about, though.

So that's 40 app points oh and the mothman on my card wants to fuse... To a lv 6 pele. What in all hells!
Meanwhile one of the two street passes is a lv 18 flyntagonist with a lv 33 demon on his card. How come I can't have that luck
Anyone have any recommended demons I should fuse?
