Call me a genius but where do we buy these shiny brunch tickets?
eventbrite and I am pretty sure the link is in the OP. When I went to buy them I just went eventbrite.com and did a search for PAX in Seattle, wa and it came up that way.
Hello! My name is Heather, videogame blogger coming to Pax Prime for the first time to work on the GTFO documentary. I would LOVE to be able to talk to any of you who are interested in being featured in the film and give your two cents about your experiences dealing with gender and gaming. I'm going to get my ticket to the meetup now and will be there camera in hand and just anxious to meet you all on or off camera. If you want to get in contact with me in general please feel free: videogamegirlfriend@gmail.com
5 more days until I get to see all of you lovely ladies in person!
Reminder that refunds are no longer available. If something comes up, you can still transfer your ticket to someone else, but it's up to you to work out the payment details.

I have been looking forward to this for so long. I just hope I don't get too scared and try to chicken out. So if someone sees me trying to sneak off: grab me and pull me back in. :P

That was me last year! I was totally nervous until I walked in the door. It was a magical place, full of my people. And it was all good. Don't be scared! We don't bite.

For the girls attending this morning's meetup. I'll be at the Juicy Cafe for a very short time (9-9:20) and then walking over to the Diller Room. If you don't mind being early, you're welcome to walk there with me.
Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who made it out to today's meetup! Though I didn't get a chance to do more than say "hi" to all of you, it was great seeing everyone and meeting new friends!
Thanks especially to The Diller Room who has been awesome enough to host this for several years in a row and has always been a great host!
So... Let's talk feedback. Let me know what you liked best, what you didn't like, what can be improved upon. Give me your constructive criticism!
Maybe something to get people interacting with strangers a bit more? Like some sort of party game? Nothing too scary or mandatory. I met some awesome people, but I also saw a lot of others sitting only with the people they came in the door with. Just a thought.
We talked a little about this after the brunch, but I'd like to make a formal suggestion/request:
If you're coming to the brunch to promote/sell something, don't. We were approached several times, not for general greetings and chitchat, but because someone wanted to hand us a business card, flyer, etc. I almost wanted to put up a "no solicitors" sign on my table.
This is a social occasion. I personally didn't like the feeling of being the captive audience to people trying to market something to me as a Gamer Girl.
In a similar vein, I'm not keen to be a research subject either when I'm just trying to have breakfast and a few drinks with friends.

First and foremost, Covet, I am forever in debt with you...okay, until next PAX, but same difference, yeah?
For those who want to promote/research/interview...do so subtly. I know one of the girls I hung out at the beginning--before food--was not there to promote her game (at least I don't think so) but I complimented on her shirt which then rolled into the promo. I engaged it. You can blog/podcast about the place and your experience all that you desire, but let folks engage you about whatever you do. Do not pressure us about it--early morning and alcohol does not make us easy targets.
The Girl Who Gave Everyone the Shortest Jenga Game Ever.
I know Covet told some bloggers/media that they were NOT welcome to come as bloggers/media for interviews, but they were very welcome to come as geek girls to hang out with other geek girls. Beyond that, seeing as this is an unofficial event and Covet should enjoy it just like the rest of us, it's up to us to police it internally ourselves. Call out someone who's trying to take advantage and sell things or force interviews, and keep an eye out in case someone gets cornered and needs help.
I had a great time, and the Diller Room was fantastic as always. I got to get some names traded with ladies I've talked to for years, and found out that Covet actually lives near me, so woohoo. I was so touched when the guy who runs the Diller Room was telling everyone that he put out bags for the muffins, so we could take them with us to eat in lines later that day - shows he cares about our event AND knows about PAX as a whole, which is pretty special.
Diller room was excellent - while it's a bit of a walk from the Convention Center, the small group I was with made it much better. (This is my way of saying I really like the meet-up there and walk down, which I only found out via luck of checking the forums.) The food was really good, the owner/manager was awesome (and fun), and it was a nice, laid-back way for Sunday morning to go.
I will second what's been said above re: bloggers/media. I don't like them there, but we should police it ourselves.

We have some generous benefactors who are donating two (2) tickets to ladies who can't afford to go.
If your decision not to attend was based on financial reasons, send me a private message. The first two to contact me will get these tickets.
Your name will not be made public as a recipient.
