Instead of playing games I still need to beat I am playing Fallout: New Vegas again.
I am bad at this "beat games then buy new games when I beat games" thing.
I beat Rogue Legacy, completed Thomas Was Alone, and am currently working on Uncharted 3. I have also beat the campaign of Orcs Must Die! 2 but my buddy and I have 1 more classic level and all the DLC to do. Will probably attempt an endless level, too. If I can finish off Uncharted 3 my next goal is to start and finish Assassin's Creed 3.
As much as I'd like to, my fighting games skill level (and my wallet) doesn't justify getting a fight stick. The best I can do for now is a cheap gamepad.

So thanks to the mighty generosity of @P10 (anyone with an Adventure Time avatar is alright by me), I get to live out all of my Game of Thrones-type scheming with Crusader Kings II--and frankly I'm relieved that I now have a safe outlet for my devious plans of conquest!
As a famous doctor once said, "the world is a mess . . . and I just need to rule it."

Same here. I'm 75% of the way through the new Tomb Raider, started Bioshock Infinite just to see what it was like, just got Shadowrun Returns, and got the new humble bundle with Dead Island and Saints Row 3.
So many great games I have that I haven't put enough time into
First game I think I ended at 600k. Second was 9mil. Fourth game was 51mil.
Still not sure how I did that one. I've beaten that score since then, but gah. Now I kinda know what I'm doing. In that first 50+mil run, I was still playing foosball. (Me and my friends play foosball on thursday night, I play goalie. My only strategy was 'don't let the ball go in the hole')
I'm at 71mil now (7 hours of gameplay), second on my friendslist to DasUberEdward (190something mil). Need some others in between people to try and compete against.
What are peoples scores in Pinball?
....Need some others to try and compete against.
feel free to add me, details in sig
Shouldn't have asked for friends. 'dis viking guy just gifted me with a whole Civil War's worth of new pinball tables. I haven't even mastered the first one yet!
Sorry, I'm currently jobless, and can't really gift back right now, but thanks for the table's, man!
As much as I'd like to, my fighting games skill level (and my wallet) doesn't justify getting a fight stick. The best I can do for now is a cheap gamepad.
Your skill level is never a barrier to if you should get a stick or not. I don't believe I'd really played a fighting game for around 15 years before the release of Virtua Fighter FS on the XBLA triggered something in my brain and I bought it on launch day. I bought a stick the day after simply because I knew pad just wasn't for me. My skill level hasn't really been impacted by the stick per say, but it's more comfortable and that's what it's all about. If you can be comfortable with a pad, you stick with that and you save the money. If not then you let money be the sole reason for not making the switch, don't think that because you "aren't good enough" at fighting games it should stop you from switching from something that might actually help you improve just by making your playing experience more comfortable.
ymmv of course, but I was really hesitant to get a stick for the same reasons as well when I was considering before VF5FS dropped. However I can honestly say I'm really glad that I did.
Mad Catz will have some deep discounts on sticks during Black Friday if last year is anything to go by. I got the SC5 stick (which is amazing) for £50. Also any time there are fighting game majors streaming on you tend to get discount codes. During the recent VxG the SC5 stick with discount applied was $80. I don't know what chance there is that it will be cheaper than that come Black Friday, but it's always worth a look.
If you need a fight pad then maybe try one of these?
The PS3 ones seem to be available for five dollars cheaper but I don't know how easy they are to make work with the PC. Obviously there's also ebay to hunt for cheaper deals on them.

Apparently, I suck at this whole "backlog" thing. I have all these games I've either paid for or had gifted to me that I haven't even touched yet, and what have I been playing all night? A free flash game.
Meanwhile, this thread carries on. I blame all of you for being so awesome that this is the one thread that I always feel compelled to read all the way through even if I've been unavailable for days.

Shit, guys. Kentucky Route Zero lives up to the hype. It's BETTER than the hype.
You know how you felt the first time you watched Primer? You just needed to sit back and let it soak in for a while before you dive in a second time? It's like that. But it's just such a unique, weird, subtle little story. And the amazing part is how you basically write the story based on your conversation choices and the actions you take. Before you even realize what is happening you've written the backstory for your character and set his mood and motivations. It's a legitimate work of genius and exemplifies everything that is great about video games as a medium.
Everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty
I found this [Quakecon Pack] that fell off the back of the Steam truck. You want it? I'll give it to you for a steal:
Answer me these questions three in a PM and the pack's yours:
What is the difference between an Ale and a Lager?
In the American National Anthem, what does "The True North Strong and Free" refer to?
Who would win, Ditka or God?
@Florin wins this by guessing the answers to the questions I didn't even know needed answering. Boom

Well. I had to give my 22 month-old an epinephrine injection today, then spend a few hours at the ER for observation. All is well now, thank Jeebus. But I guess it's getting close to time to wake her up for some more Benadryl.
EDIT: I should say that she doesn't appear to have been in danger or anything. But with allergies, better to err on the side of caution.

Nope that was 100% MI. We are of a singular mind on the subject of KRZ though, and it fired up a great chat conversation about Vonnegut, Mark Helprin, James Joyce, and the whole games-as-art topic.
In short, KRZ is something you need if you love the craft of words, subtle impressionist art, magical realism or the use of adventure game mechanics as a narrative tool instead of as a means to overcome artificial barriers to progress a plot.
Too much to do to keep up with steam thread, too busy getting vaccinations for school and panicking. First off, thanks to @arcsyn for Tiny and Big, always a classy gent that I can't hold a candle to.
Doing what I can to keep up the class and I know I can't even compare to most of the fine folks here, but I try. For those that still need these, G&T only.

Ah, a new night. Well my day, but most of your nights. I have beat the 3rd boss on Rogue Legacy N+, and getting close to 100%. I'm shocked, my second 100% and on a rogue like? Crazyness. Also, I mentioned I was having a hard time with Ferie Solitaire? Well I found out why. Yeah, the option to make the game impossible, yeah it is impossible. Don't click that. I put it back on normal. And as always, spoils.

Someone else joining the gift train it seems! @KoopahTroopah sent a Steam support condolence letter in the form of PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate. Thanks for that, classy sir.
Your backlog must be crying with pain at this. And no retaliation yet.
@arithon32 - Pinball, Rogue Legacy, and not enough time
All of your talk of pinball was enough to shake me from Rogue Legacy. I'll get back to getting myself murdered in the castle, but first I've got to take one more shot at the Empire table....
I can't shake Rogue Legacy. I'm down to 4 achievements left, so close. I am thinking I need to schedule tasks in outlook to manage my backlog. Wait not sure that is how you do it.

Advice?
Send a game to @Big Classy saying that pixie is getting other people to do her dirtywork, which would result in isy launching an even bigger assault against @Luchaire in retaliation. The tiniest nudges can start class wars.
But, But I all ready gifted Pixe with Magnetis. I thought my text was cute to. I only have so much to gift. I blew a lot on the steam sale. Giftbomb or something. Hum, classwar though..
I discovered Pinball FX2 last night thanks to the chat. And for the record, it's pretty amazing on a 29" 21:9 monitor in portrait mode.
Wait, wait, why did I not think of this? This sounds so great, and I have a stand to do it at home. Only 21", but I'm sure it looks good still. I am going to try this. Thank you sir.

Hello Steam thread! Long time no see, but I'm finally back and I know how happy you all are because of that, yay!
Do I have amazing stories to tell? Yes, exactly one and it goes like this:
Today I started up Steam and saw @Krummith gifted me Papo & Yo because he's a gentleman, a scholar and most likely also a very sexy guy. That's it already, that was the whole story. Short but amazing, right?
P.S.: Make sure to bombard him with gifts!
But your behind the times, it is hit luchaire time. Although, as I'm doing spoils, i'm behind the times too. But consider me a past doctor talking to a future doctor, and something about spoilers (in her voice).
So as to not make this post to long, there you go. I will be back with more spoils later.
Stuck on a crazy road trip, away from Steam, and taking on a 72 ounce steak contest. But @bloodatonement still gets me on my blind side with Poker Night at the Inventory 2. Thanks so much my bright spot of class!
