I will not be purchasing any more consoles after steam big picture. 360 controls hooked to pc on will be all I ever need. I don't like the way consoles are going, and if it drm, it might as well be drm for cheap of gift war style. Besides this community is way better.
And now apparently I have to watch out for gifts from non-Steam sites as well. Checking my email revealed an almost-missed gift message from Gamersgate.

Ok this is got out of hand. My friends are now frozen and I will not accept more until this subsides. I do not have what it takes to participate at this level of class. I think I'm going to go make cartoon panels and just stay away.. ok I won't stay away.. but the class.

Is there local co-op with controller support? Me and my girl have origins on the xbox and like it. I'm all steam now though.

Can anyone recommend a table pack for FX2? I like the free table because it's long and has secret rooms. I like the Spiderman table but some like the Hulk table seem really short.
Edit: Was that 2 pack always there? Damn could have saved 10 bucks.
My last /bump. I am going to be a little busy as I like to spend my weekends playing cribbage with Paul Hogan and Jason Donovan in Paul's stretch Winnabego. Usually it's a great time unless Jason has a few too many to drink and breaks out the Kylie collage book, then it's a real downer. Anyway if anyone could keep this bumped I would be appreciative.

Well. I had to give my 22 month-old an epinephrine injection today, then spend a few hours at the ER for observation. All is well now, thank Jeebus. But I guess it's getting close to time to wake her up for some more Benadryl.
EDIT: I should say that she doesn't appear to have been in danger or anything. But with allergies, better to err on the side of caution.

Ok I'm having a weird issue. If I try to run Steam it says it fails with a 'SteamStartEngine' error and that it failed to open the Steam log file. If I run as admin with right clicking, it works but I didn't have to do that before. If I tell it to run as admin in the properties menu Steam freaks out and tells me not to use compatibility mode (what?) and.. yeah. WHAT DO I DO?

Shit, guys. Kentucky Route Zero lives up to the hype. It's BETTER than the hype.
You know how you felt the first time you watched Primer? You just needed to sit back and let it soak in for a while before you dive in a second time? It's like that. But it's just such a unique, weird, subtle little story. And the amazing part is how you basically write the story based on your conversation choices and the actions you take. Before you even realize what is happening you've written the backstory for your character and set his mood and motivations. It's a legitimate work of genius and exemplifies everything that is great about video games as a medium.

Nope that was 100% MI. We are of a singular mind on the subject of KRZ though, and it fired up a great chat conversation about Vonnegut, Mark Helprin, James Joyce, and the whole games-as-art topic.
In short, KRZ is something you need if you love the craft of words, subtle impressionist art, magical realism or the use of adventure game mechanics as a narrative tool instead of as a means to overcome artificial barriers to progress a plot.
It's a hell of a thing.
