Are there any activities centered around the new powers?
Theres gotta be, right?
Off the top of my head, there's the super speed and jump races, Genki's Mind over Murder, and I've seen mention of Super Powered Fight Club in the tab menu.
Though really, I think any non-vehicle based activity probably ends up centered around the new powers. Even in straight up fights early on super sprint and jump are constant gotos for getting into cover or grabbing health.
The way that my character walked in the leave it to beaver scene made me crack up so much.
I am loving the powers and the only guns I need to even upgrade are the pistols (op one headshot long range snipers with high rof) and the 'merica gun (it's my all purpose are there vehicles/lots of people/tough enemies problem solver)
This game is so goddamn good. Destroying that first dome is when it really clicked for me. Sprinting around and hitting enemies with all kinds of ridiculous melee attacks made me feel more like a superhero (or villain) than any other game.
It's a damn good thing I didn't unlock any powers before going to bed last night or I might've been playing until morning.

Super powered fight club is AWESOME. Best new activity. You get to be really creative in how you use your powers, and the enemy types are all really varied.

I seem to be experiencing a weird glitch where I don't hear my car engine sounds when I drive. Anyone else having a similar audio problem? Maybe I should reinstall?
So I finished the intro mission and now I seem to be stuck in a loading screen.
Seriously, it's been a few minutes here.
What the heck.
Oh, and also? It can't seem to decide whether I'm using a controller or a mouse, and my quicktime instructions sometimes show controller buttons and sometimes show mouse or keyboard buttons and I have to translate them in realtime. Makes it more challenging, sure, but more frustrating, too.
Decided I just didn't like any of the men's haircuts so I made a lady boss. Decided to use a French accent and modeled her on a French girl I've sometimes bumped into in a store. Hope she's fine with being turned into a merciless superpowered killer. I then bought like 15 pants and skirts at the first opportunity because I find the clothing options so much better for females and wanted to have them just in case.
I had no idea there would be so many data clusters. Upgrading mobility super powers first is a good thing. Super jump height and glide especially are good to prioritize.
Not all that impressed with the dubstep gun, at least in its none upgraded state. It's tough to get a read on how much damage it's doing when stuff is actually shooting back at you. On the other hand, the abduction gun is great for taking out high hit point targets that spawn in some activities.
I've also bumped into a bug. It seems if something prevents the reload animation of a box magazine fed weapon from completing, you wind up not reloading, will still see a magazine in your left hand, and can't manually reload until you fire a shot. Some fights were really annoying until I figured out why my SMG wasn't reloading when I wanted.
I thought male and female share the same haircut-pool.

Yeah, Steam is currently having server problems, so it won't let me download my Boss. Wonder if I should just make a new one.

Grumble grumble something something why games are released later in EU grumble grumble
Sigh...
I'm importing this to save some cash (grumble grumble oceanic retail price gouging), so won't be getting ahold of the game until it releases AND ships from Europe.
So far this is coming off as really poor. The graphics and animation are pretty bad, the writing is dumb, that whole beginning tutorial thing was so creatively bankrupt I had to force myself to even finish it, it's crossed the line from ironic misogyny (which is still bad) to lazy misogyny, and the game can't seem to keep up with itself. I get stranded in the middle of missions constantly having done what it asks but the game keeps thinking I haven't done it.
I don't see myself firing this one up again any time soon. It's boring and very by the numbers although
You know, I never liked "Don't Want To Miss A Thing" until it came up as the soundtrack during Insurance Fraud.
Now I can't stop singing it.
Here's the great thing now that Insurance Fraud has been increased in speed. Go to a freeway, find traffic, get some air and start rag dolling WITH the flow of traffic instead of against it. After a few bounces I picked up so much speed I racked up about 350k per chain.
Update: My controller problems were due to XPadder sending keyboard commands along with all my controller buttons, and the loading thing hasn't happened since I restarted.

This game? Fun, with so many nice little touches.
What did you think of the
Slowmo epic Call of Duty shooting scene
in the first mission? I'm glad I didn't have that spoiled.

Word to the wise: if you see a lone Professor Genki wandering around the simulation, run. Do not challenge him. He will crush you.
My SR3 Latina boss has been remade from scratch, and suffered some kind of stroke or something that gave her a French accent.

I'm loving the writing so far. Keith David cracks me up every time he opens his mouth. It's just so good. Doesn't run that great on my machine, but it still looks fine with everything set to Low or Off.

He actually helped me clear a flash point. :P
Also, if you have ADD, this game is going to give you serious problems...
I'm done for today, but I managed to do Shaundi's mission which was extremely good character wise. It got some legit feels from me.
Whether this salvages new Shaundi or not for people, I thought it was fantastic. She just sounds so ashamed. And when she started stabbing Zombie Gat and screaming I just wanted to give her a hug and an 40z. Oh yeah, and classic Shaundi is great with an awesome voice actress. Can't wait to do their loyalty mission.
Her romance is also surprisingly adorable.

You know, I never knew who sang What Is Love and I thought Haddaway was a guy who did some weird version you guys liked, but nope.
Still in the tutorial missions, but I keep getting distracted by glowies and activities.
In SR3 I never used melee except to pick up the occasional guy to throw into traffic, but I've been clearing out flashpoints exclusively with melee after getting the first powers. It just feels so awesome sprinting around and doing the special moves. I feel like a superhero! I was worried I was going to be a fast guy with guns.
Blaze is a ton of fun and I haven't gotten anything less than gold on them so far (even Hard). I think I've completed 4 or 5 of those already.
I love the towers. It's like climbing the HQ in Crackdown except 5 different times. They get really fast with upgraded powers.
Some of the assassinations are nuts. I just had to kill
Played some more today and loving it. Been focusing on getting clusters and doing side stuff and the occasional thing that pops up or I run into.
Got unlimited sprint which is very nice, hated running out of stamina. Makes getting that upgrade kinda pointless now. Clusters wise I got over five hundred clusters left and tons of powers upgraded.

What happens when you collect them all? Do enemies immediately combust into flames when they glance in your direction?

Based on the progression of the super powers I'm witnessing so far, that's a distinct possibility.

Its basically SR+Prototype and I love it.

What I don't miss are the shitheads that ruined the MP.

They still haven't shipped it yet. It's been "shipping now" for 24 hours.
I want this game now, not the "now" that exists in Amazon's sadistic world.

The skins are mostly cosmetic. However, they can change the sound, and for one particular weapon, that sort of actually matters.

Also that opening mission managed to parody about three films and every Call of Duty trope known, it was pretty great.
I guess pick a less funny game? The first mission is a blatant parody.
