I accidentally overwrote my home pc's FTL saves with the steam cloud ones which killed my beautiful Slug Cruiser and Federation Cruiser and half my cheevos ;_;
Onager beta 9 and onager gamma 2 both got into the gravity well of mun, but beta ran out of energy and gamma experienced user error and missed its chance to try to achieve orbit
at some point it might start being worth putting scientific apparatuses on these things!
My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)

Kerbal flight engineer if mechjeb would take all the fun away
"user error" means my computer can't handle the change in orbit from getting too close to mun and when I'm running at 1000x by the time my screen unfreezes I'm in obit around the sun.

One of my rockets had a few issues getting into orbit and ended up going down almost exactly on the wrong side of the planet from the Kerbal Space Base so I decided to build a new rescue jet.
Supercruises at mach 4(at around 24000m), seats 7 including the pilot, mostly glides on its own if I let go of the controls, and has enough fuel to fly around the planet. Twice.
yeah no that's not what the other kerbal people I know mean by that
or if it is it's on a much larger and messier scale
you can continue that daisy chain as long as you want, with as many radial arms as you want, so you might well have seen someone with four fuel channels and 25 total engines at the launch pad. It's going to be an important strategy for any multi-engine craft even after they implement better aerodynamics, people just won't be able to abuse it as much.
I want one that changes all laser weapons to not need a reload
One thing I really like about UFO Defense is that the weapons have a balance to them, where it's a totally viable strategy to just stick with laser weapons and ignore plasma, because they're plenty strong and don't require any ammo, and though plasma weapons are even stronger, you still have to pack ammo
I don't really like in Enemy Unknown that it's just a plain Standard < Laser < Plasma progression, I'd like to have that old balance back
I was just rolling into the last town of the Scipii, held by a few scattered legions and the town watch. The turn before the siege, one of my settlements rebels and goes to... the Scipii.
Scipiiiiiiiiiiiiii
There is only one when dealing with slave revolts, sick war dogs on those plebs and put all of those traitors to the sword when they surrender

I don't even give a fuck about slave revolts, I tend to leave them to the city. Revolting and turning to an opposing faction though? Ooooohhhh that makes me so mad.
I've never really found a use for war dogs. I've had opponents field a full stack of war dogs against me before and they always get annihilated. Playing as Rome I haven't seen a great need for varied armies, just legions and cavalry. Most of the time the legions don't even see action because flanking infantry with cavalry is so effective. Even moving your horsies into position causes their battle line to break.
I'm at the mopping up point now, the Scipii are finally dead and the Brutii only have a few nasty old cities in eastern europe. They can't field legionaries any more. If I ever play this again, I'm going to remember that the trick isn't territory size, it's quality of territory. If you take their huge cities, you can retrain your best troops right away and prevent them from fielding any elites. I think I'd have won a lot faster if from the start I'd ignored Gaul and gone straight for Greece, Carthage and Egypt. Even if the opponents (and your real opponents are the other families) have a ton of territory, any city that can't field legionaries is going to get rolled the fuck over.
I think my big problem with Tomb Raider is that it didn't really have a sense of building action
Like there was a progression for Lara where she went from "oh no I have to kill this deer" to "I AM GOING TO GUT EVERY ONE OF YOU SONS OF BITCHES", but that didn't come with a sense of going up against greater dangers
I mean you move from guys with assault rifles and shotguns and hand grenades to plodders running around with swords and bows, sure they do a lot of damage but none of them can get close to me unless I let them, "oni" my firm ass
This was kind of best exemplified in the ending, I think, where it gives this impression that shit is about to get unbelievably crazy when really it's just shoot these dudes, dodge this dude, and then do a QTE to kill this dude. Bam. Credits.
Heffalumps are great because they just wreck everything and then get scared and run back and wreck you too. Their special ability is getting the guy riding the heffalump to stab it in the head to stop it rampaging. Then at the end of the battle you get all your heffalumps back.
My favorite tactic in Rome: Total War is to play Julii, then proceed to cut off the other two Roman factions from where they are programmed to go. I send half my armies south on the starting fleet to Sicily, where they'll take over at least the Carthaginian city there, if not also Syracuse if the AI is being particularly dumb. The other half goes north, then east on to Greece. I more or less ignore Gaul (where the game assumes I'll go) until I have both Carthage's land and Greece firmly in my control. Note that this is on easy (because I am bad at video games), so the AI is spectacularly dumb, which I take full advantage of. These moves essentially paralyzes the AI roman factions, which usually don't expand at all (green usually grabs one city before I cut them off), which makes taking them over 10-15 turns later all the more easy. Once the Roman empire is unified, taking over the rest of the map is pretty trivial.
is there some way to get something in orbit around kerbin to stay pointed in a certain direction relative to the planet, like looking directly at it or away from it? The SAS just makes it stay still relative to the sun, I think.

it's supposed to keep your orbital from spinning
because if it was aiming at the sun, it wouldn't be nearly as handy for taking off
Update on Space Plane: The Squall Skyjammer has been redubbed Skyhammer on account of its new profile. Hopefully, the newly learned "Asparagus" structural method will allow smoother control over the spacecraft.

because I'm having fun, and will eventually plant a flag in every damn rock floating around the sun in the name of President Dubh

God help me.

I see what you did there.

well tonight I smashed Jebediah Kerman into the surface of the fucking moon at 600m/s
turns out landers are heavier than probes by an order of magnitude
Well maybe not so much for Jebediah.

It was like some sort of flower blooming, except with jets of fire
It was so unexpected I was just dying with laughter for a good minute.
The story isn't really doing anything for me and the gameplay is starting to feel really samey.

I had no idea

FINE.
I'm gonna reinstall Rome because Tube's stories are making me miss my glorious legions.
It is a good game.
Bleed is also frenetic and crazy
