This post is to let you know the what, who and where of everything Tabletop at PAX Prime 2013.
Washington State Convention Center - Levels 2 & 3
Tabletop HQ and the Lending Library are back in Room 204 this year. Dedicated freeplay rooms are rooms 205, 211 and 304 with more freeplay out in the hallways. The official (unofficial) Tabletop Twitter account is
https://twitter.com/TT_HQ . Follow it for news, Tabletop pictures and general comedy.
The Annex (a.k.a. The Convention Center but no one calls it that)
In the Annex will be everything Wizards of the Coast. Magic: The Gathering on Level 1 then Dungeons & Dragons in the basement.
Olive 8 Hotel
This hotel is waaaay closer than last year's satellite location. The Olive 8 is kitty-corner from the Paramount (Main Theatre). This is where all of
the Tabletop Tournaments are happening as well as a second Lending Library with a ton more freeplay space. So when you stop by Tabletop and it's full to the gills, please head over to the Olive 8 and check it out.
Looking For Group?
If you are down with the tweeting, we in Tabletop use a hashtag to find groups/players at PAX. Tweet with #ttlfg and the game you have and your location. For example:
We need 2 players in room 304 for Fury of Dracula #ttlfgExhibitors:
Paizo, Go To Games, Green Ronin Games, Cool Mini or Not, Japanime, Fantasy Flight, Catalyst Games, Uncle's Games, Steve Jackson Games, 13th Age, Dragon Dice, Games on Demand, Reaper Minis, Gamma Ray Games, Soda Pop Mini, Ancient Wonders, Olympic Cards & Games, Cascade Games.
Also there seems to be a Nexus of Tabletop companies up on the Skybridge... you'll see what I mean when you get there.
I can answer any questions you all have here in the thread, just ask.

How late will the Olive 8 location be open for free play?
It'll match the rest of PAX's hours, so 12:00am each evening

Bring on the community!
Anyone interested in doing a Modern Masters draft at Prime? It would most likely be at the Olive 8 TT freeplay area on Friday evening at 9pm. Price would be $30 for three packs, keep what you draft. If I get enough interest I'll take deposits to hold a spot and collect the balance when we draft. Lemme know along with the best way to get in touch with you.
Good Point. Sorry but I always forget about fire codes and how serious they are.

Yes, especially in the evenings after that day's minis tournament has ended, all taking place in the Olive 8's 3rd floor ballroom. There will be a few tables set up for demos during the day, running concurrently with and next to each day's tournament. But if they're not in use for demos, or the tournaments have ended early, then they will be open for Freeplay. They will be 4'x6' tables, but we can't guarantee that any terrain will be available, so if you need terrain, please be prepared with your own, beyond any armies you bring for your own freeplay games. Freeplay tables are, as always, first come, first serve.
Huh, I could swear the lending library closed at midnight, but the freeplay areas stayed open later to play attendies personal games. I distinctly remember telling my friends "No, don't try to learn and play Arkham horror at 11:00 PM; you'll be here until 2:00am." I could swear they were.
The hours have been reduced this year due to the extra day. Everything closes at 12:00 rather than 2:00.
Terra Mystica
Tzolk'in
Steam
As a matter of fact... THERE IS! Mostly. Sort of:

At the moment we list 430+ unique titles in the PAX TT permanent library. But please consider this a subset of what you'll find.
Steam is included in the current inventory. Tzolk'in and Terra Mystica at the moment are not, so don't come expecting them to be there. But that may change. Some new titles may be added between now and PAX, and at PAX itself some titles may be loaned to PAX Tabletop HQ for use during the event (list not finalized). So please consider this a subset of what will be available.
After PAX Prime is over, we'll update this inventory again before PAX East with any changes, to continue to make this list available.
Also, please remember that we will again have two library locations: TTHQ on the 2nd floor of the WSCC, and also our satellite library on the 3rd floor of the Hyatt Olive 8 Hotel. If practical, we'll try to have a list of what's in the satellite library sitting in the main TTHQ library room.

My boyfriend and I are definitely interested. When and where were you thinking of playing?
I'm interested. I've no experience with the system but have started to hear good things.
The system is super easy to pick up. During the playtest I was able to have some friends and family (who only have minimal Pathfinder experience) pick up the system, create characters, and run through a simple adventure all in under 4 hours. This was without cutting any major corners either.
I have three adventures that would work great as a 4 hour game (one from the playtest, one from the kickstarter campaign, and one from the core rulebook). I do not have a 100% firm schedule yet but once I do I can send you both PMs.
Here is a good intro to the game: http://www.montecookgames.com/numenera-primer/
Cascade games has all the info.
Also, https://sites.google.com/site/ddatpaxprime/ lists all of the D&D organized play info.
The past three years that I have attended PAX Prime, I keep saying that I want to run an RPG with random people at the expo. But I never do. One thing or another gets in the way. This year I am hoping that will change.
I am posting this as a way to put out some feelers. Is there any interest in this? Would anyone have suggestions as to were I/we should do this?
My game plan, up to this point, has been to just send out a tweet when my friends and I are ready to play, inviting people to join us. I am just open to hearing anyone's ideas and thoughts. Feel free to respond to the thread or PM me.
I know last year we (my group of attendees) had some difficulty finding a place to play, as well as we like to game late. Are we allowed to take games back to our hotel room to play overnight (With a PAX badge on the coordinating days)?
