you really need the center of lift and the center of mass to be aligned on the X and Y axes, and the center of mass to be directly above the center of lift.
I want to believe you
but I've been told like five fucking things and I just want the stupid space plane to what it's supposed to do
I'm sorry, I thought you meant the rockets. With the planes I think you want the centers of lift and mass to be aligned on the Z and X axes, with the center of lift behind the center of mass on the Y axis; ie, if you draw a line from the center of lift to the center of mass, it should point straight down the runway.

I'm sorry, I thought you meant the rockets. The center of lift, if it means what I think it means, should be lined up with the center of mass as closely as possible; any variation is going to mean you'll need to trim in order to fly straight.

So the last time we left our fearless adventurers, they were stuck orbitting laythe because their gas drained out and they didnt' put it back.
It only took six months but we sent them another transfer engine
landing site picked
Lets bring this bitch in; it's starting to smell like farts in here.
Alright, woo, we're here. Hey someone let the guys in the back seat know we're here!
Aw fuck, are you serious?

Guys! I made it! I built my own ship and...
This doesn't look like Laythe. Where's all the water?
Fuck it's hot out here.
I tried to copy the rocket Machwing built but it keeps blowing up on me
I tried to make a lander to land on the mun to join my fleet of race cars but it too blows up or fails to make it
I guess I should go back to playing with rocket cars
Are you just running at full throttle the whole time? Mainsails explode when they overheat.
It blows up on the launch pad

Are you using struts to reinforce everything? Kerbals seem to connect ship components with the same stuff fridge magnets are made of. Throw struts around copiously; they weigh next to nothing and conveniently disappear if they need to, I.e. when staging. Otherwise, you're gonna get the wibblies and the wobblies.

I only wish there was a mod to build struts in orbit.

Quantum struts
Although, and I'm not positive on this, I think you need to place them in the VAB. Then when you dock ships together the struts will connect.
Which seems like it would be a pain in the ass... but I guess its better than nothing.

I'll wait for a mod where you can make a kerbal go outside and fly around and weld a strut on to a thing

you could use the detachable connector ports from KAS to build deployable quantum struts!

I finally landed a rescue mission on the Mun.
Now Jeb just has to run the 5.4km to the rocket. I think I'm going to be holding down this W key for about an hour.

FUCK YES
Jeb is home safe! Good thing you guys brought that quicksave/quickload feature to my attention. Took me 2 attempts to get Jeb into the lander, which didn't have any ladders on it except for the default rungs on the capsule. I knocked over the entire lander on the first attempt as it was precariously balanced on a hill.
Then it took me a couple more goes of actually trying to reinsert the lander into Kerbin's orbit, and then slow the orbit enough to get caught by the atmosphere.
Made it home with about 5% left in my last small fuel tank.
Also if anyone was wondering, Kerbals run at about a metre per second. I fashioned a stand with a book and my folded pocket knife to hold down the W key for an hour and a half to run to the lander.

So two things:
I build another wobbly ass outer space rv and sent a load of kerbals to eve. Nobody can get out of the command module cause I forgot to put a ladder there. They can fall out but then they can't get back in.
I made a space bus and loaded everyone from my new space station up. I de orbited the space station and watched it crash. Then I landed the space bus and when it touched down the crew module exploded, immediately killing almost everyone.

I had a question
If I wanted to recuse the people I have in orbit around the sun how do I do this?
Just fly up an empty ship and somehow slow down their tomb? have the crew abandon their home for the last few cycles into their new gassed up ride home?

Set them as a target and get into an orbit roughly similar to theirs. When you get to the first set of intersect markers burn pro or retrograde to close the distance on the other set as much as possible. If you're within .2 km you're probably good to go, but if not, do the same thing on the second set while watching the ones across from you. Time warp till you're about half a km apart and then point one ship at a heading of 360 and activate the sas. Switch to the other and point at 180. Select the docking node as the target, then maneuver your way in using rcs

If decently so, that would effectively be what you are looking for
Unfortunately the only remaining part of his vessel is an SAS module and a cockpit that has run out of electricity.
I sure do hope that he brought something to read.

It is exactly as hard as it looks.
Success!
It was then I realised that the Kerbals couldn't EVA from any of the modules I had... so now I have to tear it all down and rebuild.
I don't remember why
