Altis is absolutely massive. Those scale pictures really don't even do it justice. It's large enough that Artillery pieces are now a legitimate gameplay aspect.
Cautious optimism at best. Starpoint Gemini 1 looked awesome but was a cluster-f. Half baked and buggy as all hell. I would highly recommend against preordering the sequel until reviews come out.

Stop making me want Arma 3!!!
:P
Do you know how many coffees I would have to buy at the coffee shop to justify using that much of their bandwidth to download the game? So many coffees!

On the plus side if you don't have reliable internet most of the single player content outside of the massive amount of workshop scenarios isn't out yet.
So Kotaku just posted some pretty damn good deals Amazon is doing for Square Enix games. One of them is going on right now til the 14th, and then the others go on sale for about a day each afterwards.
Now - 9/14
Hitman taking care of business pack [Online Game Code]

Hitman: Absolution Professional Edition
Sleeping Dogs
Just Cause 2 w/ DLC
9/17 - 9/18 (Everything below for $14)
Tomb Raider
Sleeping Dogs
Hitman: Absolution Professional Edition
Kinda bums me out because I just paid 10 bucks for Tomb Raider the other day and I easily could have waited a few days and gotten a copy of Hitman Absolution with it for 4 dollars (I've owned Sleeping Dogs for almost a year now), but you guys can learn from my mistakes!
Alright, so, I have my contest, no thanks to you guys, who provided no ideas. :P
INCOGNITA CONTEST
To win a copy of Incognita, those interested will become sneaky agents themselves. But what does every spy need? A codename!
So, here's the game: Until tomorrow at 9pm Pacific, you can PM me with your codename. The codename must be related to a post you have made in this thread. Give me the codename, a link to the post, and a reasonable explanation of how the codename relates to the post if it isn't obvious.
Then, tomorrow night, I will post a list of all the agent's codenames, and the sleuthing will begin. At any time after the list of aliases has gone up, an agent may make an attempt to out his opponents by linking each name on the list to the Steam Threader they believe is hiding behind it. (And also PMing me a link to the post, so I don't miss it). You may hide the guesses behind spoiler tags in an otherwise unrelated post to try and sneak it by, but you must @ all your suspects (pre-edit, of course).
If you get them all right, you win! If you miss even one though, you've just revealed yourself as an agent yourself, and made your enemy's jobs that much easier to discover your codename! Since your own alias is on the list, that one obviously doesn't count against you for putting a wrong face to it.

Paranormal is now on Steam early access. If you previously got it on Desura (most likely through the Groupees Be Mine 6 or the Greenlight 3 bundle) you can now go to your Desura games list, look for Paranormal, and get the Steam key.
@RoyceSraphim and @Drake have played it the most in my friends list, any thoughts?
It's a slow and deliberate action/strategy game. You run a futuristic carrier that can deploy four amphibious assault vehicles and four close air support fighters. I think it's really really good but then I'm in the minority I guess. It's not as fast playing as other action strategy games like the very similar Dangerous Waters or Battlezone. A big reason for this is that you aren't using hovertanks. Your amphibious units are very much affected by the terrain they fight on. Their wide turn radius can get them into trouble in tight quarters and things like hills, mud and rocky terrain can drastically slow them down and affect their ability to maneuver. So you have to pay attention to their disposition. Fight smart and they'll tear through opponents, but choose your ground and disposition poorly and you'll get eaten alive. It's not perfect by any means but it does what its supposed to do in a way that I really enjoy.
The sci fi tech represented is near term stuff, ballistic weaponry still dominates the battlefield with a few energy weapons popping up here and there. The single player campaign is best approached as a long and guided tutorial to the skirmish mode which is the meat of the game. The basic concept is you take your futuristic carrier on a campaign through a chain of islands. These islands contain important resources, production facilities, labs and so on. The enemy has their own carrier and you engage in fights over the islands, looking to get the strategic upper hand so you can take on and defeat the enemy carrier.

No love for the FTL? Figures, everyone has it already. I'm sure I can find someone to drop it on if no one enters.

I just did that.
That being said, should it drop to under $10, it's a good buy. Really fun, very atmospheric FPS with cool powers and TIIIIIME TRAVEL!
Anyone else have the 10 year badge? I had no idea I signed up for the Steam beta on day one back then. Sweet.
Someone took the Brutal Legend key....not sure about the others.

The Walking Dead is sooo good. I'm only on ep2 and I'm in love. I am not an adventure game guy at all, but this, this is, this.

The main game isn't on sale. Just the digital deluxe edition...to bring it to the price of the main game.
To say that Activision is out of touch with pricing for legacy Call of Duty games is the understatement of the century.
