He has to manage the company. That's what executives do. People come into work in their offices every day and he's the guy that's on top of all of that.

didn't you get the memo, simben? corporate executives are all lazy layabouts
Well now I'm imagining Reggie as a Michael Scott-type figure and he tried out the "play the game" thing in the office one day and thought it was awesome

You'd be surprised how accurate that is.

So, curious:
Of the PS3/Vita owners in the thread, does anyone get anything even resembling good download speeds from PSN?
Like, anything approaching 1MB/sec would be passable, even though it would still be slow compared to my downloads elsewhere. But I'm curious if anyone even gets that much.

I get comparable speeds on my PS3 and 360. Don't know the exact speeds
1MB a second? That seems insanely fast. A gig in about 16 minutes? I've never gotten that sort of speed from either console

PSN is always just as fast as XBL was for me before I sold my Xbox. Which is to say quite speedy

Seriously, I don't watch VGCW but if they're not giving Reggie HHH's entrance they're fucking up.
So I've been under the impression that the wii u is pretty underpowered and probably wouldn't be able to run gta all that well
Inaccurate. It's underpowered compared to a PC or next-gen consoles, and it doesn't run Unreal Engine well, but it more than holds its own against the PS3 and 360 (which are the only confirmed GTA5 systems).
I feel like the WiiU is probably more powerful than 360 and PS3, they just haven't figured out all the optimization tricks for it yet. That always takes a few years

The Wii was capable of doing normal maps like the 360 and PS3.
The only games to use it were made by High Voltage.
Unreal Engine is not officially supported on Wii U, so the games that do use it (Arkham City, Mass Effect 3, I wanna say Darksiders 2 but not sure) had to have some programming black magic to get it to run, hence the poor performance. AC3 runs perfectly fine (and as a bonus, the big radar on the controller is really handy), and I heard Black Ops 2's Wii U version is the best console one.

Is it weird that I feel like we've seen almost nothing about GTAV but it comes out real soon yet we are being buried by Assassin's Creed stuff and that game is still a while away?
The trailers Rockstar have released, especially the campaign and multiplayer ones, kinda condense down what makes that game so exciting.

Reggie is the only person saying that
I've only ever heard reports of slowdown issues in Wii U Black Ops 2
Is that what GTAV will be? It won't be " life still kinda sucks" at the end?
They seem to want to distance themselves from 4 so I'd imagine it probably ends Ocean's Eleven-style (since heists are the big central thing this time around).
To be fair, Vice City actually had a happy ending! It was pretty gruesome and there were hardships, but it basically ended with the "This is the start of a beautiful relationship" thing between Tommy and Ken. It was definitely an arc that started very low and ended very high.
anyone here like Risen? I've been trying to play it, and man. I'm like 5 hours in, and i've spent all my time in one bandit camp with no armor and a crappy sword, trying to squeeze out quests to get money. Even the most basic gear is a whopping 500 gold (for comparison, most of the quests are giving me like 25 gold each.) I'm not even sure if it's what I was supposed to do, but I ended up splurging on two levels of pickpocket to make one of the quests move along. (Skilling up costs both leveling points and large amounts of gold).
In the end, the three protagonists stage an elaborate "We all hate each other!" play for the bad guys to trick them into accepting one of the trio into their badman gang where they can take over and keep all the moneys

I'm still not sure that counts as an awful lot of work. It's not like there are any game releases to work out the logistics of.
Too late
no thank you

It's possible I'm a bad judge of time and also don't know shit about technical shit

Both Mario Galaxies and I wanna say Skyward Sword used it, too.
My absolute favorite thing about open-world games is building an empire
Buying all the business and rebuilding your villa in Assassin's Creed
Taking over San Andreas
Taking back Stillwater in Saints Row 2
GTAV seems to be the biggest and more expansive version of that kind of open-world game to date
Yeah, but unfortunately in about three months the 360 and PS3 aren't what's going to compete with the WiiU

Oh life will still kinda suck
Michael is miserable at the start of the game, and he's rich with a house in Beverly Hills, a wife, and two grown kids
You'll have monetary success but likely not personal satisfaction
But maybe he finds his happiness by the end
Maybe
I'm guessing if the Wii U equivalent will be tessellation.
Rockstar?
nah

And it's in a warehouse made to look like the one from Reservoir Dogs.

I'd say this is the "happiest" ending in GTA history.
Im really tempted to get one right off the bat
