I just saw the Cornetto Trilogy and it was INCREDIBLE. I loved every second of it even though I have seen Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead like 10 times each.

The movie absolutely uses a ton of epic conventions

It wasn't quite the action movie parody I expected
It only became that towards the end
I've been meaning to watch it a second time and judge it more on its own merits but...just haven't yet
It's sitting on my shelf, I'll probably watch both before The World's End this weekend
That's actually what gives it the better rewatchability over Shaun of the Dead.

The night I saw it my friends they had a argument over wheather or not you would immediately kill your loved once they turned. It got so intense the driver stopped the car, pulled off the side of the road and made my other friend get out the car. They didn't speak for weeks.
