played new patch last night, yay patch. I sorta forgot to ever uh.. finish the main campaign so I played a bit more last night. About how far through the main game am I if I just went back to the NTSB, killed everybody, and got the DNA evidence?
A little less than halfway, I'd say.
I agree. It should be noted, however, you can probably finish up the game if you sit down and give it a few hours.

There are throwing knives now too. Nice.
They don't give you the option of a sniper as your first weapon though. Not so nice.
Guess I'm going to have to earn it.
(and yes, ye gads is that title screen awful, it's the font)
I know you can play it on tablets but can Shadowrun be played on something smaller like a Galaxy S4? Or are all phones blacklisted?
they are on there for note 3's and galaxies.
The problem is Notes are so big they are mini-tablets. And Samsung also uses the Galaxy name in their tablets so that doesn't mean the Galaxy phones are included. I'd like to know if some one was able to get it to work on a phone before I consider buying it.
Just played my way through Dragonfall's prologue and I got a question for the Shadowrun lore people. What are Icons and how are they different from Totems?
Also, putting some points into Spellcasting or Conjuring gives you some interesting yet mysterious info on Glory.

great, thanks for the info
edit - also I remembered why i sorta stopped playing. The game is fun but I picked a Conjurer class or something (I know NOTHING bout Shadowrun) cause i thought controlling beats would be fun, so that's what I've been dumping points into. But I hardly ever find those sites to spawn things and also spawning creatures seems to be consumables instead of just a ability so that seems super lame. Instead I just pew pew wiht my pistol for not a ton of damage and kinda rely on the rest of my party
What am I doing wrong?

Fans of giant guns and guns that splode things are going to be happy with this one.
Being a conjurer/ summoner, for the exact reasons you mentioned.
It's not a class to build around really, it adds punch to other classes though. A mage or shaman with summons backing him up can be pretty damn powerful, but a straight summoner is somewhat gimped.
If folks have any questions or feedback, we're super interested in hearing them.
Hiya John. Welcome to the PA forums! Busy playing at the moment, but some quick feedback:
1.) Love the new save system.
2.) Whoever writes the in-game dialogue seriously deserves a raise, or at the very least several repeated pats on the back, or maybe an industry award or two (if none of the above are available at least buy them a drink during happy hour). Seriously. I'd swear they write some of the most natural yet elegant text dialogue I've seen in any recent games. Excellent stuff.
3.) When I started up a new game of dragonfall I got some kind of warning message about it using custom content and how it could affect gameplay. Then it listed some of the UGC stuff I had installed (specifically tracker's street samurai catalog, magical tattoos etc.). Which caused me to pause, since the wording of the warning made it sound as though dragonfall utilized these. I gather, the message was meant to imply that dragonfall would affect those UGC's rather than the other way around. Anyway, might wanna have someone look at the wording of that popup warning.
4.) Really digging the mission flow in dragonfall. Definitely a vast improvement over Dead Man's Switch. Not that Dead Man's Switch was bad by any stretch, but this feels like a much more appropriate experience for a shadowrunner.
5.) I'm surprised by how much I find Eiger kinda interesting. I like the fact that you don't curry favor with her via the usual RPG methods of flattery. In fact, I'm quite liking most of the team members I've met so far. Talking to Dietrich about punk bands was a conversation I wouldn't have imagined having in an RPG, but rather enjoyed nonetheless.
Found a neat little easter egg for those who are familiar with shadowrun and specifically, the old Shadowlands posters from the old sourcebooks.
If you query who stayed in room 300 of the hotel, apparently Hatchetman was at one point a resident.

Just how inspired by Baldur's Gate 2 were you guys anyway?
Also, what is the difference between an Icon and a Totem? Lore-wise, I mean.
On a more technical level, rolled a Shaman on the character creation screen. Picked an Icon. Then, when it came time to name my character the Icon's text was all mixed up with the 'pick your handle' text. It was pretty messy.

Would you be able to call my job in a really frantic voice and make it sound like I need to go home from work to play Shadowrun? Nothing too serious, obviously, but maybe pretend to be a plumber or a roofer or something...

do you import your character from Dead Man's for Dragonfall, or is it just a completely new thing?
Are you the magic man?

About ready to throw Eiger down an elevator shaft.
Theres only one macho troll sniper specialist on this team and you are not it, sister.

I don't think a CRPG has come out that didn't have some inspiration from the Baldur's Gate Series.
Per Andrew (Lead Lore-god),
"Think of totems as being representative of Native American mythology, and Icons as a more European/pagan myth. Kind of like different philosophical approaches to accessing the same concept."

Just visual. I could enter a name just fine. I just couldn't quite read that I was supposed to pick a name because that text was mixed up with the Icon's text.
And I specifically mentioned BG2
because of the 'raise a whole bunch of money for the shady underworld figure' plotline.

Personally, I think the only thing better than one macho troll sniper specialist is two macho troll sniper specialists.
One can really never have too many macho troll sniper specialists I suppose. They're sorta like bottled water, or towels. Even if you don't need one right now, they're still handy to have around in case of emergencies.
Hmm. Tried creating a new character, picked first the different Icons Idols, then the same one as before and the weird word mix-up didn't happen.
What did happen when I 'made' an elf, when spending my last karma on a Totem or Idol, I instantly got kicked to the 'Pick an Etiquette' and then the 'Pick a Name' screens without hitting Confirm first. Didn't happen when I tried again with a Troll.
Clearly, the character creation screen is a weird and mysterious place where odd things sometimes happen and sometimes don't.
Oh yeah, I just remembered. When I upset the weapons merchant I got the option to use Street Etiquette to smooth things over even though I've only got Shadowrunner and Corporate right now.

That would explain a lot. Especially about the last few missions of DMS and some UGC.
Never considered it before but actually makes me want to try a combat medic.

figured, thanks.
I still hate that corpses disappear immediately in combat. MY IMMERSION. is there any way to stop them from doing that?

Too complex or complictated of an idea for Returns?

There's an optional mission that explores part of it in Dragonfall, I dare not get spoiler-y though.

That I believe, is coincidence. My brain-meats are worn enough I thought you meant the series of games, my apologies. More caffeine!
