Latest bug fixes up! They added a grenade launcher in case anyone wants to make a PC decker that can dps like Is0bell
I believe that was already in the game, it was just only available at one vendor in the Strangler Bao mission.
There are a few items only available from mission specific vendors like that like the shock glove or armored business suit but having one so early felt weird.
Ahhh, I loaded a game were I'm in a battle and Is0bell's grenade launcher is gone. Though when I loaded it the first time it was there, then I reloaded when things went south and it's now gone. Why god why...
"If a cherry pie filled cape is wrong, I don't want to be right.
I'm dead serious."
The ol' M79 grenade launcher only holds one round but combine it with the cyberarm autoloader and BOOM, you can fire as many rounds as you have AP thanks to free reloading after every shot. It's hilarious.
The autoloader on my street sam felt like cheating, so much dakka. I still like Duncan's grenade return upgrade the best. Chucking back some random duder's grenades never gets old, or any less hilarious.

The grenade launcher was always available!... if you had the foresight to buy it in the beginning of the game
Though, that upgraded one wasn't
Also this patch is basically just the beta patch they released a week ago, was hoping there'd be some new shit in it
Many of the Academic and Shadowrunner checks are backround lore and extra conversations; Gaichu has like half a dozen of the academic checks by himself. Still, their use is definitely favored this time around. Security comes in a bit more during the endgame, though one of its checks apparently fails regardless of subsequent dialogue (the conversation in question seems to require a disguise). Gang is basically not used after Outsider, while Corporate and Socialite are close in the ratio of occurrences to use in puzzle solutions.
Allegedly it was due to players wanting to play dress-up with the armor and then complaining that their preferred styles didn't have the proper boosts for whatever build they were running so HBS just nuked the entire idea of armor boosting anything. Not sure I believe that although I am still running around in the starting armor on my 2nd playthru because it's the only style that has both arms visible and I like the look of the exposed cyberarms. (Why yes, I did ask for this.) Surprisingly, only having 1 point in armor hasn't really been an issue for my rifle using Street Sam on normal difficulty either. I'm pretty sure I couldn't have gotten away with it in Dragonfall though.
I won several fights in the final missions by having Gobbet haste Duncan, who full auto'ed on two enemies in cover to negate their cover bonuses, then Gobbet used her remaining AP to Flush a third enemy, then my pistoldecker with a Ruger Thunderbolt chainshotted the three exposed dudes, killing the two guys Duncan had weakened, then Bursting on the third. First round, three party members activated, three bodies dropped. Bing, bang, bong. Triominos!
Nobody says "triominos." But I just did, I guess.
"Triominos" is now officially your new street name, Jake. Aren't you also the guy that had unfortunately coined the phrase "Don't Jake this roll"?
EDIT: The next time I roll a character in an RPG, I'm seriously considering "Bing Bang Bong" as my nickname, which will probably be deprecated to "Triple BBB" or "B-cubed".

I really am liking the BBS this time around. Especially the bit with the poetry
They make a poetry bot and it escapes. Later they're discussing some AI that accidentally became sentient and only posts PC reviews when it shows up in the thread and merges with JIVEBOT

In an amusing case of life imitating art, this has spawned actual poetry battles over on the Site That Shall Not Be Named.
Including various posters imitating Jivebot and Codex, both separately and together.

I just started this, having a rare weekend of alone time, so I'm not reading the whole spoiler-filled thread yet. Just wanted to say, after spending a lot of time and frustration trying to get the game installed and finally re-downloading all of Steam, so far it's worth it.
I like the setting, I love the characters and what little I've seen of the plot so far seems promising. Maybe HBS played the Nightmare Harvest mod? Sure is a lot of talking about dreams.
I'm playing an adept because kung fu, which is a bit underwhelming so far. Once I actually can afford some spells I'm sure I'll be a badass though.

Remember that melee characters are best as supports for ranged characters, generally. Hitting an enemy with any melee attack will remove cover bonuses, so you can significantly improve your team's killyness by running around in cqc, punching every enemy once and then letting your team's guns swiss cheese everything.

So long, Algernon. Guess he decided to settle down in Berlin.
Or saw Kowloon Walled City and said hell no.
I'm neck deep in Phantom Pain, but I still hope to devote a day or so to this along the way. My thoughts so far is that it isn't a breath of fresh air like Dead Man's Switch or a great thing made better like Dragonfall, just more of the same goodness.
I still appreciate the new setting and gameplay tweaks.

I actually did not realize this! And I've played a lot of the previous two games. Maybe I was just never under enough pressure to motivate me to really study the systems closely?

There's a number of aspects to combat that are not immediately obvious. Thrown weapons like Detrich's knives also remove the cover bonus on a successful hit. I didn't notice units in light cover only take 1.0x damage and those in medium/heavy only take 1.0 or 0.5x damage until I came across one of the Kickstarter updates about it after I finished the game.
Is there a way to check your teammates' karma distribution outside runs?
Not sure if the same applies in Hong Kong but in Dragonfall right before you go on the mission inside the party select screen you can see their skills in one of the tabs.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for the PC Decker having a cyberweapon and a random pistol while decking? It's put my game to a halt and made me think about just restarting as a mage.

I picked Academics totally on a whim thinking "Well this was shit-useless in the last two... how bad could it be this time?"

Final etiquette tally, for the interested:
Corporate: 9
Gang: 4
Security: 8
Shadowrunner: 14
Socialite: 8

It's all just armor rating, none of the armor in the game gives attribute bonuses or health anymore.
Was there a reason for such change?

The original crew (non-stretch goals) seems inspired by the Wizard of Oz for sure.

Not that I'm aware of; just the character sheet for active party members, but I don't think there's a way to check their stats otherwise.
