I kinda like storm's destructo disk. It, combined with her little quips of "so fragile", "clearly not built to last" and so on always make me giggle about how big a jerk she's being. She's a bigger menace to society than most of the villains!

Yeah I too thought that the reworks had been good so far, such as with Hawkeye. I haven't paid too much attention otherwise until getting back into the game recently, so of course my information may not be complete.
Hawkguy is my main, and I was not a fan of his review. The most efficient way to play him after the review is the same way you played him before the review, except now you throw in a claymore turret every now and then.
I didn't play Gambit before the review, but I started him up this weekend and I dig him. The only problem I really have is his signature move. It's cool, but I kind of hate anything that roots you in place. My first death was to Juggernaut in MM because I used his sig and couldn't get out of the way of a charge.

I'm not totally sure if this means the Hawkeye review was a success or failure, but it does seem that at least these character reviews aren't complete doooom like some are saying, which is encouraging. Somewhat.
I went out and sunk all my Gamestop gift cards into Marvel Heroes cards, and so flush with funbux I couldn't stop myself from purchasing Loki, who I think is my favorite character so far. I've decided to go into Mischief for now, as having lots of Lokis running around all the time is pretty hilarious.
I don't know why, but splinters seemed to be dropping pretty well this weekend... it might just be perception, but it certainly felt like I got a bunch of them much faster than I did during my initial run-through the story with Scarlet Witch. I only had around 100 shards at level 30 with her, but (with a Fortune Card that gave me 25) I'm already up to around 175 or so, enough for another random hero. I'm going to hold off for now on that, both because I feel a little burned by those random hero boxes, and because I honestly should have more than enough characters to keep me busy for awhile. We'll see how long my resolve holds, as I'm a tragic case study in altitis. :P

I kinda have the opposite sentiment. I didn't get Hawkeye beyond level 7 pre-review since overall he just seemed lackluster and didn't put out enough damage (and a bit squishy to boot). After the review though, I got him to 30 really quickly. Perhaps the end-game is relatively the same, but the leveling experience was so much better post-review, IMO.
As far as Gambit, I'm not too sure where I land in the crowd post-review. I'm still trying to figure out how to build/play him- again. I will say that I used his sig in X-Def and got run over by Juggernaut- but I survived.
I'm currently leveling Gambit as a pure melee guy and he's crazy strong. A little squishy but he has lots of dodge and his melee passive gives health on hit and defense so it's pretty manageable.
I haven't leveled any melee characters very far, but I noticed that I tended to have a bit more trouble on bosses with them, as most bosses seem to have anti-melee attacks.
Being a squishy melee just seems like an exercise in frustration.

Kate (Hawkguy) is easily my favorite hero right now. My other heroes at 60 feel like a chore to play compared to her.
Heroes that haven't had their 52 rework the max level for abilities was level 30. The max level in beta for quite awhile was 25, so a lot of the skill trees were set up for that.
Haven't the vast majority of 52 reworks been on characters that were lackluster to begin with?
Yes, so?
My point is that the 52 reviews by and large have been a good thing. So the doomsaying in here is kind of weird.
Like even if Storm ends up weaker, there's no reason to believe her review won't keep her a very viable character.
I agree. I am looking forward to the Hulk review. I don't imagine they will make him weaker as he is middle tier now. Wolverine has nowhere to go but up.
Storm and Jean though are gonna get messed up though.
I've hit the point where I'm eager for the Jean rework because I want to see how they fuck it up even worse than she already is.
It should be hilarious.

Gambit as melee just seems aesthetically wrong to me. Gambit is all about chucking cards from ranged and making stuff go boom.

I agree completely. And as soon as his ranged skills are anywhere near as good as his melee ones, I'm going to retcon to those.
Hey all, we have a small update based on player feedback to Gambit coming later this week. There's one particular item that we'd like to get additional feedback on regarding his signature, which has its own thread here. Here are the pending notes:
Grand Slam - Can no longer be deflected by players or enemies (no longer considered a projectile).
Good Times Roll - Now displays the attack speed buff on the tooltip. Animation speed slightly reduced, resulting in faster movement.
52 Pickup - Damage has been increased ~30%. Maximum channel time reduced from 6 seconds to 5.2 seconds (number of projectiles remains at 52)
Dead Man's Hand - Now begins at 2 cards instead of 1. Damage has been increased ~10%.
Savate Expert - As with most health-on-hit proc effects, Savate Expert's now has a brief internal cooldown.
Kinetic Card - Now deals splash damage when enhanced (via using a spirit spender).
Cheat Death - Visual effects have been increased in size to make it more clear when the effect has been triggered. In addition, Gambit is invulnerable for an extra 2.5 seconds after reviving.
I take back what I said about Gambit. Between the boosts and finally finding equipment with Ragin' Cajun on it... yeah, he's pretty good. Like really good.
It seems that everyone is jumping on the melee bandwagon for Gambit, which is sad to me. I was looking up builds people have been posting the last few days and all of them are relying heavily on Savate Training (which as pointed out above is getting/has gotten a nerf). I don't think I could play a Gambit that wasn't throwing playing cards all the time.
In general, I've been perusing builds on Marvelbase and looking for the common skills that everyone seems to agree are 'must haves', then build the rest based on how I want to play that particular character. So far this has worked for me, but I don't have a max level character.
I'm playing ranged and not having a problem. Honestly, I've stopped caring about optimal builds. If my build can solo cosmics, I don't really care what anyone else thinks.
That said, the only problem I have with ranged gambit is that he doesn't really have any good single target skills beyond his basic and signature which has a 52 second cool down.

At least they are increasing the damage on Dead Man's Hand and making it start at 2 cards, that should help a bit for single target damage.
I can't understand why flying is so terrible, especially compared to teleporting. Makes me sad, but at least teleporting is really great.
Storm thinks flying is just grand. That's where you just coast through a level and everything dies and drops you presents, right?
Also there is no chance Storm comes out of her 52 review as is. She has ridiculous AoE DPS and single target DPS and they're the same damn skill. That is gonna get changed.

She was a breeze to level up to 60 though.
Ball Lightning will have some kind of CC applied to it, which would bring it in line with Iron Man's far more reasonable Pulse Bolt.

Also most official forum builds now totally worthless as they all abused savate having no cooldown. The tears are delicious.

Now they just need to give him the Shipment Processing and Analysis Device in some capacity.
Now I want to see Groot in a business suit.
