The worst part is that I still need to finish that paid gig I've been working on as soon as I can, plus overhaul Trainsawlaser's audio system before April 1st.
Plus YouTube commentaries, but I've got at least the next week's worth of content recorded already.
Also trying to exist away from my computer occasionally.
Well, its been a fun 6 years and some change. But forbidding a TF3, I think I'm done. And I'm selling all my TF2 items(whats left any way). Except for Bills Hat. That's dying with me.
or if someone SERIOUSLY wants it they could trade me Dark Souls 2 for it, but thats probably not going to happen

Maintaining the exact same looks and gameplay (maybe slightly improved graphics or hats or something...) with just a major overhaul of the underlying engine would be pretty nifty. Getting rid of a ton of the limitations of the engine would WIDELY open things up for mappers to blow your minds.
Could you imagine what they could do if they had more flexibility in the HUD department for maps? They could totally do some crazy crap with game modes.

Alpha 5-
Adjusted health and ammo placement/ sizes
Fixed an exploit allowing a rocket/ sticky jumping player to shoot through a displacement
Turned transparent grating at final point into solid brushwork
Added two small rooms in the underground route in the final building, connected by a windowed detail area.
Added a crate/ ledge route to get up to platforms around final CP
Added cover to second CP capture zone
Slightly lowered cap time of final CP
Fixed ugly displacements in 2nd courtyard by starting from scratch
Fixed a few other ugly displacement issues
Widened a doorway between second and mid
Added dispenser-nobuild just behind the last capture point to prevent a possible exploit
Created some custom materials for the map
Fixed some lighting issues
Improved clipping
Started detailing a bit
Bunch of optimization work
So in case anyone still cares about cp_crater, anyone got a genius idea for a second route on CP 2? Especially for defense. All I can think of is a tunnel that goes under the point and exits along the cliff but I worry that will make for too long of a run before you get anywhere.
I've started shuffling bits and bobs around to change how the various routes unlock and am liking what I see so far. I just can't decide what to do with CP 2.
TF3 (or even a TF2.5) will need something new to bring back the people who moved on to other shooters.
TF2 is still technically a success and is generating good money for Valve, but the community is kind of shit. PA alone used to be able to fill 3 servers and now we can't even keep one full on Friday.
I really like the ability to run private servers, but a cool thing for Valve to do would be to bring the MvM party system to Quickplay so you can get a bunch of friends together and it automatically finds everyone an active server with room for everyone to get in.
I'd like any female versions of the classes to be their own characters and not just female versions of them. Female heavy not being a stoic Russian, the female sniper not a professional Australian, etc. A major part of the appeal for this is the character work and interactions and essentially making two of every character would feel wasted next to 18 possible different people.
I feel like TF2 has reached WoW level behemoth status and can't really be remade as much as endlessly expanded upon
And I'd hate for there to be a TF3 because then I'd have to do bill's hat, earbuds, service medal, halloween, gibus, golden wrench, unusuals, and all that other crap all over again

A reasonable request, but given how much value Valve has placed in the "character silhouettes" I'm not sure TF would have a lot of wiggle room. The female heavy weapons character would still have to be heavily built, the scout would have to be skinny, and so on. If you want to get a feel for what happens when you lose the ability to quickly identify threats, play a couple rounds of Loadout. You have no idea what kind of gun is shooting at you until after you die.
Obviously there's other nationalities and stories out there, the heavy weapons lady wouldn't need to be Russian, but she'd probably have a similar background to the existing heavy.
I too would play as a vaguely human shaped assortment of random appendages with a color palette north of pastel vomit

The only new colors in that hodgepodge is brown for the bag and money green.
Literally every other color in that costume is already on the scout.
So... fuck you, I guess?
The great thing is I was being 100% serious

At the very least I'd quite enjoy femscout becoming canon, because the scout vs. scout obnoxious sibling jokes seem pretty obvious. She could fit right in, instead of just being a genderswapped version of the same character.
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
I would actually prefer if they did not just a gender swap, but an EVERYTHING swap. The Heavy becomes a gorilla, Medic is an upside-down android, the spy becomes a living suit of clothes, etc. etc. And we could throw in fem-scout as well, because why not.

also if I did want to trade my bills hat for dark souls 2 does anyone know a good trading forum?
I am too much of a hoarder to go "Fuck it, I will never play this again, give everything away."
Then TF3 comes and I have no hats. But I'll get new hats. Some for now I'm sellin all my hats.
so, forever

with TF2, you could make some excuse of there being a rift from an alternate universe
(the joke being that the other universe version of the pyro looks exactly the same, but all the voice clips play backwards)
Twitch (I stream most days of the week)
Twitter (mean leftist discourse)

I would play fem-scout with my Groucho Marx glasses and cigar, bowler hat, and money duffel all. Day. Long.
I would stick with fat guy heavy, though.
