Yeah I wasn't understanding why people were calling BS when it was such an easy thing to try for yourselves...
At least for myself:
1. I wasn't able to test it myself yesterday, didn't get a chance to play.
2. It seemed too stupid to be true. I mean, having something that important for gameplay be tied to your framerate?
I decided to dust off my mapping skills that I haven't used since like 1998, making crappy single player Quake 1 maps. I watched some Hammer tutorials, and dove right back in. I have decided to make a bigish sewer control room KOTH map.
It's Khaleesi's birthday today and she's on her way home at the moment so I should proooobably pay attention to her instead of gaming. Otherwise I'd join you nerds.

I peaked at FPS games in my late 20's and it's been downhill ever since. I've never been "competitive material" but at least in pub games I would traditionally be in the top 20%. These days I'm probably around the 50% mark.
Everyone's always "well just practice more you noob" but as near as I can tell hours spent doesn't help all that much. I just can't click on heads as fast as I used to.
Man I hear you there. I played Q3A a lot in high school, and was in two successful clans. I tried to jump into QuakeLive, and while I could hold my own okish I was right around that same percentage. Similar story with Tribes 2 / TribesNext.
Probably why Minecraft gets more attention from me these days...
I won't watch it live because I'm busy all night but I would probably watch it at work tomorrow for background noise.

I'm not much for watching streams, but I'd be interested in a recording, too.
On a completely different note, I've been thinking about this for a while, and I've come to the conclusion that the Clinical Trial set is actually the best Battle Medic loadout. You can get up to 100% uber for the Overdose's speed boost in an instant with the Quick-Fix (said speed boost makes you more maneuverable [which I value over the Blutsauger's health leech] and able to backpedal away from Pyros), and the Quick-Fix is perfect for the Medic on the move as you can quickly heal up people without distracting too much from your battle duties, and it doesn't feel as wrong not to be always topping everyone off because their half overheal will wear off before they actually start fighting anyone.
And of course, the Solemn Vow lets you see the enemy health, so you'll never miss an easy kill again. And it also apparently has a weird enlarged hitbox or something. So yeah. Just some rambling thoughts
I really like the vaccinator even though it is an irresponsible loadout, because it makes me look forward to single class spam instead of dreading it

Eh, the only time I feel like I need to switch to regular ubers is when I'm on offense on a payload or A/D, stuff where Red needs to get super entrenched to win. If on defense or it's a more fluid map type, any medi-gun is worth using.
For that matter, I'm still of the opinion that unless you know your going to need to clear out a sentry, the quick-fix is still just plain better than the medi-gun.

I use 1st gen mediguns to overheal people out of getting piped more than actually ubering, which is usually not worth saving yourself for unless your team is super cowardly/imbalanced.
Vaccinator is just so decadent though. You will win every medic buddy battle and you can finally give medic hunting pyros and snipers the middle finger they deserve
It also helps that it's still bugged
But the fact that it can't over or quick heal plants it as a niche weapon. If you want to graft yourself to the mvp you can do magical things, but for that particular strategy it doesn't really matter what gun you use

The biggest advantage to a hypothetical TF3 that I can see is the opportunity to do some creative destruction. Right now TF2 is really starting to lurch under the weight of the features that have been bolted onto it since the first release. Things like the item drop system, the nearly unrestricted color space for hats (think making sure that all paints are the varies-by-team kind), changes that might impact a class's overall role (like, say, swapping out entire weapon sets) and support for significantly revised creative tools are the kinds of thing I'm seeing as possibly getting changed.
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.

The balcony seems to work well, the hole might be too big but we'll see with some play testing.

Also, is there any interest in having me stream the glassworks UGC test tonight?

Lots of off topic nerds at the moment... so FYI.

Fair warning, I think the item server is acting up.
