I wonder what our oracle backup policy is at work

    Probably "nothing like enough"

I moved us from nightly backups to transaction logs every hour, so the worst a power outage or someone stupid (me) can do is an hours worth of data loss.

Thankfully I haven't had to test that yet (but I do test the backups, always verify your backups, a backup is no good if you never make sure it's a valid backup with a restore to a dummy DB every once in a while)

Accidentally arrived an hour early and am now sitting in a darkened opera house, alone. If this place didn't have free wifi I'd feel really stupid right now.

If you put me alone in a room that carries sound well... look out. Don't give a professional opera singer that kind of freedom.

When I was doing Mikado in Santa Monica our venue was crazy with sound. You barely had to make a noise for it to carry through the entire house. I'm pretty loud, so it was actually difficult having to scale back to match such a great sound in such a small theater.

Yeah. Don't even get me started on the acoustics in the Seattle opera house. My god, you cannot have a private conversation on that stage. Crazy good sound carry.

today has gone from random crying fits, to laughter, to hating everything.

every single call that I've taken has been an escalation of one sort or another. I've done 4 sales in 6 hours.

If I wasn't getting paid commission I wouldn't worry. but still. UGH

I had never heard the term 'Ice-cream social' before Sarge said it in an episode of Red vs Blue.

So now, any time I see it written down, the entire post becomes dictated in Sarge voice.

And now Sass sounds like Sarge.

Funnily enough, it IS used in boot camp (at least for the navy). Basically meant we were about to make it rain... By keeping the windows closed and doing exercises with the heater on so eventually it would literally drip from the ceiling. (This was done specifically in winter time and not summer)
