Is it still possible to speed run Rats? I was with a higher level, like 90-ish, player and we would:
1) immediately blow the lab.
2) he would run to the safe through side halls and then blow it open with charges, retrieving the info.
3) this always triggered Escape so we'd use charges to speed through that.
4) well the last bit is pretty easy really.
We were getting just amazing XP but obviously not much money for the run. This is the only time I've seen someone do this and I'm not specced for charges.
It is very hard to find a normal playthrough of rats because of the XP runners these days. Which kinda sucks because trying to cook 6 bags of meth is always good fun. I am wondering if there will be a XP penalty for blowing the house up early in the future really.
Rats and Watchdogs are the only 2 levels where nothing can be stealthed. (well I suppose you could give the gangsters the meth on day 2 and just leave but where is the fun in that.)
Man, speedrunning Rats is a waste of an excellent 3 levels. And I have C4.
This is why you are my favorite Canadian.
Also, I has still yet to stealth Day 1. I will do it! (I will have to put down Rome2 for a while to get the time though!)
I'm pretty sure stealthing Rats Day 1 is impossible. Otherwise it would be the biggest payoff on the planet. Although, you can bag the corpses of the cooks, right? So they exist in game as a "corpse" item...
Okay, homework time. The next 3 people to run Rats have to post screenshots of the corpses of the cooks. If they are always in the same place, then I would assume that they start out the level dead. If they are in different positions, then they may start out as living. If they start as living, then it may be possible to save them.
But honestly, I doubt that. The gangsters probably spawn in the room with the cooks, and the cops are automatically alerted because of their gunfire.

It's possible to stealth Day 1 of Firestarter? How?
It's possible to stealth Day 1 of Firestarter? How?
It is definitely possible. Just requires immense patience or really careful teamwork. (I have done it solo a few times. Takes about 15 minutes)
You just have to absolutely make sure none of the gangsters alert for even a split second. So you have to knock most of them out in the back alleys really and hope pathing doesn't screw you over.

2 of them are alive on level load. It's scripted for them to die as you approach the house
They dont start out dead. If you run into the house fast enough, you can watch them get shot. I'm pretty sure it's impossible to save them though, cause they got shot while you are on the staircase.
You don't need C4 to speed run Rats. Sure, C4 helps because it is the fastest way to open safes but all you really have to do is to kill the gangsters in all 4 rooms before they trigger intel burning.
Really, you don't have to speed run anything if you are hosting. I've been in pubs where we try to get as many bags for Pro OK Rats. Everyone just has to be on the same page.
EDIT: Also speed running Rats is enjoyable for me. You get tons of exp, you get a ton of money for the time invested and you get a card

Then is it scripted that the cops arrive too? As in, no stealth option?

I think there is an auto alert on Rats 1 when you hear the flock of birds cry on approach, similar to Frames 2 alerting the dudes outside the warehouse.

You can stealth Frames day 2. I had no idea either, until @Nova_C and his crazay stealth buddy showed me how. There's a group of civilians that startle and alert the map unless you're careful.
They got tied down, and we uneventfully bag-trained it over to the van.

Frames 2, as soon as doors open, drop an ECM on the nearest warehouse wall and sprint to the 3 builders, shout and tie 'em down.
Unless there's a police ambush, that will be a stealth completion every time.
Level 100 might be a while still but getting there otherwise. (11 million more XP I think)
Also I totally lucked out on getting the big oil day 2 achievement today since I joined a pubbie match in progress right before the engine was verified. Previous attempts we always ended up getting the first one wrong and the second right.
once you are like, in your 70-80s and exp slows down you basically just sit around for ten minutes looking for an actual over-kill multi-day mission because thats the only kind of job that gives you any actual experience...
They really, really, *really* (to quote Bain) need to bring in atleast an difficulty filter for searching crime-net in a lobby.
The implementation leaves alot to be desired. Having a difficulty filter for contracts would be a massive plus.
Also yeah, I highly recomend for people planning builds: Plan what it should look like at 50, 80 and 100. Because all of those are big 'go earn your shit' moments where the amount of XP per level rockets up.
I sent Goldfarb a Tweet last night, letting him know that I'm level 88 and still waiting for a shell rack to turn up, lol. I asked him if an alternative progression / unlock system was being discussed internally, and he replied, stating that "it's in the queue for implementation".
So, right on. That actually makes me really happy. An alternative unlock system is something this game desperately needs, in my opinion. I love Payday 2, but every time I finish a job and I still don't get what I'm waiting for, it loses a little bit more of my interest.

That's good news.
I swear, since level 50 (I'm currently 59 right now) all I've been getting is repeats of patterns, masks, and attachments. 90% of the weapons I own have no option for modification. And I'm not just talking the wanted stuff like scopes and lasers, even just the normal shit. I've 3 things on CAR-4, 3 mods on my AMR, 97 mods for that shit shotgun that I haven't bought, and a few random secondaries are outfitted with stuff. The rest are plain vanilla, simply because nothing ever drops for them.

Isn't that the meth exchange? That's easy to "stealth" so long as you take enough meth with you and don't steal it back.
