sometimes i am really afraid to voice opinions on here because i don't want them to be immediately invalidated by the forum's perception of me as a "straight white male"
i'm not saying anyone on either side here is right or wrong
i just feel like it's gotten to a point where i don't want to post anymore because i'm afraid that some of the friends i've made are going to immediately judge me and throw my opinion out the window
this is my 2 cents in this conversation.

if you're afraid of your straight white male opinions being judged, you should probably take care when speaking about a subject with which you are granted privilege by virtue of being a straight white male and recognize that you might say things that are ignorant
but please let's not do a whole co-opting a narrative of persecution thing here
I would like to think most of us realize that we're not experts on complex, evolving subjects (although this is sometimes hard to remember in the heat of discourse
A different, more connected perspective is something i love hearing
But if i say a thing or things that are wrong, i promise you it's not a purposeful attack, i just need to learn more

People can feel oppressed or marginalized despite being part of the majority
Dismissing those feelings because they are part of the majority does not exactly help that feeling
This forum is a community of a relatively small number of people, with even fewer big personalities
It's easy to get a sense, in that situation, that your opinion isn't valued
I valued @T4CT opinions even if they were horribly wrong about fast food or hash browns or whatever else and I hope he comes back some day

Nothing, but his post closed out the last GB thread:
And I kind of agree sometimes.

Speaking of
My girlfriend just moved in with her PS3
Other than Infamous and Uncharted, what are some backlog exclusive games I should pick up?

i dunno. my girlfriend plays Dragon's Crown too so if you want to play together it's... one of the best Co-op games I know of for the console
we blew our whole labor day weekend on it
I can't think of anything recent that compares to it
I own the PS3 primarily for sports games :rotate:
You should at least give Heavy Rain a shot. I liked it.
There's no way I could play Dragon's Crown with my girlfriend without being mercilessly mocked
But thanks
I'll probably end up getting Tales of Xillia and spending way too much time on it
Oh yeah! I think I'm one of 10 people who loved Indigo Prophecy, so I'll give that a shot

That doesnt mean I cant still have opinions on things

but then you can't stop me from having opinions on your opinions
Um excuse you it's most apparently a trapezoid of life
Or... Opinions?
