OEM LG Blu-Ray drive [No Driver?]

Hey wangs and wangettes,

Before I throw this thing out the window, would anyone happen to know how I could get my hands on a driver for an LG internal Blu-Ray drive (model: UH12NS30).

It's an OEM drive, so it just came in that annoying plastic case with no software included. Windows 8 seems to kind of recognize it as a Blu-Ray or at least DVD drive, but it only reads CDs with it. If I put in a CD-ROM, it loads just fine, if I put in a DVD, it shows the file contents, but it's not recognized in Windows Media Player and AutoPlay does nothing (doesn't even pop up with the options window).

I'm assuming this is a case of the drivers Windows assigned being for a CD-ROM drive instead of for a Blu-Ray drive, anyway.

So, Google has failed me, I can't find software support anywhere. Do I just return it and go for something else?

Allegedly a voice of reason.
